Avon Skin Goodness Color Corrector Cream

I finally joined the CC Cream band wagon. Thanks to Avon who was generous enough to send me a bag of goodies last summer. Liz of Project Vanity said in her blog post that this was similar to Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance. I gave this a shot and it took me over a month to like this product. For base makeup, I am a huge fan of medium to full coverage products. I prefer BB creams or Foundations that cover up everything. When I mean everything.. I seriously mean everything. Yes, those mask like foundations is heaven sent to me. Hence, my love for the MAC Studio Fix for years. I can wear that foundation everyday!!haha I do not like my skin peeping through at all. I know.. I know... I am a self-confessed funda addict (foundation addict). Going back to this CC Cream, I was not expecting much from this product. When I swatched it, it looked so sheer not even light. I had to load up two layers on my skin to get my desired coverage.
Avon CC Cream in Light unblended on my skin.

The shade light is a neutral color that does not have ashy or grayish tones. This CC Cream gives me that illuminating effect sans the shimmer. This product is truly an instant skin brightener.  It can not cover my blemishes BUT it make my skin looked better and glowing. The formula is breathable and lightweight. Perfect for everyday wearI love the SPF 50 PA ++ in this product. Despite the high SPF, it does not give off that weird white cast in flash photography. This product is a multitasker for me. I can use it as a primer, as a tinted moiturizer and a sunscreen replacement. Whenever I use, I skip sunblock/sunscreen in my routine. Also, I can mix it with my other thicker and heavy coverage foundations to achieve a more natural finish.
A before and after shot. Without CC Cream and with CC cream.

My dull skin looked glowing after applying the CC Cream. My powder adheres better on my skin through out the day. Staying power is good not great. Also, I think that this CC Cream is also hydrating because I did not experience any dry patches whenever I use this product.

Over all, I really like this product. It does not have the coverage that I want but it makes my skin really look good. The finish is very natural and give a my skin but better look. I did not experience any break outs or rashes using this product. The sad thing is it is only 18 grams and I am almost through with one tube. For 399 pesos, I think that is a bit pricey because of the amount of product you will get.

P.S. If you are looking for a product that will cover your blemishes, this one is not for you.

What do you think? Is it a yay or a nay?

  1. I feel like it's pricey for such a small tube. :/ Your skin looked brighter after applying this CC cream though.

  3. It's a nay for me. I think it gives a light pink shiny finish that doesn't look natural or well-blended. Thanks for the review!

  5. I might never be able to understand the double-letter face base trend. I prefer a shade that fit me perfectly.

  10. i would buy this if this is a true blue cc cream. Meaning, if it would correct the blemishes, hyperpigmentation with continuous use, I would give this a shot but if its just another bb cream plus moisturizer type then pass muna ako.

  12. i haven't tried any CC creams yet but i have one from avon too... but not this one, the other variant with the silver box... i haven't used it yet because i still have so many opened bb creams... i'm trying to use them all up before opening up another tube of bb/cc/tinted moisturizer churvaloo... hehehe... but from what i've read, CC creams are just color correctors and they don't give much of a coverage... so i think of it sort of as a primer and i wouldn't wear it alone unlike bb creams...

    1. BB cream is used to hide imperfections such as discoloration, pimples, acne marks and others while a CC cream is used to brighten up your face. it's more of a color corrector. Or at least that's what I've read in other blogs :)
