If there is one thing I do not really think much about in my everyday routine, that would be fixing my hair. Nope, my hair is not masunurin at all. Actually, it is borderline buhaghag and magulo all the time. Before, I have no problem in maintaining my tresses because I always have my long hair rebond. After I graduated in lawschool, I stopped going to salons for rebonding. Now, I sometimes feel that my efforts in putting on makeup is not good enough because I still looked stressed. Thanks to my unruly hair. A week ago Sampleroom sent me this gorgeous set for trial and review. I have blogged about Vitress before but have not shown full post on how I used this product.
There are three Variants for the Cuticle Coat which are the following:
Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle
Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle shields hair from heat and dullness, keeping it lustrous and shiny all the time. This has Thermo-Shield Complex Protects hair from the harmful effects of frequent curling, ironing or blow drying so you can wear all the hairstyles you want
Vitress Instant Relax Cuticle Coat
Vitress Instant Relax Cuticle Coat helps smooth stubborn waves and curls as it activates shine, right when you need it.
With Vita-Relax Technology
Helps flatten unruly, wavy hair
For a naturally straighter look
Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat
Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat restores hair from damage, giving it a sleek vibrant shine anytime
With Hydro-Restore System
Resists the ill-effects of chemicals used in perming, dyeing, and other hair treatments
For a healthy, satin-smooth hair
Vitress also has Hair polishes in a Cream Formula. I have mentioned previously that my favorite is the Heat Protect Cuticle Coat and the Sun Protect Hair Polish (which smells sooo good). In this post, I decided to try the Instant Relax Cuticle Variant and I got amazing results.
Compared to the Hair Polish which is housed in a twist cap tube, the Cuticle Coats are in a pump bottle. I love the pump bottles because I can control the amount of product to be dispensed. I usually use one and half pump of cuticle coat. I rub my palm to distribute the product and I start working with the lower half of my hair. Then I further concentrate on the ends. The remaining product (which is very little to none) is applied to the upper portion of my hair. This technique will prevent that greasy look.
Here is my amazing before and after!! Grabe!!! Suklay at Vitress lang yan!!!! I prefer using Vitress Cuticle Coat on dry hair while the Hair Polish works best on damp hair.
My hair definitely looks healthier and bouncy. The cuticle coat from Vitress did not weigh it down. Bravo. I am finally saying ADIOS to buhaghag hair! Thanks to Vitress. I have found my new hair hero in Vitress Instant Relax. What do you think?
I chanced upon the newest brands of drugstore makeup in Megamall last week and I could not help but share it with all of you. Super duper naexcite ang lola niyo because of this latest discovery. Jordana is now available in MNL!! hooray! Finally! I have seen Jordana in 1$ store in Greenhills but that store does not carry the whole line of Jordana products. So, when I saw this stall in SM Megamall, I went gaga crazy swatching the blushes (with hetchmarks pa ang testers meaning ako ang unang nagswatch galore sa kanila!!) Anyways, the price range of the products is very affordable. Their blushes only costs 149 pesos and their powder foundation 199 pesos only. I forgot to look into their liners and brow products. I will definitely go back to test out more of their products. I am really hoping they will bring in the modern matte lipsticks but their original/regular matte lipsticks are locally available. I also forgot to check if they have the made to last eyeshadow liners which are really good. I have the shade in continuous almond which is a skintone shade perfect for the waterline.
Here is a quick review of the blush that I bought from them. I got the shade Blushing Rose. They have 10 shades of blushes available but I have mustered enough strength to limit my purchase that day. Hehe Blushing rose is a deep wine or a mauvey plum shade with gold shimmers. It is housed in a tacky and fragile screw cap container. This is said to be a dupe for Tarte's Blushing Bride Amazonian Clay Blush.
I was really drawn to this shade because my makeup stash mostly contain pinks and peach shades of blushes.
This blush is very pigmented. The color once applied on the cheeks/skin is true to the color you see on the pan. The consistency and texture of this blush is smooth, a bit creamy, and is not too powdery. On my cheeks, it looks like a healthy flush of berry color with a hint of sheen due to the gold shimmers it contains. This shade compliments my warm skin tone very well. This lasts 3 hours on me without retouching. I would definitely try more of their shades!!
Another newest brand in the local market is Golden Rose. This brand is originally from Turkey and has been known in Europe for over 30 years. The stall of Golden Rose is right beside Jordana. I was so overwhelmed with Jordana products that I was not able to look into this brand very well. From my research, their popular products are their Velvet Matte Lipstick and stick foundation. I got their Velvet Matte Lipstick on a whim. I never thought that I will find a highly creamy and pigmented matte lipstick in the drugstore that day. This lipstick totally killed my lemming for Colourpop Lippiestix.
I got the shade #12 which is a medium rose berry shade with slight hints of brown tones. The color is a brightening everyday my-lips-but-better shade. This is a very creamy semi matte lipstick that has a superb color pay off. I do not need lipliner whenever I use this lipstick because it is very pigmented on its own. This does not highlight the lines of lips and does not bleed. This lipstick is also not too drying compared to the other matte lipsticks that I have tried however I still need to hydrate my lips to prevent unwanted chapping. Staying power is good. This lasts 3-4 hours on my lips even after I eat or drink but I do notice fading on the inner corner of lips. This also leaves a very very subtle stain on the lips after hours of wearing the lipstick .
I also found out out through their Website that this Velvet Matte Lipstick line has 27 shades but locally, (I think) we only have less than 10 available. This lipstick only costs 199 pesos. What I don't like about this is its packaging. The lipstick cap does not click to secure that it is already locked in place. I will look into their Waterproof lip liner soon.
Here is a picture of me using Jordana Blush Rose and Golden Rose Velvet matte Lipstick in No. 12
What do you think of these newest makeup brands?
I am excited to go back to Megamall to check more of Golden Rose products.
I am kind of jealous to the generation today because most girls, ladies and women alike have easy access to everything beauty related whether it be through youtube channels or blogs. Most girls nowadays are very much aware of the how to's on how to improve themselves. When I was in high school, I was dumbfounded on who to ask what soap to try to even out my skintone (my arms are way darker than the rest of my body) or what moisturizer to use to prevent my skin from drying out. My mom is not very much into beauty, so we are on the same boat. Hence, this blog was created to document my makeup musings to help others learn more about beauty and to feature makeup products (that won't break the bank). I am very much inspired to be part of SkinWhite's #BetterMe Campaign. SkinWhite, the leading and pioneer skin whitening brand in the Philippines, aims to give Filipinas the tools they need to improve who they are both inside and out. SkinWhite launched a four month campaign called #BetterMe to help inspire and empower teens.
Last April 22, 2015, SkinWhite held an outreach to the young women of Brgy. Tagalag of Valenzuela City. This barangay is second to the poorest barangay in Valenzuela. The SkinWhite Captivate Council had a girl bonding time with 20 girls from the aforesaid barangay. A personality development seminar was given by KA Antonio wherein she talked about good grooming and self confidence. This Charity work made possible by SkinWhite is very apt for their corporate social responsibility. Being in the beauty industry, SkinWhite is reaching out to women and girls from all walks of life in order to teach them more about beauty inside and out. This is like giving back to the community on a very beautiful and positive note. This reminded me to give back to others. The grace of our Lord is overflowing in my life and the blessings that come forth should be shared not only to my family members but also to other people. Like, there are different instances where one can help to community. In our church, CCF we have different means on how to share our blessings to others like sponsoring a child to go to school for only 200 pesos a month or even giving aid to international ministry.
Here are some photos from the SkinWhite Event that happened last April 22:
So nice to see the smiling faces of these young ladies !!
How can this #BetterMe Campaign translate into our everyday lives? Have you heard people saying ang pangit mo na nga ang pangit din ng ugali mo? Sounds too melodrama and telenovela-ish but I do feel that our outward appearance sometimes dictates what we feel inside or vice-versa. I usually experienced this when I feel too stressed with life. Looking back, I would looked too haggard and would feel irritable. This is what the #BetterMe Campaigns aims to build a YOU inside out. That being said, mawawala ba naman ang product review with SkinWhite Products? hehe

It uses a unique technology that magically transform this moisturizing cream into a light,
matte powder once it touches your skin. This product uses Synchronized Whitening action
through multiple actives to ensure you achieve beautiful blush white skin. You’ll love
the Vitanourish formula that effectively softens and hydrates your skin!
Available in White, Light Beige, Rose White, and Natural Beige shades.
Here is a photo of me using the SkinWhite Whitening Cream Face Powder in Light Beige on the other half of my face. This is an airwhipped cream product that turns into a matte powdery finish after being blended on the skin. As you can see, it did brightened and even out my skin. It is best for everyday use because it is very easy to use and apply. It works well on dry surface so I suggest skip the moisturizer is possible. It can cancel out the redness on my skin but can highlight my dry patches. It works best when my skin is rash free. :) This is a go to product when I am in a hurry like when I have market errands or grocery shopping to do. Yes, tita na ang peg ko kaya ganyan ang errands ko. hehe
SkinWhite Advanced PowerWhitening Lotion
P71 for 50ml, P123.25 for 75ml, P235 for 200ml
Want noticeably whiter skin instantly upon application? This lotion uses an exclusive Advanced
Tripower Technology to whiten instantly and continuously to help reveal your whitest white.
It also contains a Vitanourish formula that’s spiked with vitamins B3, B5 and E to give
your skin intense moisturization and protects you from UV rays and further skin darkening
with SPF20.
This is a non greasy lotion that gives instant whitening once applied. This makes my skin magically turn a shade lighter that is why I love using this one days when I am wearing shorts or skirts. :) This is not too oily nor greasy, I don't feel uncomfortable using this even for everyday. However, my skin needs a bit moisturization so I used another lighter lotion to hydrate my skin more paired with this product.
left leg with lotion; right without lotion
Skinwhite Advanced Power Whitening Soap
P26 for 65g, P44.50 for 90g; P60.75 for 125g
Whenever your skin is exposed to the sun, it causes your body to produce more melanin.
The more melanin you have, the darker your skin becomes. This soap helps you prevent
and reverse skin darkening whenever you use it, so you score noticeably whiter skin in as
early as 7 days! It uses Synchronized Whitening action and is enriched with the
Vitanourish formula that contains vitamins B5, B3, and E to effectively whiten,
soften, and hydrate your skin.
This is a very affordable whitening soap that is not harsh on the skin. This is the soap I am currently using now and I really like its clean and fresh scent. It did not irritate my skin and does dry my skin compared to other whitening soaps. :)

I got an awesome privilege to be invited at the Shiseido Beauty Penthouse. At that time, they were also launching Shiseido's Autumn/Winter Collection for 2015. Two of the products sent to us from this line is the Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Mood Veil and the Dramatic Melting Rouge Lipstick. When I got the products, I was instantaneously mesmerized by the packaging! The products are housed in a gold structured cube cover. For reference, please see the photos. I was not able to wait til the next morning before I could make a decent product shot that I immediately swatched these awesome babies.
The Dramatic Mood Veil is a blush and highlighter all in one. It says on Shiseido Website that this product is powdery yet creamy and blends easily for a natural rosy glow. This blush consists of 5 colors in 5 different textures for cheeks and face. This blush/highlighter is a mixture of satin, matte and slightly shimmery blushes. On the pan, the colors may look the same but it magically delivers different hues on my cheeks depending on the color combination that I use. The Dramatic Mood Veil is very creamy and I find that it is not too powdery. The colors may look light on the pan but it gives off a very pigmented color pay off on my cheeks. I was surprised as well because I have medium skin tone and this looks good on me considering that most light colored blushes looked chalky and patchy on my skin especially those that have pink tones.
This has five shades ranging from light peach, shimmer white, medium rosey pink, light muted pink and a medium barbie pink. All look wearable and delivers a youthful glow when applied. Why five shades?I copy pasted the explanation from Shiseido's Website here for info.
Contrary to the Directions set by Shiseido on how to use this product, I have never tried wearing this underneath my eyes!!! Although, I might try experimenting on it the next time. It comes with a unique blush brush which is very helpful.
It comes with a brush and a dome sponge at the other end. I primarily use the brush and swirl it on the pan because that's the easiest and fastest way to apply this product. If I wanted more color or pigment, I use the dome shaped sponge. This is perfect for applying blush on the apples of the cheeks for a doll like effect but of course, there is a need to blend the colors.
I find that this blush stays on my cheeks for hours and is one of my long staying blushes in my kit. I just noticed that most of my light colored blushed have the best staying power on my cheeks compared to my other blushes. This costs 2100 pesos and is available at Shiseido Counters. This also comes with a refill priced at 1700. I really think that despite the hefty price tag, this can last me over a year because a little amount of this product goes a long way.
Here are the swatches at the back of my hand:
This is how this Dramatic Mood Veil looks on my cheeks. See how it makes me look glowing. If you are not a fan of shimmery products like me, this product is worth a try because it gives off that good amount of glow without looking like a disco ball!!Btw, this blush comes in two shades Coral Red and Peach Pink. I got the shade Peach Pink.
Next is the Dramatic Melting Rouge Lipstick.
According to Shiseido, this is a beauty-oil based rouge lipstick that promises sheer color with luxurios gloss. True enough, this is a very nice sheer glossy lipstick. It has a slight fruity scent to it but goes away after application. This is housed in a twist up pen. I had a hard time choosing the color for this lipstick. Most shades are pink or red so I chose a rosey one. I imagined it to be rose pink color for everyday wear but this was better than I imagined. RS329 or Rose Rendezvous is a beautiful grapefruit color. It has a right amount of pinks and plums combines. I love how it complements PK 0002 Dramatic Mood Veil blush. This lipstick is one of the most unique shades in my kit. Walang halong stir!!
It goes on glossy and sheer but the color is very buildable. It also feels a bit moisturizing compared to my other glossy lipsticks. This reminds me of a glossy balm or lip butters that gives the lips that much needed hydration. This does not settle on the fine lines and has a good amount of staying power sans eating and drinking. This has no shimmers at all which I really like. My only concern is that this lipstick tends to bleed because of the glossy formulation. My solution is pairing it with a good lip liner. Of course, my trusted Nichido Rosette always saves the day.
Here is an illustration from Shiseido Website on how this products works:
How it looks on my lips. I do feel that this lip swatch does not justify the true color of this lipstick but you can definitely see how pigmented and glossy it looks on my lips.
I forgot the price of this rouge lipstick. I will post it soon.
What do you think of this lates Collection from Shiseido?
Overall, I really love all the products and I have been using them almost everyday!!!
Hello everyone!!! I finally had time to blog about this very affordable (cheap) face primer that I chanced upon in Watsons last 2 months ago. I have been seeing this LOL brand in Watsons but I never had the urge to buy any of their products. Most of their products have that teeny bopper vibe especially the packaging!!!! Eh ako naman feeling titas of manila ang peg kaya I never dared buy any of their products until I saw this primer. This looks like an ordinary primer in a tube but when I got curious because of the 159 pesos price tag (siyempre kuripot queen alert). I immediately scanned through the ingredients and saw GLYCERINE as one of its main ingredients. I remembered Nikkietutorials using the Nivea Aftershave Balm as her primer because it contains glycerine and she love it!! Also, back in my early blogging days when I have no money and courage to buy a Mac Fix Plus, I would mix Glycerine and water to create the perfect mist primer. I immediately bought one tube and I was very hopeful on this product.
I tested it during a very hot and humid weather. By mid day, my face looks like a disaster. My face looked too cakey and messed up. I tried it again the next day and got a horrible result. I tossed this primer in my makeup cabinet. Last week, I gave this primer another chance and to my amazement this looked super nice on my dry skin. Okay, I have this theory why this primer did not worked on me before. First, I used a very heavy moisturizer and this primer is not silicone based, hence, physiogel ai cream + LOL primer = super duper moisturized skin. This explains the meltdown commotion back then. When I used this primer last week, I used AVENE Hydrance moisturizer which is a very light moisturizer and tada---- this primer worked well with AVENE.
Okay, let's head on to the review. This product is housed in a plastic tube that looks like a travel sized lotion. This product has no scent. This product is unlike a silicone based primer. This is a lotion type primer which applies like a light moisturizer then dries into a semi matte/tacky finish. I really think that this is perfect for those with normal to dry skin types. It goes on smoothly when applied and I think that it can be used alone as a moisturizer/primer for those with oilier skin types sans the daily moisturizer. This takes a few seconds to dry but I can really feel that it preps my dry skin for makeup base very well. It gives me a slight smoothing effect but the best part is -- it makes my skin feel so hydrated. I feel that everytime I use this my skin feels so healthy (or I can also attribute this to Avene). Does it make my makeup last longer? Yes but not as much as my silicone based primers. I do think that this is a very good product to prep the skin. Lastly, this did not irritate my skin nor did it cause my skin to break out. Does it blur out my pores or imperfections? HMM.. just a bit. It can not even out my psoriasis flare outs but it smoothens my cheeks and undereyes.
I prefer using this primer on colder months. Will I buy again? Hmm... probably!!! :) For 159 pesos, I think that this is a good bargain. Just a word of caution -- I have dry skin so this product may probably worked for me but I have no idea if this will work with oilier skin.
Have you bought something from LOL? What are your thoughts on this brand?
