Hello MLI Readers!! Just a quick post!! Last week, I had a bad case of chapped lips. My Maybelline Baby lips does not work so I bought Vaseline. Sadly, Vaseline did not also work. So, I made sure I pass by the department store to get Carmex and guess what I found? EOS!! EOS is now available in Manila!! I stood for 5 minutes debating with myself if I should get Carmex or EOS. EOS is available at Robinsons Ermita Department Store and it only costs 190 pesos each. Not bad eh? Cheaper than the ones sold online. |
Another great news are these super affordable Konjac Sponge. These are available at Landmark.. Saw these specifically at Landmark Trinoma Branch!! I got one and it works just the same as the Tony Moly Cleansing Sponge I recently reviewed. Click here for more information. Also, I honestly think that this one is sturdier than the Tony Moly Sponge. I have been using this Konjac Sponge for almost a month now and it does a great job of eradicating dry patches on my cheeks.
If you happen to find affordable products locally that are worthy to try, do not forget to comment below!! I would love to hear your budget finds.. :)

Hello blogosphere!! I can not believe I am finally back! Firstly, I want to thank everyone who extended their help and concern to my family. Thank you all so much. With your help and God's grace, my family and I are doing fine. I want to thank my beauty bloggers friends who extended their sincerest concern and made me smile with their gifts. I honestly felt like I have an extended Christmas. Thank you all so much.
I was thrilled that these Rimmel lipsticks came after the tragedy. As you all know, nothing is left from my makeup stash not even an eyeliner. I am in the process of slowly rebuilding it again. These lipsticks are one of the first lipsticks I have tried this 2013. These were given to me by my beautiful cousin who is currently residing in Canada. (Thank you Pinsan!!!)
I have never tried any Rimmel lipstick ever. During the first months of this blog, I have featured rimmel glosses. I have been always curious about Rimmel Lipsticks especially the shade called "Airy Fairy." I have heard tons of raves about this shade. Anyways, I know this lipstick line has been released last year. If I am not mistaken, Rimmel has already released a second wave of new shades in red of Kate Moss Lipsticks. Evidently, this line caused quite a stir and excitement in the beauty world (especially in the drugstore level). I never expected a lot from these lipsticks but I was surprised that I love it! The black packaging is classy. The red signature of Kate Moss printed on its cap made it look more posh. |

My cousin got me two shades. This is No: 09 |
|
No.08
The color pay off is simply amazing. Just one swipe and you get a good amount of pigmentation. I can even use No.08 without a lipliner! The color on the tube stays true to its color when swatched. |
|
The texture is creamy. It glides smoothly even if my lips are dry and cracked leaving an even finish (but like other lippies, it can highlight dry patches). No.08 have a tendency to smear if you apply more than layers. No.09 leaves a beautiful stain on the lips but is a bit more drying than 08. Both have a semi matte finish with slight sheen. Thus, I skip on using a glossy balm when I use this.Personally, I do not find this lipstick drying. The lasting power is good. It fades after 3-4 hrs (NOTE: 3-4 hrs without eating and drinking). |
No.08 is currently my favorite everyday lipstick. This is definitely my lips but way better shade. This a beautiful muted rosey mauve. Look how pigmented this shade is? You all know that I have super dark lip lines but this definitely evened out my lip color without any lip liner.
No.09 looks red on the tube but lo and behold it is actually a deep berry fuchsia. The color can be layered depending on the intensity you want. With the use of your index finger you can blot the lip color for a soft hint of pink on the lips.
I must say that this lipstick is one of the best formula I have ever tried. The downside, Rimmel is not available here in the Philippines. I want to get more shades. Also, I hate the number shading system. Rimmel could have thought of a more brilliant way of naming their shades rather than using plain numbers.
It just feels so so good to be back in my lucid intervals.
Godbless everyone!

This post is my sixth installment for the "Truth Seeker Campaign" which intends to clarify common misconceptions
about acne and skin care.
(photo from gnet.org)
The onslaught of acne problems happen when puberty hit us.
This is when all the hormonal changes happen. And the most visible and probably
the most annoying of them all is acne.
I was in my teen years when this first happened, and even
back then, I was doing my own diagnosis when it came to my skin. Like I
previously mentioned, I tend to be my own dermatologist. So, I went to the
nearest drugstore to sought out creams, gels, and soaps to improve the
condition of my acne. I heard from others that picking and popping pimples
would only worsen it. That’s why I avoided that. But I never knew why, and I
never really understood the whole reason for it. Until I started researching
and found it’s the bacteria our hands, fingers, and fingernails carry that can
worsen our skin’s condition.
Going back to my path to self-treatment, the soap helped dry
out the acne, but after continuous use, my skin became dry as well. The gels
and creams also helped diminish the evidence of acne but every time I apply
them, I get a stinging feeling. Trial
and error may have been my best friend then, but it also became my worst enemy.
It was hard to skip from one product to another and end up disappointed.
Looking back, I would have appreciated blog entries like
these to help teen girls combat acne. At least I won’t have to go through the
procedure myself before knowing it won’t do any good. Also, it would have been
great to ask my mom for advice rather than just relying on my own. Another
great help would have been consulting a professional dermatologist so that I
can find out what’s the best skin care regimen is for me. If only there were
reliable products like Papulex back then, it would have been easier not just
for me, but also for other people who need to deal with acne. If we are armed
with the right information, we can easily find the right solution, especially
when it comes to our skin.
