NYX Round Lipgloss and Megashine
This are the prizes from Sol's giveaway contest. I just want to share the swatches to all of you. Here they are:
NYX Round Lipgloss
in STRAWBERRY
Sorry for the blurry picture. I tried to capture the color of this gloss. This gloss is not too pigmented but gives you just the right hint of color. Strawberry is a sheer pink with subtle shimmers. It is almost identical with Peach
NYX Round Lipgloss
in PEACH
Coralish pink on color with subtle shimmers. I like this better than Strawberry. It reallysuits my medium yellow skin tone.
NYX Goddess of the Night
Megashine Gloss in Lollipop
Goddess of the Night (Megashine Glosses) are way better than their rough lipgloss. It is more pigmented and the consistency is thicker too. I am not disturbed by the cough syrup scent. I find it yummy.. weird me. Lollipop is a nice frosted light peach. Contrary to most frosted gloss that I have tried, this compliments my warm skin tone. IT has subtle gold shimmers too. This looks best when paired with smokey eyes.
NYX Round Lipstick Castle
This is a very weird color for me. It is a lavender shade with a hint of frosted silver in it. I really do not know how to pull this off. Perhaps a pink gloss on top of it will solve my problem. :D

Ellana Sheer Velvet High Definition
Mineral Finishing Powder
in White Chocolate
Sheer Velvet is a finishing powder and powder primer in one. Use before you apply your makeup to provide a smooth and silken base to your makeup or for touchups to absorb excess oil. A high definition powder, it comes off pure white but melts on any skin tone.
(from Ellana's website)
I have this for a year now and I think this powder deserves a review from me. I never thought that I have an HD finishing powder all this time. hehe Until I saw the raves on Makeup Forever's HD Microfinish Powder and I suddenly reckon that I have a similar powder. Like Makeup Forever's A major ingredient of this finishing powder is silica. Some are allergic to this mineral, thank goodness I am not.
Silica is primarily used in oil control products because of its excellent oil absorption properties. It also comes as a major ingredient of oil control primer and various forms of finishing powder. This function is particularly useful when you have oily skin. Because of its ability to scatter light (light diffusion properties), mineral makeup uses it as a filler and base to effectively and seamlessly lighten or blur fine lines and wrinkles. When used in powders and foundations, silica allows the makeup to luxuriously slip on the skin. Interestingly, the mineral was also found to have excellent oil-control properties. It is oil absorbent, which enables various mineral makeups’ to stay on longer; much like creating a freshly applied look even after hours of application.

This tiny tub lasts for a very long time. I have it since last year and I have not finished it. This prevents my foundation from melting away esp during hot and humid days. I am not really troubled with the white casts it gives in picture because it is not really obvious in my opinion. This keeps my face matte throughout the day. Although I have dry skin, I still need this one to keep my foundation in place and with the weather here in Manila,, I would definitely look like a fried egg by midday.
What I love about this product:
- Very affordable and economical to use. I bought this in 2.5 grams ad have not finished this yet. I think this coasts 200 back then. For those who wanted to try this, Ellana Minerals offer this in a sample 1 gr. tub which could lasts very long for sure... :D
- This smoothens my face and keeps oilies at bay. Shine be gone!! When I use this powder, I rarely do touch ups throughout the day. If you have dry skin, do not put too much of this product. I have tried doing this one and it does not feel good at all. Your face will feel too dry and tight too.
- The powder is very finely milled.
- It brightens my face too. I love its effects esp on pictures because it makes my skin look flawless although it can give a slight white cast but this does not bother me at all.
- No irritations and break outs using this one.
- This is a FILIPINO made product and I am proud of it.. :D
- The packaging might look crappy but it is really sturdy. Look at mine, it withstand all those dropping due to my carelessness..
What I hate about this product:
NONE i think.. I just hate that it is too finely milled that it sometimes stimulate my allergic rhinitis.. but this is not the product's fault at all.
Good news to my Readers who lives abroad, Ellana Minerals does international orders. Give this product a shot and let's see your opinion about it.

I have been lemming for this the so called HD makeup since people in youtube and other bloggers started raving about this. When Revlon came out with Photoready, I am really curious with this one because this is the most affordable HD makeup I could get. I wonder If this could really make any difference compared to non HD makeup.I particularly wanted the shade in golden beige because they say that this has a yellow undertone perfect for those who have NC35 - NC37 skintone. My first reaction on my first use of this product is that -- it was not impressive at all!! It highlighted my dry skin, made my rashes look more conspicuous and gives me that ugly white cast. Then, I gave it another try.. It was perfect.. The coverage was great and it made my skin glow.. Then, I realized that this works best when I do not have rashes and when the weather is not too hot or humid.. I like this better than colorstay. Colorstay foundation feels to tight on my skin and its like wearing a mask. But Photoready feels light and it blends easily too. I have to admit that if there is a product that I have a Love/Hate relationship with.. This has to be it.
The pump bottle is just great!! It gives you that control in the amount of product you want to use.. I hope MAC Studiofix has the same pump bottle..
Shade: Golden Beige.. This has a pink or beige undertone on it.. Not yellow at all.. But this is the closest match to my skintone. I have tried other shades in the mall and they look so off on my skin.
When evenly spread on my skin.. Look at that white cast..
For shade reference and comparison.
What I Love about this Product:
- It has SPF 20!! yey.. perfect for our sunny weather here in the philippines.
- The packaging is great and the pump is really useful!!
- It has a very nice coverage compared to the other drugstore foundations that I have tried. This has a medium coverage and very buildable.
- It gives me that dewy, healthy glowing and luminous finish because of the micro shimmers in it. The shimmers are really unnoticeable.
- This spreads evenly on my face. It gives me that poreless look my bestfriend even commented how good my skin looks with this one.
- No breakouts or rashes.
What I Hate about this product:
- The shades introduced here in the Philippines are very limited. Most Pinays have a medium - tan complexion.
- I only use this when my skin does not have rashes because this highlights my ugly skin instead of concealing it. (Remember I have dry skin which is very prone to rashes.)
- When the weather is hot or humid,, this foundation melts and my face looks like a grease ball.
revlon photoready on me..

This look s requested by Tamara of www.cherrycolors.com. She asked me if I can do a yellow pink eotd. Honestly, I do not know how to put these two colors together without adding orange eyeshadow.. I think those three colors look good together.. pink, orange and yellow. For this look, I used my 180 palette. Here is a quick tutorial for this look:
First, apply primer on your lid. I used The All Natural Face Eyeshadow Primer which I bought from Etsy.com. Then, apply a matte yellow eyeshadow on your lid.
Then apply hot pink e/s on your outer v moving towards your crease.
Apply black e/s mixed with maroon e/s on your crease and outer V. Blend and apply more black e/s to achieve the depth you want. Sweep some shimmery light pink e/s on top of your crease and matte white e/s to highlight your brow bone.
Apply liquid eyeliner on your upper lashline. I used l'oreal lineur intense liner.
Apply shimmery yellow on the inner corners of your eye. Add a shimmery pink e/s on your lower lashline. Do not forget to line your eyes with black liner, put on some mascara on your upper and lower lashes. Use falsies to create a more dramatic look.
Here is a quick tip: apply black eyeliner your upper waterline to define your eyes more.
