Going Green! Go Naturals Skin Hydrating Facial Toner

Hi guys. Some of you may know that I am an avid user of Eskinol for years. I specifically use Eskinol Dermaclear C which I think is now phased out. I have been searching for this variant and I can't find it anymore. :( I have raved about Go Naturals Purifying Facial Wash before. Now, I tried another product from them. My skin is normal to dry and super sensitive. Despite, not being prone to pimples, my skin would get occasional rash break out. I always make sure my towel  is changed everyday. I have a separate towel (just a small one and my grandmother loves to stock on towels for me) to dry my face. Lately, my skin is acting up. I get rashes almost every other week. My theory is that this is due to dust because I commute to the office and I walk when going home. Another reason is my very bad habit of touching my face every now and then. Yay!! Anyways, my skin feels tight and dry. I am using the calamansi variant of Eskinol and it does not work well on my skin. Then I remembered that Go Naturals is also selling toners. I gave this a try more than a week ago. In my mind I told myself , what can possibly go wrong in trying a 45 pesos toner?

The first time I tried it, I immediately notice the sweet subtle vanilla scent. It smells so good like their facial wash. Then, it feels so light and gentle on my skin. No stinging at all. After more than a week of using this, I must say that this will be a mainstay in my skin care routine. I finally bid goodbye to Eskinol. It did not dried out my skin and it did a good job of cleaning it. However, I apply my toner in a reverse manner. Instead of applying it after washing my face, I use it before washing my face. This routine worked so well for me. My toner serves as my makeup remover for the face. I hope this toner comes in a 200 ml packaging and their facial wash too. The good thing about it's size is that it is really travel friendly. I hope Go Naturals can read this post of mine! Please make full sizes for your products!! Please. Over all, I super love this toner! In my opinion, I love this better than the celeteque one!

Can you read the ingredients. The ingredients are indeed organic.

The next product I want to try is the Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil. Debbie of Reynakatarayan is raving about it the other day on Facebook. This sunflower oil is always out of stock in Robinsons Galleria, Debbie bought hers at Trinoma. I also want try Go Natural facial srcub soon.

Have I Finally Found The Perfect Red Lipstick? Lime Crime Lipstick in Retrofuturist

Hi everyone! I really have a hard time finding the right shade of red lipstick for my medium yellow skin. Most red lipsticks would make my teeth look more yellow.  This lipstick was sent to me by Charmaine of Starmaine Cay. You can also check her sister's site, Anna of The Makeup Suite. I will put their links at the end of the review. 


 Lime Crime is known for their slogan, Makeup "so bright, it's illegal".  

As I have said before, Lime Crime lipsticks have the best packaging ever. Hehe I really adore the purplish pink packaging with glitzy designs of stars and a unicorn. It looks so creative and cute! The price is quite expensive, in my honest opinion. I could splurge such amount on some MAC lipstick instead. The lipstick formula is very ordinary. It reminds me of the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I am not a fan of the scent. It smells a lot like a regular lipstick. The best lipstick scent I have smelled are from NYX Black Label Line.

The lipstick glides smoothly on the lips. 

The shade Retrofuturist is a True Red.
The color is a very neutral one leaning a bit on the blue based red color range. This lipstick is vegan, thus, they do not test on animals. 

The shade is really really pigmented. The color pay off is extremely great! This can leave a stain on your lips. This swatch I made on the back of my hand was really hard to remove. The staying power is good. Although, it does come off when you eat. I was wearing this lipstick a while while having dinner and I noticed that the color on the inner portion of my lips close to my teeth faded. 

The sheen really bothers me a lot so I have to blot it off with tissue or set it with a translucent loose powder. Glossy lipsticks especially the dark and bright ones  accentuate my big and pouty lips (and I hate it). I love to pair this with a dark red lip liner from Nichido. You need two layers of lipstick to achieve that even red sheen.  For everyday wear, I use my pinky finger to dab the lipstick on my lips for a more natural look. This red lipstick does not make my teeth look more yellowish.  Further, the shade really  brightens  up my face.

Is this my perfect red lipstick?
No.  I want to try other matte Red lipsticks like the NYX Soft Matte lipcream in Monte Carlo. I also want to try the beautiful MAC  Ruby Woo.

Hi everyone! These blushes are part of NYX Spring Collection 2012. When I first saw these online, I got so excited that I hurriedly ordered two shades through pre order. The Stick Blush shade in Magnolia was sent to me by Charmaine of Starmaine Shop (https://www.facebook.com/starmaineshop?ref=ts). This costs 275 pesos at Starmaine Shop. The packaging reminds me a lot of Nichido blush sticks. On the other hand, the idea of a stick blush reminds me of Nars multiple stick or the ELF all over color stick. The packaging is made of plastic. Surprisingly, the packaging is  quite sturdy. The cap locks securely and does not come off easily.  The size of these blushes are really cute. Like the mini Tarte cheek stains (I have seen one before). They are very handy and light. I do not have qualms bringing all three shades in my makeup kit everyday.

These blushes are really pigmented. I apply it in a dabbing motion or I swipe it directly on my cheeks. Then, I blend the blush on my cheeks like crazy. The shade is very buildable. You can apply one layer and this will immediately add a hint of color on your cheeks. The consistency is quite thick and  creamy. Compared to NYX cream blushes (which I love to bits), these stick blushes have slightly dewy to velvety finish while NYX Cream Blushes have a very dewy finish on my skin. Although these blushes glide smoothly when applied, I have a hard time blending thenm on my cheeks esp. on top of my foundation. Lack of proper blending creates weird patches and streaks so, be careful. There was a time when I failed to blend the product well that a small lump of  product accumulated on the temples of my cheeks.YAY!! The trick is to blend the product really well. Blending the product really well will not only create a natural pop of color on the cheeks but it also makes the blush lasts longer. I always apply this with the use of my fingers but I guess using brushes is much better.  Since these blushes have  velvety finish, this does not feel sticky at all especially when it is completely dried and blended.

It does not have a weird scent. It did not cause me any break out or rashes.  Hypoallergenic .
The best thing about NYX products, they do not test on animals.

Here are the shades that I have:

Magnolia
This color is a cool toned pink. I am not really sure if this looks great on my NC35 skintone. 

Can you see the velvety finish? It reminds me of the NYX matte lipstick in Summer Breeze which I had previously reviewed. 

Orchid
This is my favorite shade! This shade tries to mimic the infamous NARS ORGASM. Does it look like Nars Orgasm? I do not know! Haha However, the color is very beautiful and unique. I wore this shade very often last summer because it makes my skin glow! The shade is a beautiful  coral shade with golden sheen. The gold tends to fade when I finish it off with a loose powder. Sigh!  I can use the shade alone even without setting powder when I want that much coveted glow on the cheeks. If there is a color that I highly recommend to my Filipina readers, this is it! I think coral shades are the most versatile blush shade because it can suit fair skinned women and also morena gals! 

Can you spell LOVE? I love love love this shade hehe 

Hibiscus
The shade is a neutral pink with brown undertones. On my skin it may look a bit more pink. This looks very natural and perfect for everyday wear.It looks very similar with NYX Cream blush in Natural which I also have. The latter looks lighter though. 

These blushes stay on my cheek for 2  hours without retouching. The stain it leaves on my skin is not as pigmented and long lasting like the stain left by the NYX Cream Blush. I like to top it off with a loose powder or a powder  blush with a similar shade. Doing this can make the product last longer . The downside of these blushes is that they rub off easily. That is why it is advisable to set them with powder. 

Although I have dry skin, I can not say that I will repurchase these blushes. I really prefer powdered ones. However, I do not regret buying these blushes (Orchid and Hibiscus).

Celebrating with Dermclinic

Hi everyone. Firstly, I would like to apologize to my readers. I apologize if by any way your head aches everytime you read my blog due to my faulty grammar. I do not proof read my posts. I received an anonymous comment about it and I am sincerely grateful for her comment. I just hope she wrote it out of sheer concern. My friend jokingly said "baka EIC yan" haha. If I have read your comment months ago, I would perceive it negatively. But now, I see things in a more positive light. Praise God!!!!!!! I have to admit I am not good in tenses. As in. Super. I will work on it. :) Thank you again.. :)) For the nth time, I want to reiterate that I am not a writer. So forgive my grammar. I just love sharing to my readers my makeup musings and bits of my life. :) (No there is no secondly and thirdly na..hehe)


Moving on, I was sent by Khei Shop two items for review. She was supposed to give me NYX Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink but I opted for Summer Breeze. I have enough SHOCKING pink lipstick shades for now. :) I thought that this was  a medium pink shade as reviewed by another blogger.For me the shade is a light-medium pink with loads of blue undertone. Like a Nicki Minaj-ish pink color. 


I have always been drawn to matte lipsticks because they do not stain my teeth!! This is indeed matte but very creamy.  It glides really well on the lips. I am comparing this lipstick to the Ever Bilena Matte Lipsticks which are really dry and super matte. This has a very subtle sweet scent but not as sweet like the NYX Black Label Lipsticks. 


This can be a bit drying on the lips so I see to it that I moisturize my lips really well before applying it. It does not stay long enough on my lips. I had to retouch after two-three hours. Also, when it fades, my lip color does not look even. This lipstick is very pigmented with one swipe but I love to put two layers of it for a fuller color. 

I love to try other shades! Like Audrey, Angel, Strawberry Daiquiri and Bloody Mary.

I am a bit disappointed with the Summer Breeze shade or perhaps I am just not used to light pink lippies. I imagine that  this will look divine on someone with fair skin. On me, I looked so washed out when I wear this alone or even with a blush. However, I will definitely pair this shade with smokey eyes and bronzed cheeks!! 

This is the true shade on my lips. See how pigmented it is? My dark lip lines were very well concealed with its color!

Follow me! Unravelling My New Found Affair with Twitter and Instagram

I have been a Nokia user for a decade. No camera. No wifi or whatever you call it where you can connect your cel to the internet. Haha
Bf gifted me with an Iphone when I passed the bar. I was nonchalant about it. Besides, I was never a techie person. I can live without having a luxurious looking cellphone. However, I figure that being a lawyer, I must look damn expensive. LOL (I am fail on this as I tend to dress like a normal employee except when I have a hearing). 

I was not into my Iphone until BF upgraded it last weekend. Saying goodbye to my "I am a very private person, Twitter are for those who want their lives on publicized. Facebook is enough publicity for me. " haha Yup, that was my line when my friends ask me why I am not using my Twitter often. haha.. Oh well I am just going around the bush.. I just want to say that I am now actively using Twitter and Instagram, why not hit the follow button for me! haha

Neutrogena Event Feat. Latest Products

Hello everyone!! how was your weekend?  I would always wake up with grumpy mood on Mondays. I hate Mondays from the day I started to have a job. Haha Now, I know why people love Fridays! :) A while ago, upon opening my eyes, I felt that it was raining. The cool weather made me want to stop my phone alarm and I vehemently  tried to get 15 minutes more of fake sleep.

Fake sleep = awake but intentionally shutting both eyes to catch sleep.

Just my random thoughts.

I was supposed to do this post last week. However, I was in Iloilo for two days with no wifi in my room. Hence, the late post. I was thrilled when Czar contacted me for another Hydroboost event. I love the Hydroboost gel moisturizer when they released it last year. I had super dry skin but it work well on my skin. I went to the event with Say. We decided to go together since the company where she had her OJT was just near my office. From the moment we met at El Pueblo from the time I dropped her off at Galleria, we never stopped chatting. When I arrived at the place, I was amazed on how Neutrogena put everything so well together.

The event was filled with activities where we get to learn more of the Hydroboost gel benefits.

There are two test that I enjoyed the most. One is this one where they will apply brand X on the back of your hand and Neutrogena Hydroboost on the other. Then they sprinkled Styrofoam balls (I do not know what they are called). Then  styrofoam balls got stuck to the hand with brand x because they are very greasy and will take minutes to completely dry. Look at Say in this picture! 

Another test that was really amazing was the Oily Imprint Test. Here you can see that oil blotting paper with Neutrogena on it was completely dried after hours and the other blotting paper still looked wet as if oil was splattered on it. Yay! Imagine that your moisturizer is Brand X and you are literally putting more oil on your face!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Ultra Foam Cleanser

Effecttively removes 99% of dirt, oil, dead skin  and impurities from the skin with a velvety foam.

I can still remember that I used the Deep Clean Variant of Neutrogena way back in college. It came in a usual tube with dark brown honey-ish color. It was absolutely one of the most horrendous products I have tried back then. I have super dry skin and after using it, it made my skin so tight! Knowing that Neutrogena changed the formulation made me excited to try this product.I am not fond of foam cleansers because I still have that fear that it might dry my skin more. I am already testing the Pink Grapefruit. Full review on these cleansers will be posted soon. 

I am extremely excited with these one. The Hydro Boost Gel is now equipped with the much coveted SPF 30 to protect our skin from the harsh sun rays. No icky sticky feel. Just that gentle light formula! I will start using this tomorrow!!This costs 830 pesos. Detailed review on this soon.

And of course, another jar of heaven!!! I love this!! So much.. One of the best moisturizer I have tried. :))

Officially Missing Playing with Shades and Hues

I feel old. Do not get me wrong I am not experiencing a quarter life crisis just yet. It is just that I miss those days when I lock myself in my room and play with makeup. Haha I attempted to do a look today. It looks so bland.The lack luster feel of it made me erase every single photo but I left this one for this post.  Waahh,,, I should do more Fotds since there are no photos of my works anymore.. I need inspiration. I do not want to immerse myself with annulment cases anymore. Haha I feel so stressed hearing marital  problems! It does not help me in coping with my relationship right now.

When asked by my boss "are you now losing faith in marriage?"

My answer: Hell no! I am LOSING FAITH IN MEN. :))

Anyways, hopefully I can create and recreate more looks soon.

Btw, I do not wear eye makeup in the office. You would rarely see me with eyeshadow on. That's why I miss playing with makeup. Haha
