Review: ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
This gentle and completely sheer Eyeshadow Primer has key vitamins A, C and E to help prevent aging and moisturizes the skin. The formula glides on easily and disappears instantly to create longer-lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow. The Mineral Eyeshadow Primer is designed to be used with your favorite mineral eyeshadow to provide ultimate staying power for beautiful and vibrant color that lasts. 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
This is one of the products from ELF that I am very much intrigued. This is my first time to use a liquid primer I usually use cream based ones. I got this from ebay and I kept on wondering if I will purchase the 3$ one or the 1$ primer. I chose the mineral primer instead because of the good reviews here in blogosphere, youtube and even in makeupalley. I have never tried using Urban Decay Primer Potion and I will probably won't give it a chance since the primers that I have tried which cost a fraction of a price are really good. I have seen a review of this primer compared with UDPP and they are almost at par. (ALMOST) I initially wanted the Etude House Proof 10 Primer but it is always out of stock! Sigh!!

This primer has a life span of only 6 months as indicated on the tube.  I just dab a small amount of  primer on my lid and it instantly creates a smooth and even base for my makeup. I used this on my graduation and my eye makeup stayed on for the whole affair till dinner (almost  9 hours). It comes in one shade which is in "Sheer."
I find the doe foot applicator very easy to use.

Packaging: 10/10 I like the sponge tip applicator for precise application of the primer and I experience no spillage.
Texture: 10/10 This is very easy to blend and dries into an almost matte finish.
Long Lasting Effect: 10/10 My eyeshadows do not crease at all. ( Or is it just because of my dry lids??) My eyeshadows lasted upto 9 hours. Indeed, my eyeshadow lasted longer without fading whatsoever.
Price: 10/10 I got this for 235 pesos only on ebay! Only 3$ which costs less than the infamous UDPP!

I love this product so much and I will definitely repurchase! Why buy the high end e/s primer if this product works just the same right?
This blends easily on my lid and gives that brightening effect too. The texture is very light, sheer and silky.

I will be showing you a comparison of my LA Colors eyeshadow quad with and without primer.

Left: without primer  Right: with primer

See how it made my eyeshadows look more vibrant and fuller.
It made my eyeshadows really pop!!
Another plus point : NO PARABENS!!!
I recommend this primer to all of my readers. This is definitely a must try and a must have.

  10. I have This Elf mineral primer and the Elf Studio Primer & Sealer. I love both of em and I've seen a comparison of the Elf mineral primer and Urban Decay Primer potion on you tube, the quality was the same even after 8 hours of using it!

@Michelle, I have LA Colors palette but they aren't as pigmented as the ELF eyeshadows...hehe

  15. Hi, I'm a lurkern (tee-hee) I've been wanting to try this ELF shadow primer for some time but I ended up trying the NYX HD shadow primer instead - you might want to check that out too. I believe a local seller sells the primer for 400 (8gms - like a full size mascara tube) and it's amazing. It's not as good as UDPP or TFSI - it's actually better! I hope I can get my hands on ELF so I can compare them :)
