August Hit List

August has been a very busy month for me. I have never been busy my entire legal career. (haha) I took home work and worked my ass off until late at night. So, whenever I have no blog updates, I would either be working, resting, dating or just being plain lazy. This month, I got to try a lot of new products from different brands but I also revisited some of the products I have that are just sitting in my makeup drawers.

So here are my favorites for August:
Vanilla and Co. Witch Hazel Tonic
My new facial mist is this local Vanilla & Co. Witch Hazel Beauty Tonic. . I was supposed to do my own concoction of facial mist by mixing water and tea tree oil but bought this instead because it contains witch hazel and tea tree exact. If you still do not the benefits of witch hazel and tea tree extract on your skin, then you might as well google it asap. I learned from the Physiogel Event through a GSK Dermatologist that the shorter the list of ingredients are, the better. This mist only has 6 ingredients, all of which are natural and organic. Fore reference the ingredients are: Water, Witch Hazel Extract, Tea Tree Extract, Lemon Extract, Peppermint Extract and Vitamin C. The atomizer works so well that I did not transfer it to another bottle. The spray distributes the product all over m face really well. The mist has a subtle ginger scent. So, imagine spraying your face with salabat. :) I use this after applying my face makeup and it makes my face look less powdery. It helps my makeup settle very well but does nothing to make it last longer.
A 150 ml bottle costs 200 pesos.
Colour Collection Whitening BB Cream
I got this bb cream from Sampleroom. I have heard a lot of raves from Colour Collection lipstick but I have never heard about this bb cream. This has got to be the closest bb cream to my skin tone. (Just one tone lighter) Most BB creams are two-three shades lighten than my NC35 skintone. This also has a yellow undertone that makes it very suitable to my medium skin. This goes on creamy and evens out my skin tone very well. The light-semi medium coverage makes it perfect for everyday wear due. More on this soon. I will make a more detailed review on this one.

Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Film Type
I got a surprise from Fairydrops a few weeks back. They sent me their newest Platinum Film Type Mascara. The brush of this mascara is truly one of a kind. It is one of those mascaras that can hold my curl for almost a day. I have documented this and I will make sure I will blog about it anytime soon. It gives my lashes volume and it also adds a bit of length.

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
This is probably the best liquid concealer I have ever tried. The coverage is truly amazing and the lasting power is just awesome. It does not crease and only costs 299 pesos! This mascara is such a great deal. Click here for a more detailed review.
Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Erase
I had this Maybelline Pore skin for quite some time now. I never got the chance to use it often after reviewing it. This products has been getting a lot of buzz in the Youtube community and I tried using it again. I love the fact that it makes my skin super smooth after application. It creates a flawless canvass for foundation. I have suffering from rashes lately and this primer helps in smoothening out the righ and dry areas on my face, making my rashes less visible. More on this product here
Avon True Color in Chocolate Sensation
This is currently my favorite eyeshadow quad. I carry it my makeup kit for a quick glam up solution. The colors are perfect for everyday wear and hands down to pigmentation. It is not powdery and goes on very creamy when applied.  Swatches of the Avon True Color Quads soon on my blog.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain in Honey
My go to everyday lippie. This is very long lasting and pigmented. The shade Honey glides to a mauvey pink shade on my lips with a sheen but leaves a reddish tint on  my lips.

Makeup Factory Automatic Eyeliner in No. 03
This goes on creamy and stays forever on the lid and waterline with minimal fading. The pigmentation is also great and No. 3 does not look too harsh compared to the shade black. It has built in sharpener and smudger  .

What is your favorite beauty/skin care product last month?
Hope to hear from you.

Have a blessed day!

  2. I would love to try that Vanilla and Co product :) Pro I think it will be also nice to concoct my version of facial spray! You gave me a great idea! I have tea tree oil here with me, I think it will be awesome together with purified water and my dickinson's witch hazel toner. Salamat sa idea! I also love the Revlon kissable balm stain in Honey...it like your lips but better type of color. Its been my go-to lipstick and its been in my make-up bag since I bought it. hahaha!! xoxo-Vanitinx

  3. I love the Colour Collection BB Cream too! I use it everyday sa work kasi almost full coverage na sya. Concealer na lang sa under eye then okay na sya, unlike before na I had to cover up some acne scars pa. I'm also using the Maybelline Pore Eraser, it's easier kasi to use the BB Cream with the pore eraser, feeling ko ang dali nya i-spread. Pero I'm not sure if it really erases my pores.. :/

My favorites for this month are my Avon lipstick in hibiscus from GB, Colour Collection BB Cream and Etude House eyebrow pencil. simple-simplehan lang. hihi..

  4. Is Collection available in the Philippines? This is the same Collection that UK beauty bloggers rave about, right? Coz I need to get some of those concealers! @o@

  5. I tried the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Erase and it worked wonders to my skin. Kahit papano, okay naman yung effect niya sakin. And my mom bought me Avon True Color in Chocolate Sensation because she knows how much I love the simple & natural colors. I bought the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Erase, Hayan BB cream, a Revlon lipstick & Avon eyebrow liner last month :)

  7. I've always been raving for that pore eraser from Maybelline. I've passed by a blog weeks ago and I love how it is comparable to Benefit Porefessional. I have an eyeshadow quad from Avon but its the purple one. Would love to try this palette because I so love earth-tones. I was saddened when I wasn't able to grab a sample of that CC bb Cream from SR :( But I got a chance to try their lipstick and personally, I don't like it for myself. I only use it for my clients. Thanks for this list Ms. D!

  8. True! I also prefer products with a short ingredients list. I believe a product doesn't need a boatload of chemicals and additives for it to work effectively. For example, wet wipes--some have long ingredients lists comprised of a lot of chemicals, while some only list spunlace (the cloth itself), water, and propylene glycol (a humectant; helps keep the wipes damp). Of course I'd go for the one with only three ingredients!

  11. I'm actually quite surprised that Avon now has great pigmentation on their shadows. :) That's so nice. I've started buying my makeup from Avon from years back and I think I'd be trying them out again soon. :)

Sayang di ko inabot ang BB cream na to sa Sample Room. Still praying na magbalik sila ng stocks hahahaha..
