Holy Grail Alert: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Before going to makeup school, I can apply everything using my fingers from foundation down to eye shadow. I simply love the ease of using my fingers to warm up the products (esp. foundation and concealer) and using my fingers trims down my makeup application process. I have seen tons of youtube gurus (bloggers included) raved about the infamous beauty blender. Then, I entered makeup school. My teachers were all using wet sponge to blend out the foundation. I love how it seamlessly blends the foundation and concealer like second skin. The technique is using a damp sponge and learning this technique was life changing for me. Even Jes Roque noticed the difference when I used a damp sponge in blending her foundation (when she became my model during makeup class). Now, I can not live without a damp sponge to perfect my base makeup application. I was certain of getting the Beauty Blender or the Makeup Forever Sponge until I saw a video about the newest Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. The video compared this sponge with the beauty blender. It is not a dupe but it gives out the same effect. Luckily, Vanity Zone sells this baby at such an awesome price. I got it for 485 pesos with shipping.
The sponge itself has a queer shape. It is elongated and has a flat
surface and rounder one at the other end.
Looking at it, it looks like an ordinary sponge. The magic happens after wetting the sponge.
Once water seeps through the sponge, the sponge expands, it becomes more bouncier and  malleable. It is nothing like those beauty blender wannabes that are compact and feels so rubbery on the skin.

This sponge is so easy to use and it makes my foundation look so natural. Imagine achieving an airbrush look by just dabbing this sponge lightly all over your base makeup. The shape rounded end is perfect in applying concealer and for contouring (if you do wet application). The flat side works like a stippling brush but better. It feels so soft and gentle on the skin too. Unlike normal sponges in the market, this does not suck up foundation or concealer. I tried using this on my aunt and she instantly love this sponge. She has been bugging me to buy her one. lol.. The only downside is that I am having a hard time cleaning this sponge because of the stains left by that the foundation and/or concealer.

Overall, I super duper love this sponge. It has made my base makeup application easier. I use this for blending my foundation, concealer and even darker shade of cream foundation for contouring. I use this in a patting motion (like using a stippling brush) to get that flawless look. I am getting a back up after the holidays (bankrupt mode, thanks to my god children.. hehe) I highly recommend this to all my readers. For its price, it is a great knockoff for the beauty blender.

Happy Holidays to all!
