Review: L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation 24H (with comparison to the L'oreal Pro Matte Foundation)

l'oreal infallible stay fresh foundation
The L'oreal Infallible Liquid Foundation is finally here in the Philippines!! Yay!!!In case you did not know, I had the Infallifable Pro Matte Foundation since November last year. I bought it online out of sheer curiosity because a beauty blogger told me that it was so good. True enough, I even used it as part of my tedious wedding makeup base and landed a spot on my 2015 Favorites -- http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2016/01/best-of-2015-makeup-edition.html I got the Infallible Pro Matte for 500 pesos or less plus shipping. When I attended a L'oreal Event, I can not help but ask the L'oreal team if they are bringing the Infallible Liquid Foundation in the Philippines. They said it was a surprise and I knew from the tone of their voices that Loreal Philippines will be bringing this foundation to our local beauty counters. Last two weeks ago, I gave in to my lemmings and grabbed a bottle of the stay fresh foundation in Megamall Watsons. Yay!!!

For this blog post, I will be focusing my review on the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation. However, I felt the need to compare it with my L'oreal Pro Matte due to insistent requests from some of my readers. Right off the bat I can tell you that the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh is different from the L'oreal Pro Matte.

******FYI: BOTH FOUNDATIONS WERE BOUGHT WITH MY OWN MONEY, THIS POST IS NOT SPONSORED*******

Before going to the review, let me give you a background on my skin condition: I have a yellow medium skin tone. In MAC, my shade is NC30. I have an acidic skin, thus, I usually purchase foundations or powder that are one shade lighter than my skin color. I have super dry and sensitive skin. Due to preganancy, my psoriasis flare ups got worse. I have psoriasis patches on my forehead and in between my brows and on the brow area.

L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation
Price: 700 pesos
When I saw this foundation at the Loreal counters I cant help but ask why is it different from my Pro Matte. I did a bit of research and the one in the bottle is the UK version. The Pro Matte  is the US Version.

l'oreal infallible stay fresh foundation
The L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation is housed in a sturdy bottle with pump. I love foundations with pump and the packaging is really hygienic. The pump dispenses product sparingly too and does not squirt too much foundation. I got the shade Golden Beige which is the second lightest shade. I forgot how many shade are available locally, I think there were 5 or 6. I had a hard time choosing my shade because the 3rd shade, Radiant Beige also disappeared on my chin when I tried it out. But knowing that my skin is acidic, I opted for the lighter shade. (Buti nalang!!! I made the right choice at hindi ako nakinig sa saleslady who was insistent that perfect shade for me is Radiant Beige).

The L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation has a very nice medium but buildable coverage. With one layer, it can instantly even out my skin tone and can even mask my dark bags. However, I need an extra layer on my red patches to completely cover them.  This has more pigmentation than the L'oreal True Match. This foundation has a very smooth and blendable texture. It does not settle immediately and I can take time blending this product on my skin to achieve a seamless finish. It works well with my dry skin provided I use a good moisturizer underneath. It does not feel tight but feels a tad bit heavy on my skin for everyday wear. It does not cling on the dry areas of my face especially on my flaky flare ups which is a plus point for me. Like its name Stay Fresh, this has a semi dewy finish on my skin. It is one of the most healthy looking liquid foundations that I have tried that works well with my dry skin. Does it last long? Yes!! it lasts very well on my skin and make my skin look fresh for up to 5-6 hours. As usual, I need to touch up my nose area or chin after a good three hours but the rest of my face looked fresh until the 6th hour. This has SPF 18 but does not deliver white cast on flash photography. It also contains Hyaluron or the Hyaluronic Acid which is known for its moisturizing properties and is a key ingredient in some anti aging products. This is probably the reason why it works so well on my super dry skin.

Overall, this is a great foundation for dry skin! In terms of consistency, texture and blendabilitty,  it is probably one of the best from the drugstore. I also love the coverage and found a shade that perfectly suits my skin tone.

Here is my before and after photo using this foundation.

Without foundation and with L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation

L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation 24H vs. L'oreal Pro Matte Foundation

L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation
According to  L'oreal, the Pro Matte Foundation has a demi matte finish, 24 Hr wear and has an air light texture. It is oil free and is known for its oil control properties. If you are in search for a comfortable, matte, and long lasting foundation, this is the one you are looking for. This foundation has all the properties that I am looking for in a matte foundation. I can remember my first long wearing foundation was from Revlon COlorstay and it felt so uncomfortable to wear especially on my dry skin. I was really hoping that this was the version that L'oreal Philippines brought in the market. Why? Because this works very very very well in our humid weather!!! Whenever I use this, I barely touch up my skin and it can hold up for almost the whole day without the help of any primer. That is how good great this foundation is.  (Well take note dry skin ako ahh). Compared to the Stay Fresh Foundation,The Pro Matte Version has a matte finish on me. This is one of the few foundation that I can use on its own without setting it with powder but I am afraid of makeup meltdown so I just dust a bit of setting powder to seal the deal. I need to work the product immediately on the skin because it sets too quickly. The only con is that it can cling to my dry patches but kiber na!! I will just a heavy moisturizer and that dilemma is no more. The Pro Matte has a lighter consistency too. I also noticed that it has a tad bit more coverage than the Stay Fresh Foundation. Sadly, the Pro Matte is not available locally. You can purchase it online. I got mine at bonmarche.com.

Here is a comparison the two foundations (both are in the shade Golden Beige):
Pro Matte vs. Stay Fresh
Pro Matte vs. Stay Fresh

The Stay Fresh Foundation oxidizes on my skin more than the Pro Matte Version.
The L'oreal Pro Matte Version in my opinion is one of the best long lasting foundations available in the drugstore. It will definitely work wonders on oily skin and is best for our PH weather. Haha) Anyways, I do love both foundations and Stay Fresh definitely worked on my dry skin.

Have you tried this foundation? What is you current favorite foundation?
Godbless

  2. I absolutely love the stay fresh foundation. My mom has it and I often take some when she's not looking HAHA (it's her fave !). I have a dry skin, and I always use BB creams but it would slip off by late afternoon when applied in the morning. I happened to see this and it is absolutely awesome.
It somewhat makes my face cakey but it does not look oily and long wear so it's definitely a good foundation :D
I'll buy my mom 10x of this when I finished college so I wouldn't feel guilty xD

  3. I'm not using any foundation at the moment. Poorita problems. haha. And wala rin po akong maisip na brand na magandang itry kasi baka magbreak out. Oil machine pa naman ako. haha. Anyways, BB cream muna ko. I'm using Shiseido Integrate Gracy BB cream. It was a gift from a friend from Japan. I set it with L'oreal BB matte veil. I like them both pero gusto ko po sana mas long-wearing na base kasi tamad ako magretouch. hahaha. Any tips and suggestions po what should I try? Thank you!

  5. Last Saturday nasa SM North ako. Then I saw this Infallable Foundation I ask the saleslady kung ito na ba yung Infallable sa US and she told na Yes ito po yun. I ask how much she said 700 and unang tingin ko palang paramg hindi ito yun. Some areas oily pero very light nalang. Binili na talaga ako nung Pro Matte

  6. Thanks for your very detailed and super informative blogpost and review about these products. And I agree with you yeah, sana yung Pro Matte na lang ang andito sa Philippines. Pero still, susubukan ko pa rin....for the love of make-up :)

  7. Waaaah, I was really hoping too na yung Pro Matte ang irerelease nila. Oh well, I guess I'll still go for Revlon Colorstay as my next purchase for a good-coverage, last-all-day foundation.

  8. I was so excited when I saw the title!!! I've been very curious about how different this PH release is from the very popular US version one. This is a very helpful review because I was contemplating about whether I should get the drugstore-available one or stick with buying online, and now I'm decided. I also initially wanted to swatch some to find my shade match, but I don't think I can do that since the shade ranges seem quite different. =)) I also have very acidic skin so the Stay Fresh one won't work well with my skintone. I don't want to end up looking to orange on special occasions. :( I must admit that I prefer the pump-type packaging over the squeeze tube, but weighing all else aside, I would probably still get the best out of the Pro Matte! :) Thank you for this! :)

  9. I'm not looking to change my foundation but when I read reviews like this, it makes me wonder if the product might just be a tad bit better than the current one I am using. I'm using Maybelline Better Skin Foundation and it does not oxidize on my skin.

Ganda nya. Demi matte mukang fresh and gloeing ang skin.

  12. I Haven't ty any foundation yet... but as for now I'm planning to buy a foundation(nagiipon pa eh) Loreal products are really awesome and yet medyo expensive sya sa part ko pero based naman po sa review nyo worth it naman sya. I have a normal skin type, and still looking for a foundation that will be perfect for me, yung budget friendly and maganda talaga yung application. For now, nagsesearch pa din ako on how to use foundations, concealers... medyo confuse pa din kasi ako kung ano dapat yung mauna para hindi maging cakey yung look, then yung sa shades na babagay sa skin tone medyo hindi ko pa yun nagegets. I think need ko talaga ng magtuturo sakin, but as for now self study muna :D Your blogs are really informative for newbies like me :) Thanks !

  13. I do not use any kinds of foundation for my face. I am afraid that I won't be able to blend it well on my face. But I also want to try using one to hide the imperfections on my face. HAHAHAA!! I will try using one these products soon. Thanks for your great help. :D

    1. You will know na acidic ka sa face if once you put a lighter shade ng foundation he naturally after a few minutes mag dadarken siya. I suggest magtry ka muna on your bare face ng liquid foundation na a shade lighter sa skin mo dun mo lang talaga malalaman eh. I only discovered I am acidic in 2014. From then on mas madali na pumili ng foundation. Dati kasi palagi rin akong palpak. :)

  16. Up to this point, hindi ko pa rin alam kung paan pumili ng foundation na babagay sa skin tone ko. Any tips, Miss Donna? Madalas kasi it's too light for me and I'm medium to dark skin complexion.

    1. Try applying or testing it sa chin area or sa neck pag nawala or nagblend ang foundation yun na ang perfect for you. :)

    2. Oh, will try it next time. Thanks! <3 Also, does it really depends on your undertone?

  17. Stay fresh is definitely more on the beigey and neutral side. I can't rock this since it'll only look ashy on me :/

I want to try them but I don't want to buy haha! O kaya yung pwedeng ibalik like sa ibang bansa.

  19. I've heard really a LOT of good reviews about Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. Even my close beauty friends love it too. Huhu, I tried buying on one of my favorite makeup store, Chedelyn Cosmetics. I even went to one of their actual counter at Pop Culture Trinoma, but my shade, as usual, were sold out. Hearing you love it all the same, I think I am starting to understand why. Sana makatyamba ako one of these days. Hehe. As for the Stay Fresh, I did not know about it until I read this article. Hehehehe! I swear to find it once I drop by at SM Manila. Thanks for the information, Ms. D! :)

  21. Ms Donna, can you give the different swatches of all the shades available for Infallible Pro Matte Foundation? I am planning to buy one in the website, bonmarche (as you've mentioned since it costs now for P400.00 na lang), but I just do not know what shade is perfect for me. I also don't have idea for its shades. Talagang feel ko kasi yung review mo kaya I'll buy. Hope you can help me on this. Thank you.

  22. I am planning to buy one of the Pro Matte kaso di ko alam ang perfect shade for me. Gusto ko kasi bumili sa website you've mentioned on this post. Can you share a blog regarding swatches of different shades of the said foundation?

  23. Oh, I would opt for the Pro Matte with the packaging ng Stay fresh hehe. I am a fan of L'oreal Products, mahal na mahal ko yung Matte Magique nila hehe. Although my current fave foundation is yung Maybelline Satin Skin, parang totoong balat lang..pero flawless hehe. Yun nga lang, I have issues regarding the staying power, kasi oily akooo.

  25. Omg!! I'm pretty i guess "new" here. You're one of the people that Ive been reading reviews so that i can have a guide when purchasing but i never really "know" you like deeply. But I'm so happy that i found someone who has psoriasis too! I have psoriasis and i love to wear make up. There are days that there would be dry patches in my face because of the flare ups so it's a bit hard for me to put make up then without looking i guess "cakey". I don't know if i would consider myself as to having dry skin cause i oil up sometimes really bad with certain foundations. I guess I'm that combo type of girl huh? But anyway ill be reading your posts from now on since it's gonna be helpful for me since i have psoriasis too! I'm so happy! Yay!

P.s what do u do if u flare up besides from heavy moisturizing an u need to wear make u? just wondering cause usually what i do besides heavy moisturizing is that i exfoloaite with a certain exfoliator then put medicine on my face (petroleum jelly mixed with mometasone) then my face would be very soft and the flakiness would be gone.

  26. Ay grabe talaga mag-oxidize ung Stay Fresh. I bought the shade two shades lighter than my skin and in the end, mejo mas dark and orangey pa din siya after mag-set. Pro-Matte is better din for sonce I have extremely oily skin. The Stay Fresh one tend to feel greasy and heavy once my skin starts to oil up.

Anyway, thanks for this comparison review! You're one of first to share the comparisons in detail. I actually thought that these two were the same, at first. Then nung sobrang nadisappoint ako sa Stay Fresh, I did some research and found out na magkaiba pala.

  27. A while ago on youtube I watched sa isang vlog na on July 27 daw 50% off ang products ng Loreal Ph as Solenn said. I was excited to try Infallible foundation , pero ngaun hmm pag-iisipan ko muna. But if the deal is real go na rin ako. I'm hoping lang sana na the foundation will cater shades for morena's like me with yellow undertone.

  28. A great review it is Ms. Donna, we've known the difference now and will totally agree on that L'oreal Infallable Pro Matte Foundation is the best! I also got a news about this foundation lately and it catches my attention because it controls oily skin as I'm one of them. Definitely will try to use this as soon as possible :) Thank You for this amazing, helpful review! :)

  30. I have acidic skin too Miss Donna! Both worked good on me naman po.

As always im on the go kaya 4in1 na kaagad. Base sa mga comments po ng Loreal sa page nila, un 24hr churva is especially made for asian skin compared to pro series nila (i can stand corrected tho) but that's what i can remember.. hehehe.. cguro po kapag nagsale uli loreal at ubos na etong 4in1 ko ill try this.

  32. I bought the L'Oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation just last weekend to try to compare it my trusty Revlon Colorstay. It was okay naman. It lasts long and the pump is a plus. I just noticed that after a few hours, it starts to look cakey around my nose area. It was easy to blend and build up, but doesn't look as natural on me as my Revlon. Anyhow, I would still recommend it.

  33. Hi mam... Im using infallible stay fresh in golden beige too.. I liked it kasi para ito lng yung ng match sa skin ko compare to my nc30... Kaya lng ng aapear yung mga lines sa forehead ko...so i tried to put a primer first since im curious na sabi sa nakita kong blog na u missed half of ur life pag d ka ng apply ng primer first on ur face... I tried it yung rimmel stay matte primer but i dont think it goes well on my face with a foundation next to it parang ng crease yung foundation ko. Please advice for more tips... Thanks po.

    1. Hi! First make sure you cleanse tone and moisturizer para mas okay ang kapit at apply ng foundation.then apply primer and foundation. I suggest apply just the right amount of primer and foundation pag too much kasi nag ccake or crease na talaga. Then let it dry or settle sa face mo a few minutes then tsaka mo siya iset with powder :)

  34. Ang akala ko same sila! Although ok dn ung stay fresh. Mjo nagsstay din naman for a good 3 to 4 hours on my skin type (super duper oily ako) but seeing reviews in youtube akala ko ito na yung pro matte nila hay.
