An Interviewer once asked me, "What is your worst trait?" Without a blink of an eye, I answered "I am perfectionist." For some people, this may sound a good characteristic, however, I think there is a hairline delineation between competing with one self and being defeated by your own self. Before, competing with myself has helped me achieved my goals. Down the road, however, I lost the drive and my passion dwindled, my self esteem went elsewhere and I found myself developing the worst traits anyone can have. I have the worst temper in my honest opinion. I can raise hell and beyond if you trigger my anger. I get irritated at the slightest annoyance you could ever think of. The worst habit I have developed is worrying. I have learned the art of worrying at full length of 12 hours a day to which my psoriasis flare up can be highly attributed.
This year, I became honest with myself and with God. I have finally admitted to myself that there is something wrong with me. I laid down my "perfect me" cloak and surrendered to God's glory. Everyday is still a struggle for me. Every morning, I try to clear my mind and pray for God's strength and guidance to keep me positive throughout the day, to keep me from being impulsive and uncontrollable when stressful situations sets in. I am writing this post to tell my readers that makeup can never change you. It can not make you beautiful unless you feel beautiful within. I can attest that I was 20 pounds heavier now but I extremely feel lighter within. I can smile even at a stressful situation. I can now somehow maneuver my emotions to tilt to the positive side when things go wrong. All with God's help. So here are a few tips on how to have a new you (ohh let's not go into the weight loss challenge or hair style eh?):
Be honest with yourself. It took me years to realize that faking a smile is harder than crying your heart out when everything's not going your way. If you have issues with yourself, like you have a quick temper or you worry a lot, CONFRONT them now. These self defeating attitudes can break you more than the challenges in your life.
Surround yourself with friends or people that can help you change. Let go of the people that feeds your soul with negativity, people who would love to see you fall down than rise up. Life is too short to keep you baggage too heavy.
Educate yourself. Read books or go to retreats. I am currently back to reading books. I have lost my interest in reading when I went to lawschool. Would you believe that the last book I finished was the Harry Potter series? hahaha I am reading this two motivational books I found in National Bookstore. I just want to share a trivia that I have read in Harold Sala's book. Did you know that "Fear not" is mentioned 365 times in the Bible. Now, you've got one for each day of the year to keep yourself from fearing or worrying.
Do not get frustrated. Defeating your worst traits/habits can't be done overnight. It needs lots of patience and prayer.
Finally, expose yourself to challenging situations. If you are the type of person that wants everyday to be a happy ending, then you are living in the wrong world. Everyday ain't gonne be YOUR day, that's a reality we all have to face. There will be tough times ahead. These cirscumstances can either bring out the best or the worst in you. Exposing yourself to different situations can test your patience or your positivity. Just imagine that it is an immunization vaccine. You'll know that you outgrew your old self when you are faced with same kind of problems but you approach them in a better tune. If you have the same problem and the same attitude that means you flunk the test. Well, you could always go back to square one, right?
This may not be your usual beauty related post but you should always remember, having a beautiful heart and an open mind is better than having a 6 packs abs and a fair skin. :)
March appeared to be a very busy month for me. This explains my lack of blog posts and updates. I will give you a glimpse of how my week goes. I really try to balance everything. Sadly, WONDERWOMAN is not my middle name. So, I just try to make the best out my day. I recently receive these goodies from my Aunt. She asked me what makeup do I want because all my makeup got burn (db?) The first thing that entered my mind HIGH END FOUNDATION. I have been meaning to end my long time love affair with MAC Studiofix. It is my all time HG foundation but I really want to try something new. After a lot of research, I finally decided to get the Estee Lauder Double Wear in Tawny. Suits my NC35 skintone almost perfectly. My Aunt also gave me a MAC blush in the shade Melba. Thanks Ninang!!
Sweaty and Proud I m stuck with 116 lbs. after the bar exams. I really feel uncomfortable with my weight right now. I do not like to be like other girls who kept on whining on their weight without doing anything. I was one of them before but I eventually grew tired of hearing myself complain about my bulging tummy and flabby arms. Thus, I have decided that I should lose weight NOW. I am doing the INSANITY workout which is super duper mega to the max challenging for a person who is not even into sports. Before Insanity, I was doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred which I find to be very light. I am now trying to cut on my rice intake and I really want to eliminate it. Wish me luck.

I attended my sorority sister's wedding. I did my makeup and updo. The makeup artist/blogger Kim Tan commented that I know how to do my hair! haha I bought this dress in landmark for only 699 pesos! Bongga!! I had to hit the sack now, I still have a hearing tomorrow. Godbless everyone!

I have been a Nokia user for a decade. No camera. No wifi or whatever you call it where you can connect your cel to the internet. Haha Bf gifted me with an Iphone when I passed the bar. I was nonchalant about it. Besides, I was never a techie person. I can live without having a luxurious looking cellphone. However, I figure that being a lawyer, I must look damn expensive. LOL (I am fail on this as I tend to dress like a normal employee except when I have a hearing). I was not into my Iphone until BF upgraded it last weekend. Saying goodbye to my "I am a very private person, Twitter are for those who want their lives on publicized. Facebook is enough publicity for me. " haha Yup, that was my line when my friends ask me why I am not using my Twitter often. haha.. Oh well I am just going around the bush.. I feel old. Do not get me wrong I am not experiencing a quarter life crisis just yet. It is just that I miss those days when I lock myself in my room and play with makeup. Haha I attempted to do a look today. It looks so bland.The lack luster feel of it made me erase every single photo but I left this one for this post. Waahh,,, I should do more Fotds since there are no photos of my works anymore.. I need inspiration. I do not want to immerse myself with annulment cases anymore. Haha I feel so stressed hearing marital problems! It does not help me in coping with my relationship right now.

I have been stressed and depressed for the past few weeks. To those who have known me via Facebook perhaps you know the reason.
Should we, women, qualify cheating by gravity? Do we need to analyze things by degree? What I am trying to say is this - Is there a need to give an equivalent amount of reaction to every act of cheating (dating, having sex, flirtatious messages) . Where do we draw the line between cheating and a mere act of flirting? Is there a difference? The bottom line is Women get hurt by these insensitive acts of men. Whether it be a flirtatious chat with a colleague or a simple movie date with another girl, women get hurt. This undermine the basic foundation of a relationship which is TRUST. The worst thing that a man can do is defend his actions by banking on the woman's shortcomings. I am undergoing such a painful experience right now. I and my partner for ten years are trying to solve things. Can I forget and forgive such acts? Yes. However, I hate it when people (him included) justify his acts as if the crime committed was in a frustrated stage. In a relationship, cheating will always be in a consummated stage. There are no degrees to speak of, only lies to unveil. Cheating is cheating. No more no less.
I am the just a lady behind the pictures, the makeup and this blog. Most of you do not know that I am a very strong woman. My boyfriend, friends and family can attest to this. However, the hardest part in my body appeared to be my softest point. My mind and my heart is in a great struggle. With God's grace , I am hoping that everything will be alright.
Now I know what true love is. No, it is not the kilig moments often seen in movies. It goes far beyond butterflies in your stomach and sleepless nights. It is loving someone and accepting someone despite his/her flaws without any qualms. Kudos to women who are undergoing pain but is moving on with their heads up and strength in their hearts.
Happiness is a choice. Thus, I chose to be happy with him.

Hi everyone. No, there is nothing wrong with your computer or your internet browser. I do not know how to start this post or even end it. I am right now really sad. No. The right term is devastated. I had been blogging for years. I take pride on how I take pictures. Why? Because I take time to shoot the products and swatches and my fotd's. I never settled for okay. I wanted to upload the best pictures. I could take pictures as many 100 per post and I would choose the best among the bunch. I did not know that everything will all be gone just like that. My BF accidentally deleted all my pictures. My pictures in picasa web was synced to his Samsung Galaxy S2. Thinking all of the pictures were downloaded to his phone. He deleted them not knowing he deleted what is in my blog as well. I just learned it this morning. He does not have any idea too.
It seems as if my blog finally reached its natural death. I never thought that it will be too soon. I was actually planning on blogging about my future wedding preparations in the coming years or my upgrade on cosmetics escapade as I am now earning my own money.
Honestly, I do not know if I will still continue blogging. I lost hope. I lost the urge. 400 plus posts and 2000 + photos over the years, my blog now looks an empty space. I do not know how to rebuild it again. I could only upload pictures that my old computer still have. I cannot fill up all the void. It will take time for me to reupload everything. I am really sad. I do not know what to do right now. I was thinking of all the time my eyes would twitch when I take photos with flash or my arms would get tired in taking the proper pictures. No amount of money can pay all the hours I have spent on this blog. The passion I poured on everything I do. I was crying a while ago and still right now.

Finally!! I am officially - Attorney Donnarence M. Masilungan. I want to share to my readers this milestone in my life. I am soo happy but I would definitely be gazillion times happier if my grandfather was still here with us. I could drop the Atty. and exchange for another year with my lolo. However, God has His own ways. Truly, I can never understand the reasons now but I am grateful to HIM. I am nothing without GOD. I knew that I pass the exams with sheer hard work and God's grace. I do not want to go back to review again. Waking up at 6am and ending my review at 10 or 11 pm with breakfast,lunch, meryenda and dinner (plus restrooms breaks) as my only breaks. YES. I worked hard. In the first two months of review, I could still blog. I was trying to get my own phase. At the back of my head I told myself, If I fail because of blogging I will definitely destroy this blog. haha
Moving on, I signed the roll today. So it is official. I am a lawyer. :D I just want to share with these photos from my roll signing today at the SUpreme Court and my Oath Taking Dress. On my roll signing, I was rooting for my H&M Gold Brocade Dress with a Satin Blazer but I saw this Blazer at Landmark, the brand is named WORKS and when I tried it on. Yun na! I just had to get it. It looks so pretty and the fit was perfect. It cost me 1/3 of my salary! Gosh! I never knew blazers are so costly until now! I do not like to wear black and white in my roll signing because I have been wearing black and white throughout my lawschool life. YAY!!

I was polishing and cleaning a bunch of shoes in my closet a while ago because I will be hunting for a job. (Finally!! I know my parents are soo happy when I announced this to them. Haha). Oh please someone hire me!! haha These shoes have been there like forever and I have not even used most of them. I am not into heels. Why? because I am very clumsy and I walk like a gangster. In local parlance "siga ako umasta." Yes, I love makeup and I am maarte but that does not mean I am very posh and graceful!! Hell no! How I wish I was noh. I think I have more boyish ways than girlish attitude from eating habits to walking. And you do not want to hear my big deep voice. I sound so gay most of the times. haha I remembered that when I wore my favorite high heels in school before;I fell down from the stairs. Guess who is in the background of that scene (my law school crushie.. Yes I have a crush noh! And I told my boyfriend for 10 years about him.. haha I know I am such a weirdo.. I have the guts to write this on my blog because that guy was so last 2 years ago.. haha ) Anyways, those are my two favorite heels. The Calvin Klein one looks perfect in any outfit. Be it a dress or jeans. My favorite brand of high heels - Naturalizer. I can walk, run and even jump wearing them. hehe They feel so comfortable.
I know animal prints are everywhere. I am loving them too. I never thought I will be into them. I even remember seeing grandmothers wear these kind of prints before. I am now in the process of overhauling my closet. I am incorporating more formal and professional looking clothes!! I feel so old. Waahh. I am having a hard time buying clothes.We are advised by my grandmother that we must not wear clothes with happy shades/colors like red, pink, orange and the like because of my grandfather's death. This will be for one year. I came from an average and very traditional Filipino family and I respect this custom of ours.
I was supposed to do a makeup tutorial blog post about this look. I just added falsies for drama but you can do this look for 5 mins. only I only use one shade of eyeshadow!! This is a very quick and natural look for everyday. I was not very happy with the turn out of the photos. I did this look this evening. Look at my brows looking tacky with foundation. Waah. I need to fix my brows asap. I am having a hard time filling them with brow powder.
Last Monday, my grandfather suffered from heart attack. We are all in shock. He was very healthy. The only illness he suffers from is rheumatism. He is already 85 years old but seeing him suffer all these things is very painful for me. I can shout to the whole world that I was his favorite grand child. I grew up with him. I love him so much. Oftentimes, I would have these nightmares of losing him. I would wake up with tears in my eyes and with big sigh of relief I will be glad it was all a nightmare. This is my greatest fear and it did happen. He already lost his pulse yesterday at the ER. We thought he was really gone. It was the worst moment of my life. I can't even believe this is happening. I saw him being revived. I was beside him. It was a miracle. Our God is one faithful God. I can hear my voice echoing throughout the ER... "lolo, not now please." He is now in the ICU. Better than yesterday. God is so good. I know this sounds cliche but tell your loved ones you love him/her before its too late. We were given by the Almighty another chance. This was such a wonderful blessing. I hope everything will be fine the coming days.

Why am I blogging? The answer is simple... I am going crazy and too much stress is killing me. I will get back to study mode in a while. I just want to share with you my makeup evolution. I have gone through looking like a clown to feeling professional makeup artist (on myself only haha.. I am my number one client!!). The above picture was taken way back 2008. WHOA!!! Messy makeup!!! Err.. blending was not in my dictionary.. :D I have attempted to do smokey eyes gazillion of times but I ended up looking like Manny Paquiao's opponent after 12 rounds. :P When my friends and sorority sisters tell me that I apply makeup so well (on myself only) that it is because I practice. I always tell them WATCH YOUTUBE!!! HAHa I learned from youtube but it is not only from watching that will make you better.. but you have to do what they do.. (I also do the blabbing thing... like ok first you apply the foundation.. LOL as if I am filming my own videos too.. I am not kidding!)

I did my makeup in this picture. I want everything to look natural. I wanted to contour my nose more but I was afraid that I might look so fake with it.

I gained seven pounds with people telling me I do not look fat. Ohh... Now the scale is lying.. 7 lbs. in just a few months is just too alarming.
The changes in the bar examinations is causing way too much pressure on me. :C

Hi everyone. I guess a lot of you have heard the tragedy brought by typhoon Ondoy to our country. I have my own set of experience with Ondoy which is remarkably a life changing one. Last Saturday, I woke up around 330 am to study for that day's subject. I already noticed the incessant drizzle of rain. I was awaiting as early as 4am for class suspension but no announcement came. I went to school with dad as my driver. I arrived at UST before 9 am and saw students going to school. I told my dad that I will go ahead. After 15 mins or so, the office announced suspension and the rain started pouring hard. I joined my 3 other boy classmates in going home, one of whom has a car. We drop other classmates of ours at their houses because dapitan by that time is already flooded. My classmate drove all the way to e. rodriqguez and to our amazement flood had already set in. We decided not to push thru and my dad advised us to go to Puregold E.Rodriguez. We arrived their at 10 am and ate brunch. We are waiting patitently for the rain to stop. But it did'nt. It continued raining for hours. I did not think of buying any water nor food because i never thought it would take that long. The scariest thing happened. The floods cannot be controlled anymore. I saw tha bus slowly submerging in water and other cars are soon gone. But the worse is still to come,, water entered Puregold Grocery. I started crying and praying.. Memories of my 23 years of existence started flashing in my mind. I was afraid that if the rain did not stop it would fill up the whole store with us and other customers in it. I thought I would die that day... that night.. that moment. I do not know how to swim and the flood was way above the height of man. Inside the store, We are about 100+ waiting for the rain to stop, the floods to die down. I slept at the cashier (the one where you grocery stuffs are being packed). There was no electricity. I asked my dad to call for help but he sternly told me he won't. WHy? He told me that There are hundreds who need more help than us. People stuck at the top of their roof without anything. We just ate bread and water because that damn grocery store won't let us purchase anything!!! (However, I commend the employees who provided us with water, bread and candle). The floods just started going down at 5am. Thank God, I have arrived safely home. I have lived to witness the wrath of nature. I hope politicians will stop pocketing money which are provided for sewerage system infrastructure. Oh please. spare the Filipino Citizens of a country worth living. To the Filipinos, please stop throwing your garbage anywhere. DO YOUR PART. I, for instance, never throw candy wrappers or anything on the street. NO joke. I keep it my bag and throw it at home or at school. This little things help, a lot.
There are hundreds of families who lost their houses. The worst part is the growing number of people DEAD. Let us extend our help to these people. Magtulungan po tayo at Magdasal. Let us HELP EACH OTHER and continue praying.
