Maybelline The Nudes Palette Review + Swatches
I have mentioned numerous times that I will be doing my own makeup on my wedding. (at alam kong sawa na kayo na marinig ito. Chill lang malapit na ang kasal ko!! hehe) That being said, I once again became interested with eyeshadow palettes. In case you do not know, I rarely wear eye makeup (except mascara) for everyday wear. From the time I have decided to do my own wedding makeup, I am in a hunt for a good eyeshadow palette. Of course, being the complex person that I am, I found the eyeshadows that I will from different palettes. One palette that I am very thankful that landed on my doorstep is the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. I never thought this will be available locally since almost all of my favorite Youtube Gurus have already raved about this product since last year. This palette only costs 675 pesos. Not bad for a palette that contains 12 shades mostly neutrals and warm tones. The colors are very wearable. I can use this for daytime and even create gorgeous smokey eyes with the shades.
It comes with an eyeshadow applicator which is not useful in my opinion unless you just needed to pack on the color on your lid. The eyeshadows in this palette are fairly pigmented especially the darker tones and the shimmery ones. I also noticed that the matte black and the dark taupe looks a bit streaky and patchy, thus, making it very tricky to apply. This palette works best with a primer underneath because the primer will make the colors look fuller. Surprisingly, this is not powdery but the mattes shades are a bit hard to pick up. The shimmery tones are buttery and soft in texture. The colors are very blendable.

The product quality is not at par with my favorite Urban Decay Eyeshadows but for a drugstore, I really think that this palette is very nice. I highly recommend this for those budget seekers. It is also a great start up palettes for makeup beginners because it contains both shimmery and mattes shades. As for me, I am planning to use some shades on my big day and also on my prenuptial photoshoot happening this week. As for staying power, the colors stay on my lid for hours even without any primer. (Take note I have dry skin)

This is my go-to eyeshadow palette when I am on a hurry. :) I did this eye makeup for less than ten minutes.
What do you think of this palette? Have you tried it?

You look lovely! What brush did you use? If not the one provided in the palette
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty palette that comes with the shades that are wearable. A much cheaper too than the other brand. The time when maybelline released this, I'm very interested and wanted to have this on my stash. Though I don't wear eyeshadows but I'm starting to think to try out especially when I saw one of your fotd. Parang ang dali ng gawin pero I know it's hard but still I realize paano ako matututo if wala ako eyeshadow na pwede ko gamitin. Hehe. This review is a perfect timing to push me more:D anyway, push mo rin na ikaw na magmakeup sa sarili mo on your wedding day. I know you will be beautiful on your special day:)
ReplyDeleteI super adore your palette here since I am always using browns too every time I go out.
ReplyDeleteI first saw this palette sa Make up dream academy ikaw po yung speaker nun (nahiya lang talaga ako lumapit at magpakilala...nagsisisi na ako promise). Ate Donnarence ang galing galing po ninyo sa eye make up sayang nga lang di ko na makita yung mga dating photos :'(.
ReplyDeletePlease share your prenup photos! :)
ReplyDeleteI like earth colors, you'll never go wrong with it. Anyways - kelan nga kasal mo sis? talagang ikaw gagawa ng make-up mo in your wedding day? it will not stress you out? dapat chill lang...i mean...sit back and relax...its your big day di ba? :)
ReplyDeleteI love the shades, perfect for everyday and even beginners can pull this off.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! <3 <3 Such a pretty palette. How did you find the staying power? Mine seems to disappear quick as a flash no matter what i try :(
