5 Products That Did Not Work For Me

Okay. You have been seeing a lot of faves of the month from a lot of bloggers. Geez.. Konting negativity naman diyan! #jokelang hehe I just want to show my readers products that did not work for me. If I say "did not work for me", this meant - based on my personal experience on these products. As my caveat on my side bar says, this is based on my own opinion. Products that may work me, may not for you or vice versa. Okay, let's start the list.
When I got this, I was super duper thrilled as in mega gamit ko agad when I got home. On my first attempt, it stung my eyes a bit. I told myself "ay baka I have tired eyes lang". It also did not remove my mascara very well. Then, next day came. I thought to myself, I might be doing it wrong because I am wiping my eyes, so gently press naman ang lola niyo for a few minutes to soak my lashes with the product pero I am so sorry. Waley talaga. It did not work for me. Though, a few superb points on this product are: very light on the skin because it is water based. It removes foundation and powder very well. As in ang linis ng fez ko, however, I like makeup removers that can remove both face makeup and eyemakeup (esp. mascara).
Next, on my list is the Color Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick. Texture and Pigmentation-- WINNER! But hey, this product stains badly on my lips. And I do not know if its just me (because I am acidic.. Yes, I am finally accepting the fact that I am acidic. in denial ako for the longest time pramis!) or was it because of the product formula that causes the lipstick to change color on my lips. For example, the light peach shade would turn darker after a few hours on my lips. This turns into a lip stain especially the darker and vibrant shades are very hard to remove. It stained my lips for one day and my lips super dry. My only remedy was to peel off the chapped skin.  :(
Essence Lip Liners
This is one of the most affordable lipliners available locally. They have great color selections and I immediately bought 5 in one go. The pigmentation is that of a creme lipstick but the texture is too creamy for a lip liner. Nalulurki ako pag gamit ko siya! My gulay ha I tried everything like putting it in the fridge and letting it harden first before using it or slowly sharpening it so that it will not break easily. Sadly, it just did not work.
Revlon Colorstay Powder has been much raved by Beauty Gurus in the US. Siyempre ako naman si fangirl, I developed a lemming for this powder. This just did not work for my dry skin. It looked way too cakey and patchy in setting my undereye concealer. I find Avon Ideal Control Powder way better.
PIXI Volumizing Waterproof Mascara
This PIXY mascara is really hard to remove. This is the only waterproof mascara that does not come off with my Pond's Cold Cream. I know right hindi kinaya ng powers ng Pond's ko. hehe And it can not be easily removed by water and facial wash also. :(

On my future post, I will try  find the five high end products that did not work for me. With the few high end items in my stash I hope to find five to share with you. :)

Have a blessed night to all.

  1. Essence's lipstick also melts very easily. It's too bad because I liked it a lot, but it can't stand up to the Philippine weather. I like posts like this; they're a refreshing change from the usual favorites posts.

  3. Color Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick also oxidizes on my lips. The revlon colorstay works for my oily skin. One of the best powders for me. The happyskin makeup remover works for my waterproof mascara naman. Paubos na nga eh, pero not repurchasing soon.

  5. Ok this is a good series :P I like CC UWL! Some of them stain, some don't. I prefer if they all did, hehehe. With the darker colors, it looks so ugly when it rubs off tapos walang stain. Masyadong madungis! Haven't used too many colors to know if the lighter ones will turn dark on me. I'm gonna keep an eye out for that.

  7. Happy Skin's water-based makeup remover works for me but you're right - it does not work on my waterproof mascaras. It's also so expensive for a tiny 100ml-bottle.

  8. Same here! I don't reach for my color collection lipstick in queen bee anymore. long wearing nga pero super stain naman sa lips.

  9. baliktad tayo... i like that the CC lippies stain... hahahaha... i don't retouch my makeup kasi, whenever i do use makeup... but i do agree with you that some shades change their colors on the lips... the Angelic one looks like a pretty mauve on the tube but when applied it appears to be a vibrant pink... and the two reds, Queen Bee and Temptress are kinda weird for me... but i love Head Turner, pink kung pink! hehehehe...

  16. Refreshing post! I love reading rave reviews, but I also want to see a few nega ones out there. Especially if it has been given raves by most beauty bloggers. Di naman ako evil, I just want both sides of the coin. Looking forward to reading your high end version of this. :)

  17. Hi Ms. Donna what do you do for products that doesnt suits you? Do you give them to others po ba?

  18. Same here, I want a makeup remover that can do the job on both base and point makeup. Hassle lang din pag two separate products pa gamit eh. I prefer to use Bifesta nalang. ;)

  19. same experience with the colour collection ultimate wear lipsticks. I almost completed their newest shades. When i read lots of good reviews on it, I immediately hoarded 4 lippies. it's very long lasting. but kinabukasan, it's very visible na nagddry na yung lips. nabasa ko pa man din sa ibang reviews na nakaka moisturize pa daw. hmmm i'm quite disappointed. -_-
