My Lucid Intervals

Hello MLI readers! How are you? I did a mini haul last week and these are my purchases. I bought everything with my own money but I think I overspend a bit this month. I finally bought a new lens. Yehey:) I will not disclose what type of Nikkor lens. (emphasis supplied) Just enjoy the pictures in my blog. I tried using it to shoot a video and the quality is quite amazing. These are the first few photos I shoot with my new lens.

I do not normally visit Daiso because I love Saizen more because they a lot of beauty products and cosmetics. I was lucky enough to find these gorgeous lashes at Daiso for 66 pesos only. I should have bought a few more boxes especially the lashes on the right side of the picture. They definitely remind me of the demi wispies from Ardell. I also bought this super handy and cute lash case for only 66 pesos.

My Revlon products from Ebay. I bought the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara because of the good reviews I read on the internet. The pictures of bloggers using this mascara are pretty amazing! I finally received my Colorstay Whipped Foundation. Luckily, Warm Golden suits my NC35 skintone really well. I really thought that it would look too light on me but it was perfect. However, I wished that it was more yellow in color. I road tested it today and so far so good. I will be doing an in depth review soon.

I once again bought my nth pan of the Fanny Serrano Two Cake. I also bought their gel liner in black. I think I will go back to get the brown one. I will post my review on this soon. They have an ongoing promo right now. If you buy 600 worth of FS products, you'll get a choice of free lipgloss, eyeliner or eye pencil. I got the liquid lipstick (of course) in the shade light henna which is a light mauvey color.

I just want to share my current BB Cream. This is a BB Cream from a Korean Brand, Mizon. Review on this will be soon. (Oh my,, I have loads of things to review.. hihi)

Finally, I bought a new Iphone case!! My Iphone Case looks dirty and totally unappealing. BF was the one who picked the design. This is so cute noh?

I can't believe that 2011 will soon be over. This year was a whirlwind for me. A lot happened to me especially life changing events. This year was mostly fail for makeup buys because I would usually purchase makeup online due to my busy schedule. So here is a list of my best finds this 2011 (I will not elaborate too much on products I have already made a review):

FACE PRODUCTS

San San Matte Liquid Foundation - I am really surprised that this 100 pesos foundation is on this list. I really have sensitive skin and this did not cause me any break out at all. No rashes too. I have using this for almost everyday, the first time I got it. Click here for detailed review.

James Cooper Jazzy Collection Foundation compact - Having medium yellow skin is really hard. I have a hard time choosing foundation and concealer but this product save the day. I would usually purchase concealer that is light than my skin tone. Having three shades in one compact is really good. The medium shade suits my skin very well but I do not use it that much especially the highlighter. The darker shade of the compact is my favorite because it makes my foundation and concealer suits me better. I just blend them (the darker shade and my concealer) together and I instantly get that perfect shade for me. Sadly, this is now phased out.

Ellana Mineral Concealer in Smile - I forgot to include it in this picture. My under eye concealer more often than not rubs off at the end of the day. I seriously think that looking like Wednesday Addams when I was five was so cool but having dark bags at the age of 26 is so not cool!! I look so stressed at the end of the day even if I am not. This concealer saves the day. I primarily use this for touch ups. It can get cakey so I have to exert extra effort in blending. haha

Fanny Serrano 2 way Foundation - I love this foundation and I bought my third compact yesterday. A compact would last around 4 months. No more ghostly white face in pictures!! I really think Fanny Serrano should get an applause for this product especially for the shade selection that perfectly fits Filipina skin. Click here for more information.

Sigma F80 Brush - The best brush I have ever used. Seriosly. The only problem I have now is that whenever I use my other flat top brushes, I think they prick my skin more than ever (or it is all in my head..haha).

EYE PRODUCTS

No palette this time. I just bought the Neutral Palette this year and I am not gaga crazy over it.

Nichido Kohl Pencil in Onyx - This is very pigmented and it applies like a dream even on the waterline. I use this for lining my lid my water line and even for tightlining. A detailed review on this soon.

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer - Finally!! This primer is better than all the other primers I have used even the ELF mineral Primer is no match for this one! I will do a review about this soon.

Nichido Minerals Precise Liner - It does not tug, smudge or budge!! The best liquid eyeliner on the local market to date! Click here for review.

Yanqina Mascara and Maybelline Stilleto Mascara - The best mascaras I used this year. Both made my lashes appear fuller and longer! Click here for Yanqina review and here for Maybelline Stilleto Mascare Review.

CHEEK PRODUCTS

Milani Bronzer in Medium - I bought this last November, 2010 but I mostly used it this year. I am quite surprised that I watched two Youtube Gurus raving about this. I love pairing this a light pink lipstick. I aslo use this for contouring. Click here for my bronzer collection post last 2010.

ELF Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze - The best contour powder and very cheap too. Click here for more information.

Shawill Blush in Natural Beige - Another exception to my list. I am never into shimmery blushes but I love this one a lot. It gives me that natural glow on the cheeks.

SanSan Peach Blush - One word - LOVE!! haha Click here for the detailed review.

Etude House Face Color Corset in No.1 - This is a white shimmery highlighter. I find this perfect for the Holidays. Click here for more information.

Nichido and NYX lip liners - These are my lip savers. They cover my dark outer lip line very well. They are very affordable too. I just hope Nichido will release more shades soon.

Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry - I find this better than Carmex! The cherry flavor is not over powering at all. It only costs 75 pesos.

Careline Gloss -If there is the best among the best product of the year, this will take that spot! For 60 pesos, you will get that super opaque and not sticky gloss! Winner! I cannot express how much I love these glosses. Careline, please add more matte shades. Click here and here for the swatches and review. Btw, my favorite shade is in 101.

Skincare Products

Etude House Happy Tea Time Milk Tea - I use this as a makeup remover for my eyes. I had this for months an I just finished half of the product. I bought this as a replacement for my Ponds Cold Cream. However between Ponds and this one, Ponds wins without a doubt.

Eskinol Dermaclear C mixed with Dallacin C - I cannot got out of the house and sleep without cleansing my face with this one. I use this everyday morning and evening. It makes my face super cleans and makeup free. Weird fact about me using this -- unlike other people who use this after washing their face.. I use this before washing my face. This routine worked well for me.

Belo Essentials Face Sunblock - I have no qualms using this everyday. This feels so light on my skin and not greasy at all. I just wish the SPF will be higher like their body sunblock which is I think SPF60.

Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel - I already finished this bottle. I particularly love how refreshing it is on the skin when you apply it and the scents is soo good. Click here for more information.

Mosbeau All in One Facial Cream - It felt like a serum and a moisturizer whenever I use it. It acts as a good makeup base too. Click here for more information.

Hair Products

This is so new to me. I have never been into hair products except this year.

Pure Beauty Treatment Essence Water - This smells so good and adds a bit of moisture on my hair. I use this everyday after every bath especially when my hair is still damp.

Tony Moly Silky Glaze Fruit Hair Spray - This is a very huge bottle for 179 pesos. This is the only hair spray that my nose is not allergic too. The scent is so nice. It hold my hair throughout the day too.

Lory Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate - The scent is very relaxing and this is my favorite among the other variants. It is also more moisturizing compared with the others. I used this as a everyday conditioner .

That's it ! These are the products that I would most likely buy over and over again. I love that my list still budget friendly. hehe

Choosing the top five was the hardest so I had to make it 6!

Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake

I finally gave in. After two years, I finally switched to a new powder foundation. Gawd. It took me a lot of prodding (just me talking to myself ). I ditched my in2it foundation for this one. I realized (very late realization tsk tsk) that In2it Harvest is lighter on my skin. It can sometimes give me that weird white cast on pictures. Thank goodness I did not look like a ghost on my graduation photos. I bought this powder due to the variety of shades available which I really think suits Filipina skintones really well. There were like 7 shades or 8 (sorry I did not even take note of that) but the shades are really perfect for Filipinas. I am thrilled that there is a shade for morenas and those for fair skinned ladies and those for ladies with medium skintone like me. I honestly have a hard time picking the right shade of foundation it can either get too light on me, too pinkish or way too dark. I know. Sometimes I just wish that I have a light skintone so it would be very easy for me to buy foundations and I can use a lot of BB creams too if that's the case. :D Kudos to Fanny Serrano for this. When I bought this foundation, my mom (who does not wear makeup at all... even at my graduation!!!gaahh!!) asked me if she could try it. Upon trying, guess what? She does not want to give it back to me. It was the very first time I saw her so interested with a foundation. I gave it to her but she gave me money to buy another one for myself..haha.

It comes with a mirror and separate compartment for the sponge applicator. It might seem bulky but I really don't mind. The packaging very similar to my Mom's Sally Hansen Firming Foundation.

My Shade in Orleans
Such a perfect shade for my NC37 skintone.
I think it was meant for NC40 ish skintone but I find Chino, the lighter one just almost the same with my In2it "Harvest" foundation, hence, I chose the darker shade. It can appear a bit darker than my skintone. Just a tad bit darker but after a few minutes it blends on my skin perfectly. With a spritz of my finishing spray, it looks so natural on me.

Just one swipe. This powder has a very fine and silky texture.

It blended on my skin like... MAGIC!!

On to the Product Review:

I find the packaging quite uneasy to use. You know with all the flipping and all that stuff because the mirror and the sponge is in a separate compartment. On a positive side, I like that the sponge has a separate compartment. I hate placing my sponge applicator on top of my powder since I feel like it can accumulate a lot of bacteria and all that nasty stuffs you could think of. The foundation is a steal for 399 pesos. I get 15 grams for this. That's a lot of product in a compact! My In2It foundation only weighs 9 grams. The coverage of this foundation is remarkable. It is not too cakey or heavy at all but it covers pretty well. It goes on smoothly when applied. It gives me that flawless finish. It has this subtle mocha scent. It is not really bothering at all. Plus, I did not get any zits or rashes in using this one.

I will definitely give this powder foundation a 10/10 grade.

You know, when I like a product I just extremely like it. This is not utter exaggeration!

My first time to use this foundation was on this FOTD. (used with KevinBeautymaker Aqualight Cream Foundation)

I was shocked too when I uploaded this photo. It evened out my skin tone so well but my skin does not look this perfect at all. NO PHOTOSHOP HERE.

It was my first time to use my new camera on portrait shots. just the soft skin feature of my camera.. :D godbless everyone

ohh shoot I accidentally deleted the picture!geez.. I am so sleepy. I had my political law exams today. I just hope it went well. I made this Philosophy Purse as my makeup kit because it was really roomy and the red vinyl material makes it water resistant. This is part of Philosophy's Travel kit. I am loving their Microdelivery wash and Hope in a jar.


1. Bench Sanitizer in Kiwi Frost The scent is really addicting. I lather this on my palm every now and then when I am studying my individual studyroom in the library and smell my hands thereafter. I know I am such a weirdo. 2. Wet n Wild Blush in Berry Shimmer This is my blush for the day. I now alternate different blushes and lipstick every other day to finish my makeup. 3. Lancome Sample Size Juicy Tubes in Pink Bling and Butterflies These smell like candies!! 4. Vaseline Lotion 5. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Raspberry. This never leaves my kit and it is my default blush/lipstick if I forget my blush or lipstick for the day. 6. Carmex 7. Eskinol Pressed Powder I am trying this one. I am in a search of a locally available powder that would be perfect for my dry skin. 8. Fanny Serrano Lash Curler 9. Ecotools Kabuki Brush 10. WetnWild MEgalash Mascara 11. Nichido Brow Pencil 12.
