Preview of Engagement/Prenup Photos Plus Makeup Products that I Used

(Ang tamis!! Walang halong acting, Fiance was actually teasing me in this photo so totoong kinilig ang lola niyo dito!bwahaha #arte)

Ola!!! I'm back! It has been days or more than a week since you last heard from me and I was too busy preparing for our engagement photoshoot. Compared to other bride to be and couples out there, we did not hire any stylist and hair/makeup artist on that day not because we do not want to but it is because we do not have any budget for that. I must say being the model and hmua in one is truly quite tiring. I praise God, He gave me that much needed skill and strength to do my makeup under pressure and inside a moving vehicle. hihi. The only time I get to retouch was inside our van and in between shoots. Nakakaloka!! Ang hirap pala maging artista. hahaha

I wanted to share with you some of my engagement photos. I am so happy with the results. Ruffa and Mike were terrific on that day. I know I post selfies and photos of myself on this blog but it takes retakes upon retakes to get the perfect shot. I was surprised that these awesome husband and wife duo did a wonderful job in capturing our best angles and making us feel comfortable throughout the shoot. At first, I felt so hesitant in posing but I immediately grew relaxed with our photographers. They were super nice. I could not wait to see the rest of our photos and I am confident that I have chosen the best photographers for my wedding.
During this photoshoot, I had the chance to test out some of the products in my makeup stash that I will be using for my wedding day. Here are some of the products that I used during the shoot:

1. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent - I have been a fan of the Palgantong Theatrical powder and buying this setting powder was out of peer pressure from Youtube Gurus. haha There are a lot of raves for this powder and I will not contest that it is indeed one of the best setting powder. This feels so light, smooth and velvety on the skin. Once applied, it feels like nothing on the skin but does a great job of setting my makeup especially concealers on my under eyes. It prevents concealers from creasing. Also, this is not cakey at all and does not add any color or coverage on my makeup but just sets my makeup base. My foundation looked more intact and my base makeup looked like skin when set this powder.

2.Etude House Curl Fix Mascara - Check out my review here
3. City Color Contour Effects 2 - Check out my review here
4. KPalette 24H Real Lasting EyeBrow Liner in No. 2 - It is only now after 3 years that I had the chance this much raved about product from KPalette. Pero sabi nga nila, better late than never! I love this brow liner. This creates the most cleanest and sharpest brows. It is very easy to work with and lasts all day on me!!! Compared to its counterparts like the dual ended brow products of Kpalette, this lasting liquid brow liner is more pigmented.
5. Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer in Ginger Plus MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC30- I love this combo. The Nars is thicker and a bit drier in texture while the Pro Longwear has a more emolient consistency. This combo covered up my dark under eyes very well and did crease throughout the whole day. Pero winner si Mac Pro Longwear talaga. I do not mind using it as my full makeup base because the coverage is awesome.
6. MAC Studiofix in NC30 plus L'oreal Pro Matte Infallible liquid foundation  in Golden Beige - The first time I use the L'oreal Foundation, I was not impressed at all. It made my skin drier and highlighted my dry patches. However, I do love its staying power and pigmentation. I decided to try it again with a different application technique - damp sponge and I applied a slightly heavier moisturizer underneath - Voila! This foundation looked super nice on my skin. I mixed it with my all time holy grail Mac Studiofix for added coverage.
7. Red Cherry Lashes in 213 - This was given to my DTC Makeup - http://www.dtcmakeup.com/ I saw a lot of mua for the stars using this and I am impressed with how light it feels. Also, the band is thin enough making the application such a breeze.
8. Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray in Bridal -  This is a must have if you want to achieve a long lasting makeup. It sealed my makeup into place. I love how the product is properly diffused on my skin because the atomizer of this spray is really good. I also got this from Digital Traincase /DTC.
9. Ellana Let's Make It Last Primer- I do not know if Ellana changed their formula, but this particular primer has grains. It felt like the primer when rub onto the skin develops grainy particles. Despite this, it does its amazing job of keeping my base makeup for a long time. My only problem is that it did not make my pores look smaller.
10. The Balm Marylou Manizer - I decided to bring this highlighter for emergency cases. haha I knew it was getting dark during our last photo op run at the beach (it was sunset). I decided to rub this baby on my shoulders and collar bone. Swept some on my cheeks and on my nose, and look how glowing I look on the first photo. Wagi!!! I love this product. I am super happy I brought this with me because it gave me that glow. :)
For my base makeup, I applied my foundation and concealer using this beauty blender dupe from Saizen. This is quite hard and rubbery but it surprisingly made my base makeup looked airbrush and flawless! Winner to. Although, I will be buying a beauty blender for my big day instead of using this.

  1. Hi Donna, thanks for sharing your makeups, I'm actually interested with your brows when you first posted your prenup photos on facebook. You look so pretty and the makeup is not overdone compared to other prenup shoots I saw.

God bless to both of you :)

  4. Nabitin ako sa pictures! Hehe ito yung inaantay ko eh. I will be doing my own makeup and hair sa prenuptial at wedding ko since tight budget kami, and another reason is, feeling ko magiiba mukha ko pag kumuha ako ng mua. You look great, naexcite tuloy ako sa prenuptial namin next year. Congrats Donn!
