When Maybelline announced to us (bloggers) in one of their events that they will be launching the powder matte lipsticks. I waa super duper excited. I love the creamy matte line particularly the shade touch of spice and clay crush. This Powder Matte Line is known for their lightweight formula. Maybelline gave me the complete shades of this line and I was lucky enough to try every shade.
The Powder Matte Line has a nice vibrant shade selection. Compared to the Creamy Matte Line, this has more reds and pinks. They have very few nude shades and sadly, some light shades does not deliver my desired saturation and color.
Someone asked me which is better the powder mattes or the creamy mattes. I immediately answered the powder mattes but while writing this review, I think creamy mattes have a better shade selection. The shades in the creamy mattes line are all wearable and suits my yellow skintone well. The powder mattes, on the other hand, havethe best feel and comfortable formula out of all the lipstick (or maybelline lipsticks) that I have tried. These lipsticks have a light velvety texture.
What I love about the Powder Mattes Line:
- Lightweight. It feels so comfortable and feels nothing on the lips.
- Did not dry out my lips
- The dark and deep colors like the plums and reds don't have intense pigmentation in one swipe. I find them wearable for everyday especially when applied only with one layer. (Red lips araw araw? Why not)
- Lasts 3-4 hours on my lips
- Stays put even after eating or drinking with slight noticeable fading
- Leaves a tint on the lips after hours and it does not look completely washed off
What I do not like about the Powder Mattes Line:
- Some shades like the Barely There or Nude Illusion looked weird on my lips. These shades did not deliver any color on me and looked to waxy. The lighter shades do not look good on my dark lip lines.
- This line does not have a lot of natural/neutral shades for everyday wear.
- The shades or color pay off are not consistent. Some lipsticks looked different on the tube and when worn. For example, Mauve It Up looks like purplish pink on the tube but when applied, it looks medium Barbie pink on my lips and on the swatches.
- Some shades appear patchy on my lips and feels waxy too.
All shades take a minimum of two to three layers to achieve the desired shade opacity.
I saw some local youtubers doing a Nichido full face makeup and they featured new products from Nichido. I was eyeing the contour and highlight stick and the stick foundation but I chanced upon this contour palette. I did not have plans on buying any new contour palette as I plan to finish the contour products I have on hand. I would always tell myself that I only have one face but I end up picking this up because of the contour powder!! The contour shade look so gorgeous!! This costs 350 pesos. Honestly, medyo namahalan ako sa price niya for a local drugstore ah!
This contouring palettes has three shade- highlight, bronzer, and a contour powder. The powders have a soft texture with minimal fall out. This contour palette is very pigmented and has tolerable fall outs. It blends beautifully on my skin.
The contour or the darkest shade is a dark neutral brown shade. It has that good amount of cool and warm tones in it making it look like a natural shadow when blended thouroughly. The only con I find in this contour powder is that it is super pigmented. I just tap my brush to do away with excess product.
The shape shade is a light warm peachy brown. It can be used as a blush but I use it to blend the contour. It tones down the color of the contour making it look more natural plus it gives my skin a nice warmth of color.
The highlight shade has a satin finish with slight sheen. It gives off a very natural glow. Iit also brightens up my skin because of its light ivory champagne color. I love applying it on the bride of my nose and tops of my cheeks for that wearable everyday radiance.
I placed the highlight on the tip of my nose. Isn't pretty?
What I love about this contour palette
- It is very pigmented.
- Blendable
- The colors suit my medium skintone.
- The palette did not caused my any breakouts.
- Very handy and travel friendly
- Locally available
- Affordable
- The contour when blended with tge shade color lasts 3-4 hours on my skin without retouch
What I disliked about this palette
- The powders are powdery and has tolerable fall outs
- The highlight does not last long on me
I really love this contour palette. I consider this a gem among the local drusgtore products currently available. My friend even got herself a palette immediately after I showed mine to her and after hearing me rave about it. This is currently my go to contour and highlight palette and it instantly became a staple in my kit.
Have you tried this palette? Godbless

Let me start my blog comeback (tagal ko nawala mga bes!! 😂) with a cushion review. Last 2016 was a year of my cushion makeup obsession. I thought my love affair with cushion makeup ended when I gave birth but everytime I see new cushion makeup online and locally I still get excited to try them. This product was given to me as part of the 2017 Maybelline Squad.. Yay I am a part of this group. The Maybelline SQuad gets first dibs on Maybelline's fresh releases and I am pretty sure matutuwa kayo sa mga pasabog nila na launch for 2017 especially for face category!!! Okay back to the review. This cushion is pretty much like my korean cushion. This has an air puff sponge and a bulky compact like April Skin's Snow Cushion.
This cushion retails for 749 pesos with 14g net weight. It comes in two shades - Light and Natural. I got the shade Natural.
The shade Natural is a medium beige with peach tones. When I first swatched it, it threw me off because it looked orangey on my yellow skintone. When blended, this shade suits my skin perfectly.
This cushion is surprisingly really really good! I must say that it is one of the best cushions I have tried. First, the shade Natural look so perfect on my Nc30 skintone. Perfect match talaga! It does not give me any white cast despite having spf 25. It does not give off a grayish cast as well. Most cushions I have tried have a ghostly like cast esp. on flash photography. This has no extreme white cast but I did notice that it made my skin look a bit brighter than usual. Maybellibe says it has a matte finish. I say this has a demi matte finish. To prevent the product from melting or creasing, sealing it off with powder is a must. The coverage is medium but buildable. This covers up my dark circles and evens out my skintone very nicely. This cushion looks good on photos and has that blurring power. Thsu, my face looks extra smooth and my pores are almost non existent. It also does a great job of covering my psorasis flare up.
Despite having a demi matte finish, this does not cling on my rashes and dry areas as evidenced by the photos below. Oil control properties is also great! It stays on my face for more than three hourse sans retouch. It does stay or held up for hours on my skin even on a sunny and humid weather. Indeed, it makes my face look fresh throughout the day. It does not crease on my fine lines as long as it is properly set. The color does oxidize on my skin and it does not have a scent. It did not irritate my skin. This cushion also feels light and does not feel greasy or oily.
Look how well it covered my redness and evened out my skin tone. It also did a great job in concealingvmy under eye.
Overall, I am in love with this cushion. It has an awesome coverage, the shade matches my skin perfectly, and it has a good staying power (take note that I have dry skin). Also, this is available locally. Sadly, Maybelline do not sell refills for this cushion but you can always wait for their flash sales.

Hello!!!!Today, I will be reviewing a product from Cathy Doll. This is their Tattoo Tint Pack. This was sent to me a month ago and I have used this a few times and I must say that I love this product! I kept on using this every now and then because it cuts my brow makeup process in half! Also, this is perfect to wear during special occasions where fool proof and long wearing makeup is very much needed.
This comes in three shades:Medium Brown, Deep Brown and Dark Brown. I tested the lightest shade - Medium Brown. This shade has a very warm tone and looks great on my dark black roots and would definitely look superb and natural with light brown hair.
It came with a pointed tip brush. The tint is very gooey which I find a bit hard to evenly spread. I need to load up the brush with product to make application easier. I also find that it takes a few minutes to dry. Compared to Etude House Tattoo Pack, this Cathy Doll Brow Pack is painless to peel and very easy too!! It felt like removing a dried gel and it did not remove or accidentally pluck any of my brow hair. I also love that it is very long lasting. The color lasted for two days on my brows even though I only let it stay for 15-30 minutes.
What to love about this Brow Pack
1. Painless peeling process
2. It did not remove/pluck any of my brow hair.
3. Long lasting
4. It did not irritate my skin.
Overall, I really love this brow tint pack and I definitely think that it deserves more raves online! It is an awesome product. I love using it on special occasions to achieve on fleek brows throughout the day.
Have you tried a brow tattoo tint? What are your thoughts on this products?
