Revlon Nearly Naked: Review with Photos (Before and After)

It seems that drugstore makeup have been leveling up their products recently. Revlon has been in the upper echelon in the drugstore arena because of the new and drool worthy products that they have been recently launching in the market. I am impressed with Revlon Foundations lately. I have tried their whipped and mousse foundations. However, up until now, I have not yet bought their infamous Colorstay foundation in the right shade. I do not know why Philippines does not carry the shade Golden Beige.  When sis Juju of Kitshop offered me this foundation for review purposes, I could not say no. I really wanted to try a foundation that claims to be ''nearly naked'' on the skin. Also, I have that strong inkling that once this foundation is out in the market, the price will definitely be twice as that of the US Price.

I got this last two weeks ago. Honestly, it was not love at first try. I got the shade medium beige which I think is perfect for my NC35 skin. Too perfect that when I used my fingers to apply this foundation, I think I applied too much like 3 layers. Why? Because I felt that the foundation just disappeared and just melted on my skin. I know I should get thrilled, right? On the contrary, I was utterly dismayed. I was used to wearing foundations with medium coverage or foundations that have a tad bit lighter color than my skin's. Thus, when I first tried it. I  found nothing spectacular about it. I used my fingers in applying this foundation and I was about to give up and write a purely negative blog post about this foundation, then, I tried applying it my Charm Stippling Brush. And to my surprise, the foundation applied flawlessly on my face. This is the only liquid foundation that works best on my skin with the use of a brush but I still use my fingers to blend out the foundation.
I got the shade in Medium Beige which is perfect for those with strong yellow tones.

The Product Review

The foundation is housed in a glass bottle which looks very neat. It does not come with a pump dispenser and I find the bottle opening too big for a foundation with a liquidy texture. The texture is runny but not watery. It is very easy to blend and applies smoothly on the skin. Like what it claims, this foundation is truly nearly naked on the skin. It feels super lightweight, lighter than all the bb creams I have tried. It almost felt like I do not have any foundation on. This is great for everyday wear. This did not clog my pores nor caused my skin any rashes. Coverage is light to medium but not medium per se. I hope you get I mean.  You can get away with 1-2 layers. 3 layers is too much and applying 3 or more layers will not make a big difference in terms of coverage.  It does great job of giving my face an even and flawless finish. You can refer to photos below. It reduces redness on my skin but did nothing remarkable in covering my dark circles. It gave me a natural finish or a clean look giving my skin a slight dewy glow. This is not good in oil control especially on humid days. It stays on my face four hours provided I set it with powder. I tried  The best thing about this foundation, is that this is the only foundation which I can use without moisturizer underneath without highlighting the dryness of my skin. It blends very well on the skin even without the help of a moisturizer, primer or sunblock.

This is my face without any makeup. As evidenced by this photo, I have uneven and blotchy skin.

I use a stippling brush in applying this foundation. I have yet to try applying this with a foundation brush.
This foundation has SPF 20 but look no white cast!!!! Great Jodb Revlon (Photo Taken with flash)
My dark circles are not covered really well this foundation made my skin look flawless right?

This is me after 8-9 hours using this foundation, I used Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder on the right side of my face and Palgantong Theatrical Powder on the right side. I was doing an experiment to compare the staying  and oil control power of Ben Nye Powder compared to other finishing powders.

Overall, I think this foundation is perfect for everyday wear. I reach for this more than my BB Creams. I do not recommend it to people who wants extra coverage but it is a must try for those who loves lightweight foundations.

This foundation costs only 500 pesos at http://kitshop.multiply.com/.
