Great Inexpensive Beauty Products
Are you looking to update your makeup bag but not burn a hole in your wallet? Don’t fret! We have compiled a list of great cheap items that can improve your look and save you some pretty pennies.
One of the best shopping tricks is to always price check on Amazon. You will be able to view various sellers and what prices the item you’re searching is being listed at. If you don’t need instant gratification (having the item(s) in your hand the day you purchase it), ordering from Amazon might be the best option for saving money.
Moisturizer
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, SPF 15 - $9.59 (on Amazon)
After trying many face lotions to try and find the best one (including more expensive brands), Neutrogena is a favorite. Part of what makes it so great is that it combines SPF in the lotion, which allows you to save money on buying another SPF product.
Alba Botanica Hawaiin Jasmine & Vitamin E Moisture Cream - $11.10 (on Amazon)
First off, this product smells wonderful! It goes on very smooth but doesn’t leave a greasy feel. Makeup can easily be applied over this cream. It is great for nearly all skin types. Again, consider ordering this off of Amazon as it can run nearly double the price in stores.
Foundation
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - $2.49 – $10.99 (on Amazon)
Don’t let the price of this foundation fool you as it’s quality is quite impressive. Even students in cosmetology school are impressed with it. This foundation goes on easily and is easy to smooth and rub onto skin. It doesn’t smear, and even a little bit goes a long way on darker spots of your skin. It doesn’t feel oily and it will give you an overall porcelain looking glow. Highly recommended!
Mascara
Maybelline Discovery Waterproof Mascara, Black - $6.29 (on Amazon)
If you like long and defined lashes without all the clumps that are the result of many types of mascara, give this one a shot. The extra thin wand and tiny bristles will help avoid thick messy lashes. The narrow wand also helps to get in those hard to reach spots near the inner corner of your eye. Apply only two to three coats and you’ll have long lucious lashes to last the day. While it is waterproof, it does wash off easily with make-up remover.

I decided to go to 168 a while ago and I did not even buy anything at all. I got stuck there for hours waiting for my dad because of the heavy downpour of rain. After a few minutes, the streets were flooded. Oh come on City of Manila?! Are you joking me? Just a few minutes of hard rain and the streets were flooded just like that? Tsk tsk.. Anyways, I was starting to get too bored lurking the busy pasilios of 168 when I chanced upon a store filled with lights and Makeup?! Yup, I headed straight to the store and saw Urban Decay, Nars and Benefit Cosmetic and MAC Cosmetics. Obviously, all are fake. I asked the saleslady, where cosmetics were these are made? She replied with confidence , "These are Singapore Made." WTH?! It does not matter where these Cosmetics are made because bottomline is -- all are fake!! Guess, it is not only Mac Cosmetics that are being counterfeited in the market. Now, they are more brands. |
I asked how much the Boi-ing concealer was and it was being sold for shockingly 150 pesos.
There you go guys. Be careful with Singapore made cosmetics and be ever cautious buying online. I have seen Benefit Cosmetics on Ebay being for sold half the price.
The general rule is do not buy online especially if you are not familiar with the seller and the authenticity of the items being sold.
Godbless everyone.

Hi! This is one of the items I picked from Sweety Pink Cosmetics (http://www.sweetypinkcosmetics.com/). Whenever a company or shop will send me sample and they asked me to picked the items to review personally, I take time to google what is the best product I can get. One of the most famous blush from Beauty UK is this Baked Blush in Royal Rose. I have seen blogs feature this and it looks so pretty on the pan. On the pan it does not look like the Milani Baked Blush at all with all the different shades and hues swirling on the pan. From the pictures I have seen in other blogs, this blush look so soft and creamy on the pan. When I opened it, it is really hard like my Milani baked blusher. I was actually bewildered. Also, unlike my milani, this has a lighter shade. When I swatched it has a sheer-light pigmentation but the shade is very buildable. I have no issues with the the pigmentation. You can see how beautiful the shade is when swatched.
No flash on this photo. See how it stayed true to its color on the pan. There are blushes that look pink on the pan but when swatched it changes color to peachy pink or rosy pink. I hope you get what I mean.
What you see on the pan is what you get when you sweep this blush on your cheeks.
This blush is a gorgeous pearlized medium rosy pink on my NC35 skin. The color does a great job of brightening up my face. I am always a matte blush person. I have this weird feeling that blushes with shimmers not only tend to highlight my imperfections and pores but also irritates my skin. I am so weird right? However, I love the sheen this blush gives. I do not know about this but most bloggers refer to this blush as shimmery. Note that in my opinion this blush is not shimmery at all. For me it has that luminosity and glow to it.
The above photo is with flash.

I was actually looking for the brush and this is the very first time I saw one like it. The blush that comes with it is a retractable brush attached underneath the blush compact.
And as you can see, this brush is scratchy and useless. HAhaha Like most brush inside a blush compact. This blush only costs 250 pesos only!
What to like about this blush?
