My Lucid Intervals

It has been ages since I had a decent drugstore haul. Can you imagine how much I tried to resist buying makeup for 6 months. I was very strict on my savings because I have a target. I have been through crisis emotionally and financially because I have been very anxious in landing a high paying job for 2 years. The result? I can't stay long in a company. I had this notion that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Anuver! I thought that when I passed the bar exams, I would earn hundreds of thousands on my first job! haha Oh well, I learned my lesson now. It is not how much you earn but how much you save. With God's unending provision in my life, I already met my savings target but of course, it does not stop there. Due to this milestone (naka naman maka milestone! hehe), I decided to treat myself. I bought a lot of drugstore makeup last month and this is the first batch of goodies I received. I wanted to try new products that are affordable and have received a lot of positive ratings online. This site offers a wide array of products from low end to high end at affordable prices compared to other online stores, however, you must have a high emotional quotient if you get products on a pre-order basis. haha I had to wait for a month to get these goodies. This is not a sponsored post.
Here is the first batch of my haul.

1. NYX Invincible Fullest Coverage Foundation - I knew about this product because of Judy of ItsJudyTime in Youtube. Price: 470 pesos. One word first impression -- LOVE!!!!! hahaha Pasuspense effect. I will blog about this soon. I wanted to make a Base Talk series talking about the foundations and primers that I currently own which I have not yet done any review of. Hooongdami na kasi.. hehe

2. Rimmel Wake Me up Concealer: Price 240 pesos. I got the shade Medium which is slightly darker than my skintone but looks perfect for my undereye. My gulay I want more of this concealer!! the price is a plus point but this works sooooo good! No wonder UK Youtubers love this esp. Tanya Burr. I am thinking of buying the foundation but it costs 850 pesos online (kuripot alert).

3. Milani Brow Tint Pen: Price 220 pesos. I got this because I presently brow cray cray. haha I am very interested in trying out new brow products. I think I should entirely blame my good friend, Jes Roque of Makeuplove for my brow addiction. Ikaw na Teacher Jisa ang maganda ang kilay!hehe Miss u girl!

4. Rimmel Scandaleyes: Price: 230 pesos. I got the shades black and shimmery beige.

5. Milani Brow Shaping Clear Wax: Price: 215 pesos. Tati of Glamlife guru raved about this and I immediately place this in my to buy list. This one is definitely a gem. I will do a review soon.

Hello MLI Readers! For more than a week, I have been too preoccupied with a lot of things. On top of that is the series The walking Dead. Oh my, this is probably the best series I have ever seen. This series has definitely kept my imagination going wild and my pulse rate speeding up. Some may find it too morbid and gore but not for me. Aside from my Walking Dead Addiction, Insanity has also veered me away from blogging. More often than not, I will choose Insanity over beauty blogging because I am desperate on loosing weight. Right now, I took a break from insanity because of a knee injury. Enough of my blabbing, let's head to my quarterly favorites.

1. Krave Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator - The hot weather here in Manila melts my face makeup so quickly that I tend to skip foundation or bb cream most of the time. But Krave's powder has been my anti-shine hero this past month without leaving my skin tight nor highlighting the dry patches of my face. Thanks to Chrystal of Kikaymom.blogspot.com for giving me this powder. I have been reaching for this more than the overhyped Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder.

2. Etude House Sweet Recipe All Over Colour in Raspberry Mousse Cake - this is my go to lip and cheek product. This has been a staple in my makeup kit ever since I got this. The reddish tint compliments my medium yellow skin tone. The texture is very creamy and blends really well. The color is very pigmented. On the cheeks, it gives me a very natural flush and it is not sticky at all. I also use this on my lips sans the lip liner but I do not skip the balm.
The best thing about this product is the scent. It has a sweet fruity scent that is quite addicting.

3. Etude House Sweet Recipe Choux Base in Mint - I have tried green and violet makeup base before from other Korean brands and it did nothing but made me look like Morticia Adams. This is the reason why I was not gung ho over this product when Etude House launched this. The first time I tried this, I immediately noticed that it made my skin smoother, even and brighter. It did not become a surprise when I started using it day after day after day. In other words, I was hooked on using this product. I love using this with foundations that are slightly darker than my skin tone like the San San BB Cream and the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. The scent just like the All Over Cheek Cream is really nice. It has this subtle green tea scent to it which is very refreshing.

4. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation - This foundation has been my everyday staple. The lightweight feel is perfect during the summer. I love the fact that it has SPF20 but does leave a white cast in pictures. Chcek out my full review here. 5. Artdeco Camouflage Cream Concealer - With a very affordable price of 450 pesos, this tiny product is definitely a must try. Do not be fooled by its poor packaging. Housed in this flat container with an annoying sliding cover, this concealer is truly a heavy duty one. I am truly amazed with its coverage which can go from medium to full. The downside is that it tends to settle on the fine lines of my under eye. But the hell with my fine lines, this covers up my dark circles in a jiffy!!! 6. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Moisture - This has got to be my life saver. Walking under the harmful heat of the sun these days does not worry me at all because of this baby. This has SPF 50, does not feel sticky or heavy on the skin, does not leave a white cast on photos and did not irritate my skin. This is actually my second bottle and I would definitely repurchase as soon as I ran out of this product.

7. Black Beauty Hair Moisturizer - I am not a fan of hair coat or shine oil or whatever you call them. I find them sticky and heavy on the hair. I was prancing around SM Supermarket when I saw this. I gave this a try without expecting much on this product. I chose this over Dove or the Pantene Leave on because this only costs 75 pesos. I was amazed that it did not made my hair oily but gave it that much needed shine. Also, it tamed my frizzes throughout the day. I use this after bath and lather it on my damp hair going through the ends with my fingers. I do not apply this on my scalp.

8. Carmex Lip Balm - There came a time sometime in January when my lips was too chapped and dry. It was flaking like crazy and I have lip wounds. I bought Maybelline Baby Lips but it did not help. Then, I bought Vaseline Lip Balm in a squeeze tube but it did not help either. I decided to go for this Carmex lipbalm. I first heard of Carmex through Aubrey (Fafinettex in Youtube). This instantly healed chapped lips. It has this refreshing minty feel to it. I will be buying another one in a tube.

9. Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 08 - Click here for my full review. This is very beautiful everyday pink color that brightens my face in an instant. This lasts very well and does not dry up my lips. This is the very first lipstick that I have tried this year.

10. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm - This is truly my unsung hero. I have been using this everyday for the past months during my hearings and meetings. This is definitely a beautiful light peachy pink color that is perfect for office wear. This may appear sheer with one layer but the color is very buildable. I love the matte finish and the lightweight feel on my lips. I would definitely repurchase this shade and Antwerp. Thanks to Chrystal again for this.

These colors are perfect for everyday wear.

11. ELF Eyelid Primer - I was really skeptical in trying this primer because of the mix reviews online. I bought this on a whim when I had to attend an event and I do not have an eyeshadow primer in my stash. This is probably the cheapest primer locally available. I was really surprised that this is a very good primer. This is way better than the Etude House Proof Ten Primer for only a fraction of a price. It blends very well on my lids and does not dry too easily. I can apply it over my powdered lids without experiencing powder build up. It prevents my eyeshadow from creasing for hours. Please note that I have dry lids so I really don't know if it will work for people with oily lids.

12. Ever Bilena Advance Eyebrow Pencil in Brown - I use this for contouring my nose bridge and for outlining my brows. This pencil is very pigmented and goes on smoothly when applied.

13. 4u2 Dreamgirl Quattro Eyeshadow - Click here for my full review ans swatches of this palette. From everyday look to night time smokey eyes, this small palette right here is definitely a versatile product. I can use each color of the palette alone for a quick wash of color on my lid.I can use this with a brush or just my fingers for application. the colors are extremely creamy and blendable. The color pay off is really good. For 199 pesos, you can never go wrong with this palette.

I am a sucker for drugstore products. If I will be given a chance to go on shopping spree I will definitely fly to US and buy drugstore products. The name itself is indicative that this products is something to look forward. The swatches online look so pretty, I really hope an online shop would carry this.

Someone told me that Drew will be launching her makeup line Flower Cosmetics. WHen I first heard it, I really thought that this was a huge hoax!! Hahaha I really want to try the BB cream, blushes and lipsticks.

Hello blogosphere!! I can not believe I am finally back! Firstly, I want to thank everyone who extended their help and concern to my family. Thank you all so much. With your help and God's grace, my family and I are doing fine. I want to thank my beauty bloggers friends who extended their sincerest concern and made me smile with their gifts. I honestly felt like I have an extended Christmas. Thank you all so much.

I was thrilled that these Rimmel lipsticks came after the tragedy. As you all know, nothing is left from my makeup stash not even an eyeliner. I am in the process of slowly rebuilding it again. These lipsticks are one of the first lipsticks I have tried this 2013. These were given to me by my beautiful cousin who is currently residing in Canada. (Thank you Pinsan!!!)

I have never tried any Rimmel lipstick ever. During the first months of this blog, I have featured rimmel glosses. I have been always curious about Rimmel Lipsticks especially the shade called "Airy Fairy." I have heard tons of raves about this shade. Anyways, I know this lipstick line has been released last year. If I am not mistaken, Rimmel has already released a second wave of new shades in red of Kate Moss Lipsticks. Evidently, this line caused quite a stir and excitement in the beauty world (especially in the drugstore level). I never expected a lot from these lipsticks but I was surprised that I love it!
The black packaging is classy. The red signature of Kate Moss printed on its cap made it look more posh.

My cousin got me two shades. This is No: 09

No.08

The color pay off is simply amazing. Just one swipe and you get a good amount of pigmentation. I can even use No.08 without a lipliner! The color on the tube stays true to its color when swatched.

The texture is creamy. It glides smoothly even if my lips are dry and cracked leaving an even finish (but like other lippies, it can highlight dry patches). No.08 have a tendency to smear if you apply more than layers. No.09 leaves a beautiful stain on the lips but is a bit more drying than 08. Both have a semi matte finish with slight sheen.Thus, I skip on using a glossy balm when I use this.Personally, I do not find this lipstick drying. The lasting power is good. It fades after 3-4 hrs (NOTE: 3-4 hrs without eating and drinking).

No.08 is currently my favorite everyday lipstick. This is definitely my lips but way better shade. This a beautiful muted rosey mauve. Look how pigmented this shade is? You all know that I have super dark lip lines but this definitely evened out my lip color without any lip liner.

No.09 looks red on the tube but lo and behold it is actually a deep berry fuchsia. The color can be layered depending on the intensity you want. With the use of your index finger you can blot the lip color for a soft hint of pink on the lips.

I must say that this lipstick is one of the best formula I have ever tried. The downside, Rimmel is not available here in the Philippines. I want to get more shades. Also, I hate the number shading system. Rimmel could have thought of a more brilliant way of naming their shades rather than using plain numbers.

It just feels so so good to be back in my lucid intervals.

N.Y.C. Smooth Mineral Eyeliner/Eyeshadow Kit in Sultry

I was really intrigued with this one because of the mineral thing on its name. The colors are really nice imo. Perfect when applied wet but the color does not show up when dry. I am excited to use this one because i have only used black liquid eyeliner on my upper lash line. It will be fun playing with colors. :D

^swatch time.. I applied it using a mixing medium. The colors turned out really vibrant.

Deluxe Beauty Elastic Lipgloss in Dean
High sparkle glosses in kissable colors give you the prefect pout every time. This spring-like gel formula glides on your lips with extra shine.

This is my fave from this haul! The color is very very nice,, it looks neon pink on the tub but sheer pink when applied. The shimmer is not noticeable at all. The consistency of this gloss is that of a balm. Not sticky at all. :D However, I was shocked that it was abit small than i imagined it would be. It is only 5.4 grams.

Rimmel Vinyl Glosses
The vinyl stars are really sheer with pretty shimmers while the vinyl gloss is opaque in color.They smell sooo good. Reminds me of oranges. :D The consistency is not thick nor too watery.

Movie Star - Sheer red with gold flecks and red shimmers.
This would look perfect on top of red lipstick. :D

^^ this looked really brown on the tube but it is really nice on the lips. :D

Mmmm -this is a very nice brownish peach nude (i am not good with description. :C)
i also love this. I could wear this alone. :D

Star Kissed: shear peachy pink color with tons of micro gold flecks which is really pretty. :D
I could not capture the gold shimmers perfectly :C One review in makeupalley said that it reminds her of nars lipgloss in orgasm.

Liquid Asset - very sheer shimmery fucshia pink. I bought this because of the 5/5 rate at makeupalley. I really thought the pink shade will show up on my lips but to my dismay it was really sheer but this would be perfect on my everbilena matte pink lipstick.
