By now, you have figured out that I am a lipstick addict. There are more lippie posts in this blog than any other review posts combined, however, I am not fond of lipgloss. I do not normally wear glossy lippies because glosses tend to highlight my pouty lips and I feel uncomfortable wearing them. I attended the Nutmeg Event last month and I saw Monika of momgonevain.blogspot.com. She is my current favorite blogger because she loves budget finds like I do. I was ogling at her throughout the event. I was even surprised to learn that she is a mommy blogger and a reader of my blog. waahh Her makeup looks so perfect but I was particularly drawn to her lips. I can't help but ask what lipgloss was she wearing when she retouched. She candidly told me that it was just a chipipay one from Fashion 21. I tried my best to remember the packaging of the gloss because I got very shy to ask more details about it. The other day I saw this Marble Lip Gloss from Fashion 21 and if I am not mistaken this is the exact gloss Monika used. My heart even skipped a beat when I saw the tag price - 65 pesos!!! This gloss is on the small clearance portion of the Fashion 21 Stand. I got two shades and I am in love with it! |
|
The packaging reminds me of Korean cosmetics like the ones from the face shop and VOV. For 65 pesos, this product is filled to the brim and can last me for months! It comes with a doe foot applicator. The lipgloss has a subtle vanilla scent to it which is very nice. It has a very smooth texture, not grainy at all. It feels light on the lips and sticky enough to last for hours. I did not experience dryness or chapped lips in using this product. I can put layers and layers of this gloss sans that heavy feel. It applies evenly and does not settle on the fine lines. . What impressed me the most are the pigmentation and coverage. These glosses has a semi-opaque finish to them. I can even use them alone or with a lipliner only. The shimmers of No. 2 or the pearl finish of No. 3 do not appear flashy at all rather they give the glosses that high end feel to them. |
|
Here are the swatches at the back of my hand. If in any case you'll find No. 01 please tell me where you saw it. I like to complete all the shades of this gloss. |
The Good:
- Pigmentation is awesome.
- Hydrating
- It lasts for hours even after eating or drinking.
- Glides smoothly and does not settle on the fine lines.
- Affordable
- Not grainy
- Lightweight consistency
The Bad:
- This gloss is now on clearance. ;(
Take a look at the lip swatches:
|
No. 2 is a richly pigmented shade that is very vibrant and gives off that fun vibe. It is a pretty berry pink with iridescent shimmers. |
|
Finally found the perfect nude gloss! No. 3 is my ultimate favorite. I have never fallen madly in love with a gloss before. It was the same gloss that Monika wore, if I am not mistaken. The color is beautiful peachy nude with a pearl finish. This is perfect for everyday wear or a perfect match to smokey eyes.
Overall, I am impressed with this gloss especially the No. 3 shade. Hopefully, Fashion 21 will not totally phase this out but will just repackage it.
Have you tried this gloss?
Godbless!

I have been seeing a lot of videos and reviews of Italia Deluxe products lately. Particularly, I am very curious with the longwear lipstick. For only 199 pesos a tube coupled with great color pay off, I was sold. I truly imagined that it will somehow achieve the phenomenal quality of Makeup Forever Aqua Rouge Lippies. Sadly, it did not!! |
|
These lippies are available in leading SM DEaprtment Store and a few Watsons branches. Italia Deluxe is carried by LA Girl Cosmetics and is a fairly new brand that offers affordable products. |
|
Italia Deluxe 24hrs Longwear Lipcolor is a double ended lip product that contains a liquid lipstick and a gloss. This reminds me of my old favorite ELF lipstain and MUFE's Aqua Rouge lipstick. I have not yet tried the latter but seeing Judy of It's Judy time positive review on this product made me want to buy it so bad. Oh well, I ended up buying a product with the same concept and with high hopes that it will be as good as MUFE. The liquid lipstick applicator is a sponge tip wand while the gloss has a brush applicator. |
|
The texture of these lipsticks are akin to ELF lipstain but thicker. It blends well but not as creamy as NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. It does not dry easily and it will primarily depend on the number of coats applied. I do not like using the applicator because it tends to apply more product on the lips. I use my pinkie finger to spread the product thinly and evenly. Just a small dab and it can easily cover my entire lips. It feels lightweight but once dried, it can really highlight the lines and dryness of my lips. I also felt tightness once the product settles. I do not find the lipgloss useful in prolonging the staying power of the lipstick. This kind of lipgloss is the one that I hate the most. it just sits on my lips making me like I devoured a lechon. This is not moisturizing at all. It felt light but smears quite easily and it even rubs off the color off my lips. You can refer to my 6th lip swatch below for proof. The quality of this product is not consistent. Fuchsia has the best texture, pigmentation and staying power. There is no cakiness even if you apply a gloss of lipbalm on top of it. Rose is really hard to apply. The color tends to bleed and application can get very messy. Peach is the most wearable color among the three but it definitely has the worst consistency and staying power. Compared to Fuchsia and Rose, Peach has tiny shimmers that appears unnoticeable when applied on the lips. Peach can get really tacky especially if a balm or gloss is applied before or after. Product build up and cakiness is inevitable after 1-2 hrs wear on all shades.
The Good:
- Pigmentation is great!!! The colors will wow immaediately. It can cover my dark lip liplines without the need of a lipliner.
- Affordable
- No signs of fading even after the 3rd hour but without eating or drinking.
- It feels lightweight.
- Glides smoothly on the lips.
- The lipstick when worn alone does not transfer.
The Bad:
- Not long lasting as it claimed to be. You need to wipe off the product before reapplying the color because it can easily cake or build up.
- It dries out my lips badly.
- The lipgloss does not moisturize or prolong the lip color at all.
- The quality of the product is not consistent and it highly depends on the color you will get.
- The product tends to cake and build up.
|
|
Fuchsia is a beautiful barbie pink with blue undertones. This pink is a very flattering color which I think will suit different skin tones. |
|
With gloss |
|
Peach is a warm everyday color. It is a blend of coral and rose with a slight brownish hue. This has shimmers on the tub but not noticeable when applied. The color is perfect for everyday wear. I thought that this will replace my NYX Stockhom but it did not perform very well. |
|
With gloss. |
|
Rose is a cherry red color with strong bluish pink base. This turned my teeth a bit yellow but instantly brightens up my face. |
|
with gloss |
Once dried, the lip color does not smudge at all. This is also water resistant. You can refer to the photo below where I tried rubbing it on running water but it did not budge at all.
|
Tip: I highly suggest moisturizing the lips very well before using this product. Pat a thin amount of balm (do not overapply lipbalm to prevent caking) before applying the lip color. Use your pinky finger to spread the color thinly and evenly on the lips. Removing this lipstick does not require much effort as I imagined it would. Just dab a lipgloss or a lipbalm all over the lips, wait for a minute, then wipe it off with a wet or dry tissue. :)
I recommend the fuchsia color to my readers but beware of the cons I mentioned above. I will not repurchase these and I think they are somehow comparable to Excel Paris Matte Lip cream which are being sold for 50 pesos only. Overall, I am not impressed with this product. I would rather purchase NYX Matte soft lip cream or the ELF Lipstain over this.

Last last week, I was blog hopping and saw the April BDJ Box which contains this mist. I got very curious about. I have been in search for a good setting spray for years. I have been meaning to try the infamous MAC Fix Spray Plus but when I saw this Mist with an affordable tag price. I knew I must try it plus Celeteque is well known locally for their skin care products that are perfect for those with sensitive skin.
I have used Evian and a refreshing mist from France which came in a huge can (I forgot the name simply because it was in French). I did not like both of them. They did no significant change in my makeup at all or even in terms of hydration. I did expect much from this product because of the not so good experience with previous facial mists. I honestly bought this out of sheer curiosity. I immediately tested this product a few minutes after I bought it. I spritz some on my face and I was overtly disappointed with the spray. It hit my face so hard and it almost poke my left eye. The spray was very concentrated and it did not dispensed the product really well. What I did is transfer the product to a smaller atomizer. I was lucky enough to get a spray bottle that dispenses the product very well. I got this bottle for only 14 pesos in Landmark. |
|
According to directions, I must spray this before applying moisturizer but I love using it after my foundation routine. One of my worst makeup habits is applying layer and layer of foundation on my face. I just love packing foundation on my face and setting it with a powder foundation with a good coverage. I know I do not need any concealing but trust me I am trying to get rid of this habit. Thus, I always end up with a cakey or too powdery face. Even in those days where I simply use minimal powder and foundation, my face would still appear dry and the powder still looks conspicuous. This mist is the answer to my dilemma. It makes my foundation look like second skin. It gives my face natural dewiness minus the cakey and powdery finish of foundation.
Take a good look on my skin here. Forgive my nganga pose. hehe I use HOlika Holika Essential BB cream plus Fanny Serrano two way cake. Both products have medium coverage and with this Celeteque Mist, my face look so supple and fresh. |
|
Here is a close up look. My face went from mattified to an almost airbrushed look. This has a subtle scent which I can't describe but nothing to worry about. |
What I love about this product:
- This is a proudly Filipino made product.
- Very affordable - Only 349 pesos
- It instantly refreshes my face on a hot humid day. I use this after my foundation routine and I let it dry. Once dried, I buffed my face with a flat top brush and viola - an au naturel foundation.
- It did not break me out.
- It feels very light on the face. I experienced no greasiness after use.
- Gives my dry face that much needed moisture.
- Makes foundation adhere well like second skin.
- It somehow made my makeup last longer especially my foundation and blush. This may vary depending on the skin type (Take note that I have dry skin).
- It lessened makeup creasing especially on my under eye.
What I disliked about it:
- It sprays the product in a very concentrated manner. There is a need to transfer it in an atomizer that can spray the products evenly.
- The bottle is quite big and not very handy.
This product is truly a gem!! I am so happy I bought and I will definitely repurchase over and over again. I highly recommend this t those with dry skin. If you have a problem with cakey or powdery foundation, this one is the answer to you prayer.
This is my best buy for the month of April!!!
Have a blessed day everyone!!

Hi everyone!!! Forgive the lack of posts this week. This is due to the lack of broadband connection at home. Sky Cable sucks. BIGTIME! After four months of utterly disappointing service, I finally asked for a termination of their services. Hopefully, they will act on my request soon. I applied for Globe connection and I am hoping it will deliver better and reliable services. I know you have missed my local product posts because I have been so engrossed with US products due to influence of my favorite Youtube Gurus. I chanced upon Andee of Ohitsandee of Youtube post a picture of this blush with swatch. It looks so pretty on the picture and I immediately asked what shade was it. The next thing I knew I was in landmark searching for this blush. This blush only costs 150 pesos. I think this is not a new product but merely a reformulation and repackaging of their old blush stick (that looks more of a deodorant than a blush!! haha).
|
The packaging reminds me a lot of the NYX blus stick and the Revlon Blush Stick. |
|
Shade No. 3 is a beautiful matte peach color with hints of pink. When applied on the cheeks, it turns into a pretty blushing coral hue on me. The pigmentation is great/ The consistency is very creamy and blendable. It dries into a semi matte finish. The staying power is just ok. This can last 3-4 hrs on me. I experienced noticeable fading on the third or fourth hour. If you have oily skin, It is best to set this with powder or a powder blush of the same color. This blush also has a tendency to slide off your skin depending on the condition of the weather. It stayed put pretty well when I used it in an airconditioned room. I do not directly dab this blush on my cheeks. I first rub my fingers on the blush to melt the product. This will make the application easier. This blush has a strong scent which is comparable to Chinese creams which I really disliked. This also highlighted the dry areas and rashes on my cheeks. Thus, making the blush look very patchy or blotchy. |
This is what it looks like on my cheeks. I am truly in love with the color and reminds me of MAC Fleur Power. (Ohhh forgive my sweaty forehead and harsh brows, I was not able to brush my brows before taking this picture).
Have you tried this blush?

Did you know that Jes Roque of makeuplove.blogspot.com has the most beautiful brows that I have ever seen? Whenever I see her, I can't help but stare on her brows with awe and pure envy. Hahaha I have always been frustrated with my brows. I have tried a lot of tricks and products. Most are hits but some are misses. Anyways, I ran out of my K-Palette Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow (which I super love). Check my review here: http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2012/10/k-palette-lasting-2way-eyebrow-review.html I was supposed to get a K-Palette's but I ended up buying this eyebrow cake. This brand is Pinkie Swear, a sister company of James Cooper. Whenever I go Watsons or SM Department Stores, I can't help but notice this brand and James Cooper. They have loads of affordable and promising products lately. Btw, Thanks to Ohitsandee of youtube for featuring this product. :) I could not curtail my excitement to share with you my review of this product. Here it is:

Pinkies Collection Eyebrow Cake in EBC-03
Price: 169 Pesos
Weight: 3 grams
Available in SM Department Stores and Watsons Branches
This eyebrow cake comes in three shades to choose from. I got EBC-03 with two shades that is perfect for my eyebrow color. It contains a muted pale brown and a medium taupe color. The finish of this eyeshadow is sheer matte. The color is very buildable and with a wet angled brush, you get gorgeous pigmentation. The texture of this eyebrow cake is quite hard. Also, this is not too powdery and this blends perfectly on my brows. I could use the light brown of the taupe on its own and the shade just look so natural. I use this with my Marionnaud Spoolie with Angled Brush. This is best used with wet application. I just use normal water or water with Glycerine. Whenever I use this in the office or some place where there is no water in sight, I use Visine drops. For a very affordable product, Can I just say that this is extremely amazing especially if used with James Cooper Eyebrow Gel in Frosted Brown. This lasts almost whole day (whole day means office hours haha) on me to be exact for like 6-8 hours without retouching. The clean and sharp edges may blur at the end of the day but the color per se is still intact. My only rant is the packaging. The lid cover is not sturdy at all. I only have this for two weeks and I am afraid the lid cover will be detached anytime soon. Waahh! |
|
This eyebrow cake applies smoothly even with dry application.
For busy people, I do not recommend this eyebrow cake. This takes up 10 minutes of my makeup routine. I know a lot of you will say "ang tegel nemen 10 mins!" Exag! However, it is the truth. If you have untamed brows like I do and you want that perfect shape and arch, the process can get really tedious. Plus, I just don't fill my brows, I draw my brows (literally)! I apply the light brown on the inner brows for that natural look and on the the middle and on the tail, I use the taupe shade for a sharper and cleaner look.
My untamed brows. |
|
What do you think with my drawn arch? hihi
Ohh wait let me give you a sneak peek of another brow product that I am currently in love with: |
Thank Iya Boto for the review!! Were it not for your review on this product, I will not buy it. I bought two shades of this brow gel. All I can say is forget about Etude House Color My Brows that dries up easily. Try this brow gel and you will definitely love it too. Check out Iyah's review and comparison with MAC Girl Boy: http://iyaboto.blogspot.com/2012/11/review-james-cooper-eyebrow-gel.html
I am so proud that our local products are getting better and better!
Godbless everyone!
