Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer Review and Swatches

Just a little kwento, I have a very pretty friend from law school who wears Burt's Bees Rhubarb. For years, I would always ask her whenever we get out for lunch or dinner, "Burt's Bees pa rin yan?" hehe And of course, she would reply a big yes. Ang kulit ko lang kasi paulit ulit ako. To my mind, for her to keep buying this product over and over and over again for years, this product must be really something diba? Enough of my kwento,
I intimated to Sophie that I can't wait for their Burt's Bees
Sample in Sampleroom run called #NatureKnowsColor. Sampleroom sent me five shades and
I felt the need to post a review on these lip shimmers because this products is
perfect for girls from all ages from teens to working ladies to mommies!

These lip shimmers contain Vitamin E, Beeswax, Sunflower and Coconut Oils. It invigorates the lips with its peppermint flavor.

These lip shimmers are basically tinted lip balms with an attitude. Compared to conventional
tinted balms, this has micro shimmers in it. Rhubarb is the only shade that has less
frost/shimmer in it.

Due to the shimmers, this has the slightest hint of grittiness in it especially the shades Raisin and Fig. Also due to that shimmers, the color tends not to look uneven on the lips so make sure you blend the product carefully to evenly distribute the color.
The colors range from light to deep tones. This lip shimmers glide smoothly on the lips and it works as a lipbalm too. The light shades can be used as top coat on your regular lipsticks or can be used alone depending on your natural lip color. I, for example have naturally dark lines, thus, the shade watermelon does not look good on my lips. The deeper tones look perfect alone with or without the use of a lip liner. Those with deeper tones like Rhubarb and Raisin leaves a tint on my and lasts longer than the rest of the shades. All shades are very moisturizing and my lips does not dry out whenever I use them.

The packaging comes in a slim tube that can be easily slipped through the pockets of bags and kikay kits. It contains 2.6 grams of product. What I noticed is that once you twist the product out from the tube, it does not retract back. My lip shimmer in "Fig" broke because of this. Tsk
Here are the lip swatches with corresponding shade description:
Caramel is a beautiful nude shade with bronze sheen to it. I never thought that it would work on my dark lips. This looks so good on photos because of the light reflecting micro shimmers in it. It does not look fake or unnatural when worn and works best on of any lipstick or alone.
Fig is definitely a my lips but better shade. It has micro shimmers that is not noticeable compared to Caramel. Out of the 5 shades I have on hand, Fig looks more of a lipstick because of its awesome pigmentation. The shade is a warm peachy brown shade perfect for Filipinas.
Raisin is a deep ruby red with strong reflective reddish magenta shimmer. It looks so pretty on the tube but can be bit tricky to apply. Due to its shimmer, it has the tendency to look uneven once applied on the lips. This is best used with a lip liner to avoid bleeding.
Ohh the famous Rhubarb!!This is my friend's fave lip product and I must say this is like a tinted lip balm/stain/lipstick. The color is very buildable. I love the fact that it does not have shimmer in it or if ever it has shimmers (completely unnoticeable). This glides easily on the lips and looks so pretty even as it wears off. One of the few berry pink shades that fiance approves of because it looks so natural on the lips.
Watermelon is a light pink shade that does not work for me really well. Blame my dark lip lines. In this picture, the shade may seem ok but in person it look weird on me.

Overall, I love these lip shimmers!! I have naturally dry and chapped lips almost all the time and this one is perfect for me because it is moisturizing and tinted. I also skip lipbalms whenever I use them. If you would ask me what shade to get, I will definitely say Rhubarb and Fig. :)

Have a blessed day to all!
