What's New: Makeup Revolution

There is a newest makeup brand in town. Makeup Revolution was founded in 2014 in London.  I was so happy that they contacted me for review purposes. I was actually hoping they would let me choose the products (ang arte lang noh?) then, I figured that they  will choose the products for me to review. O sige na para suspense este surprise. :) I received their Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter and the Makeup Revolution Lipctick in Mistify. The Highlighter reminded me of the Too Faced Sweethearts Blush because of the heart shape and packaging.

Upon opening the box, I immediately noticed that the shade of the highlighter is light peach with bluish pink iridescence. I initially had doubts on this highlighter because I have very strong yellow undertones and the blue tones might look off or unnatural on me.
Despite being a baked highlighter, my fingers can immediately pick up the color on the pan but it is not as creamy. It is best applied with the use of a brush specifically a brush made of animal hair.
When applied, this gives off a very beautiful sunlit glow on the skin. You can refer to the photo below and previous FOTD post. I applied this on the tops of my cheeks and on the bridge and tip of my nose. It looks so beautiful on photograph and it made my skin dewy. Also, what I like about it is that it did not emphasize my flaky skin and this is also long lasting. This only costs 550 pesos and a little goes a long way with this product.
The next one is this Makeup revolution Lipstick in Mistify. This is a very affordable lipstick for only 110 pesos. The price is very competitive vis-a-vis the local brands such as Ever Bilena, Nichido and Fashion 21. The packaging is surprisingly good and does not feel and look 110 pesos at all.

The shade Mistify is a semi frosted pinky peach shade. It goes on creamy and opaque. Despite its frosted finish, it made a good job of covering my dark lip lines without the help of a lip liner. I did not find this lipstick longwearing but it did not dry out my lips.
Here is a swatch of the lipstick at the back of my hand and a lip swatch.

Overall, I am very much excited about Makeup Revolution. I was browsing their website a while back and they have a lot of promising products.

Godbless!

  3. Wow, Makeup Revolution is suddenly everywhere! And looks like they're entering the makeup business head on. They've set up a Malaysia internet ordering site as well and it is very fast. I ordered last Wednesday and received it the next day which is quite a pleasant surprise. :)
