Kinain na po ako ng sistema! I must admit that I am pretty much obsessed with K Beauty lately and my favorite website to shop at is none other than ALTHEA KOREA. They just recently have their birthday. I got three boxes but I failed to take photos of the last one!
Here are the boxes that I got:
Finally got the Clio Pro Artist Liquid Concealer. This concealer is very popular lately. I finally got myself the PeriPera Ink Velvet in Dollish Beige Rose. I really loved it so I got my second shade in Celeb Deep Rose in my second Box. I also got all the three shades of Tony Tint Delight. I forgot to take photos of these but I will be blogging about them soon. I also got the WLab Sebum Out Finish Pact because of the high reviews on the Althea website. Did you know that Althea offers free product upon check out. I got the Nella Black and Black Cleanser for free. I also got The Saem Pot Concealer. During my visit in Korea in 2014, I got this concealer and loved it so much. Sadly, I lost it. This concealer only costs 180 pesos at Althea!!! Such a great deal right?
Since Clio is very popular lately, I got the Kill Cover cushion on my second box. I One of the first products that I ordered from Althea was the Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip and Cheek Trio. I got two new shades - Plum and Fruit Mix. This Lip and Cheek Trio works so well both as a blush and lipstick!! This product truly deserves a rave on my blog! I blogged about the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask wash off here - http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2017/07/skinfood-black-sugar-mask-review.html
Another repurchase is the Nature Republic Aloe Mist. I forgot to take pictures of the Holika Holika Jewel Light Gel Liners in Brown Amber and Black and The Saem Ecosoul Lip Oil.
What product would you like me to review first?

National Lipstick Day is just around the corner and what is the best way to celebrate it? Hoard lipsticks at discounted price! Today, I will be doing a review on one of my most favorite local lipstick - Pink Sugar Creamy Matte. When I was just starting out with beauty blogging ( way back in 2009), finding a good lipstick from a local brand is impossible on my end. When Pink Sugar launched their HD and Creamy Matte lipsticks in neutral and everyday shades of brown, pink, and peach, I knew they were going to be on my hit list.
This 2017, Pink Sugar launched three newest shades for the Creamy Mattes Line! The shades are Heartbreaker, Breakfast in Bed, and French Kiss. This has a very rich and creamy texture. The color is very opaque and one to two swipes are enough for the full color to show. The lipstick is a bit dry on initial use. It is advisable to warm up the product first at the back of the hand to make application smoother. These lipsticks glide on smoothly even on chapped and dry lips. These lipsticks do not emphasize the dry areas of my lips. These are infused with shea butter, hence, these are moisturizing when worn. They don't dry nor crack my lips. The finish is not flat matte but these have a bit of sheen to them. They are long wearing too. I love wearing them everyday or whenever I attend hearings or meetings because they last up to 5 hours on my lips sans eating.
Left to Right: Breakfast in Bed, French Kiss, and Heartbreaker
Breakfast In Bed, Heartbreaker, French Kiss
Breakfast in Bed is a pretty warm peachy beige color
Heartbreaker is a rosy terracotta color
French Kiss is a blue toned reddish fuchsia
These lipsticks costs 349 pesos per tube.
Have you tried Pink Sugar's lipsticks? What shade is your favorite?

Hi! From this post's title, it is finally official. I have decided that my lucid intervals will not be confined to beauty posts or makeup related. This time, I will be sharing with all of you my new passion in life - motherhood. I never thought I would love this new role si much. Years ago, I shun the thought of having children because I was a self centered young adult whose primary aim in life is to enjoy and make money. Little did I know that motherhood will bring me to such stage in my life where my heart is filled with so much love and joy despite not having a lot of sleep, gaining weight, looking haggard, and other brow raising moments and unexpected dramas I could ever experience. It was a rollercoster ride for new mommy like me and I LOVE IT!
For my first every Mommy Lucid Intervals post, I decided to feature that has helped me a lot in my breastfeeding journey - Spectra 9 plus double electric breast pump. I spent countless days and nights reading reviews on breastpumps when I was pregnant. My husband would always tell me ano ba yan puro gastos nasa isip mo! (Hehe) I wanted to be sure of the pump that I will purchase because pumps are expensive!! I have two brands in mind but I finally settled with Spectra. I bought mine at one of my favorite baby stores - www.babymama.ph They have an online store and a physical store in ortigas a newly opened branch in Taguig.
Here are the features of Specta 9 Plus:
- Portable
- Rechargeable battery
- LCD lit screen with timer
- Usage up to 12x a day (upgraded models)
- Letdown/massage mode and expression mode
- Adjustable suction strength; as you increase the suction, the speed will slow down.
- Quiet motor
- Closed system (backflow preventor prevents backflow of liquid which causes mold)
I chose 9plus because it is lightweight and portable. At first, I really thought that it is not sturdy because it has that "plastic feel". I have this weird notion that the heavier the product, the better its quality. I was wrong. Its weight and compact form is one of its best feature. This easily fits in my office bag. It has 2 modes massage and expression mkde with adjustable suction strengths. For massage, the highest suction is at 5 while for expression, the highest suction is at 10. It also has a timer where you can see the amount of time you have been pumping. I got the old model which can only be use for 6x a day. The newer moder can be used for 12 x a day!!!!! I can easily switch from single pump to double pumping with ease. During those days when I still have a lot of milk, I can pump 8-9 oz within 5-10 minutes! Yes! Ganon kabilis! The suction strength of this pump is strong and gentle at the same time. It can drain my breasts within that short amount of time. Spectra has a close system which prevents breastmilk from going to the motor. This makes this pump hygienic. It is rechargeable and has a fast charger. The battery can last up 1 1/2 day. This pump automatically turns off after 30 minutes of use. This pump has a quiet motor.
This pump has been my partner in my breastfeeding journey. I bring it everywhere! This is really perfect for moms on the go. After 8 months of use, I can say that I am very satisfied with this pump. I can give a scor of 10/10.
Cons:
The old model is not for heavy duty use. I can only use it for a max of 6x per day. The new version can be use up to 12 x a day. There are times that it takes a minute before the suction actually starts. I have to readjust the parts and the position to make it work. The screw cap is a bit loose now and I think I need to get a new flange and bottle.
Looks complicated eh? Actually, it is very easy to assemble! I even did not read the manual when I first use the pump. Make sure to put all the parts correctly or else it will not work.
Visit www.babymama.ph for more info on Spectra pumps.

The only thing that remained constant in my life after giving birth was a good kilay. Sabi nga nila - Kilay is Life! Even after giving birth, I still have the time to do my brows despite having no time to dress up properly. For months, I have been using this Maybelline brow products. These were sent to me for review. This post has been long overdue but I decided to share it with you as these products has been living in my kikay kit for months!
Fashion Brow 3D Cream Pencil with Brush -199 pesos
This brow pencil comes with a very useful spoolie. This is very affordable and it comes in three shades. I prefer using Brown and Dark Brown to create a more natural looking brows. this pencil boasts of its angle tip. I find the unique edge shape of the pencil is very much similar with other brow pencils. The fact that it is angled did not help in drawing or even filling in my brows. Sharpening the pencil is the best to achieve a more precisely framed brows. The pencil is really creamy and pigmented. Due to its creamy and pigmented texture, it can instantly draw and fill in the brows. This has a very waxy feel and does a good job of taming my brows. I can create a seemingly au naturel looking brows to a strong kilay goals with these pencils. They have a creamy consistency but it dries into a powdery matte finish. This blends well when I brush my brows with a spoolie.
The downside of these pencils:
They can be cakey and hard to work with. There are times when I could hardly fill in my brows properly because of this. They rubbed off after a few hours. Lastly, frequent sharpening is needed. When the tip of these pencils are not pointed, achieving a well drawn brow edges and tail is surely a miss.
Swatches: Light Brown, Brown, Deep Brown
I use Brown for filling in my brows and the Deep Brown for the outline and tail.
Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer - 399 pesos
This Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer has an elongated tear drop shaped with very tiny bristles. When I first saw the brush, I told myself, "Ay!Hindi ito eefect!!! ang pangit ng brush!" Of course, nagsalita na naman ako ng hindi pa nattry ang product and I eventually fell in love with it the first time I used it. It does a great job of making my brows look more softer and natural. It separates my brows and adds an illusion that I have more brow hair making it look fuller. Sadly, this does not work on its own. I like it as a brow setter as it does a great job of keeping my brows in place.
Here's a photo showing my brow without makeup, my brow with Maybelline Fashion Brow 3d Pencil, and lastly with the Brow Precise Volumizer.
I am almost done with these products, I am not in the hunt for a new brow pencil. Any recommendations?

I have previously mentioned that I am very much into Korean skincare. One of the latest addition in my stash is the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask. I have been hearing a lot of good reviews about this product for years now. I finally gave in and got it at Althea for a sale price of only 330 pesos. (
http://ph.althea.kr/)
For reference, my skin has been acting up lately. I really noticed that my skin aged after I gave birth. Lately, I also noticed that my skin has a lot of tiny raised bumps and rough flaky areas.
The product is housed in a plastic tub. It weighs 100 grams and sadly, it did not come with a spatula. The scent is a mixture of sweet and citrus fragrance which I am in love with. I rarely like scented skincare products but this one is really good. The black sugar granules felt rough and seemed abrasive on the skin. As mentioned in the direction for use, I made sure my face was damp for a smoother exfoliation process. The exfoliation process was very soothing. It was my first time in years to use a scrub again because I switched to peeling gels years ago. This Black Sugar Mask did not disappoint. I gently massaged it on my cheeks and nose area. I focused on my flaky areas. After rinsing with water, this mask instantaneously left my skin soft like my baby's skin!!!!! Bongga talaga! It magically removed the dry areas. My face did not feel sore and tight after the process. As per recommendation, I only use this once a week and I immediately follow it up with a soothing/moisturizing mask.
Overall, this is a perfect ten for me!! I love this exfoliator and it does a great job of removing dead skin cells. After use, I also noticed that this made my skin looked brighter.
What is your favorite exfoliator or scrub?
