Review: Althea Petal Velvet Powder

Althea Petal Velvet Powder
My favorite online shop, Althea Korea, has recently launched their first ever brand product - the Petal Velvet Powder. I was quite surprised that they chose a loose setting powder as their first product. I was actually they would release their own cushion compact or a tint. They sent me a product for review and having dry and irritated skin, I did not expect from this product. Usually, loose setting powders would highlight my psoriasis flare ups and flaky patches on my face.

This product is housed in a pink screw cap container with a powder puff. This weighs 3grams and has a very affordable price tag of 210 pesos. This powder has three main ingredients: Althea seed extract for hydration, Polyphenols for sun protection, and Saponarin for anti-ageing. The first thing I noticed about this product is the nice sweet scent. The powder is in loose form and has a white color but goes on translucent when applied. Right off the bat, I must say that this is the best loose setting powder I have ever tried. Yes, you have read it right -The Best. I really love how this powder stayed true to all of its claims.
Althea Petal Velvet Powder Review
This powder has micro fine particles. This has an amazing velvety smooth texture. I use this to set my foundation and concealer. It does an awesome job of making my under eye look seamless. You can refer to my last photo on this blog for proof. It can also make my skin look poreless. It has that blurring / or airbrush effect which looks good in person and even greater when captured on photos. Whenever I apply this on my face, I feel that it melts on my skin and sets my base makeup beautifully like magic.  What I love about this is that this works so well on my dry skin. It has that moisturizing factor and at the same time, it can hold my base makeup through out the day. It has a little bit of brightening effect but does not leave any white cast. This has a very lightweight formula.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS POWDER:

  1. Affordable
  2. Very Lightweight
  3. It is made with natural ingredients.
  4. It is hydrating.
  5. Controls oil and keeps my makeup in place.
  6. It sets my skin seamlessly.
  7. It blurs out my pores.
  8. It has a velvety smooth texture when applied.
  9. It did not irritate my skin.
  10. It does not highlight my dry patches and my fine lines.
Overall, I really love this powder. This works best with high coverage foundations. My only concern is that I can use this powder so fast like I can consume it within a month or so by using it everyday.

Look at my nose, my cheeks, and undereye? Don't they look poreless and seamless? I used the Alteha Velvet Powder to set my foundation and concealer in this photo.

Godbless!

  1. You think this is better than Laura Mercier translucent powder? Or the Nichido loose powder?
