Hi everyone!!This will just be a quick post on my newest bargain find. I had been meaning to buy a nice brush holder because I just use a mug to hold my most used brushes all together. These are the brushes I mostly use. However, in truth and in fact - I only use 5 brushes when putting on my makeup. Sometimes, I just use my fingers to apply liquid foundation/bb cream and even eyeshadows. I rarely use blush when going out especially with BF because he does not want me wearing makeup especially foundation! Argggh!!! I was with my mom when we visited Daiso last week. She was going loco with the bowls that costs 88 pesos! Hahaha When she was paying at the counter, I saw these plastic containers and I immediately thought of using it as a brush holder.
I like that it has dividers so I can separate my face brushes from my eye brushes and so on.
For 88 pesos, who would not agree that this is such a steal?? hehe
The best part is the wide compartments where I place my Etude House Babydoll Puff with my Kabuki Brushes.
Look at my Etude House Babydoll Puff? It looks so gross already. I have only been using that for weeks ha!? Now, I can truly say that I will definitely not repurchase!
My eye brushes. Can you tell my favorite? Of course that would be my ELF Blending Brush. :D I can create a lot of eye makeup looks using only that brush. Btw, those are faux MAC brushes the ones my Aunt from NYC gave me. She ordered it from Amazon.com. Thank you tita!! I hope you are reading this post. I love what you sent me and I am using them already.. :D
That's it! What kind of brush holder are you using?
Hi everyone!!! I saw these lipsticks from a post of Kumiko or Lovingsunshine.com. I wanted a red lipstick that is really cheap since I am not into red lippies (they have the tendency to makeup my lips look bigger!!! arghhhh!!! ). Anyways, I am so late on finding these lipsticks considering that I have a strong penchant for local cheap thrills! Correct me if I am wrong but I think they are the cheapest LOCAL brand of makeup available in the Philippine market. Of course, I was expecting this to be made in China but it is made in Taiwan. Hmmm.. Will there be any difference if that's the case? NYX and Maybelline are both made in China and their products are very nice! I am also looking at their ingredients and I saw no sign of parabens in it .. or perhaps they just included a different name??
I wanted to get five lipsticks but I forcefully (haha) restrained myself from getting five! Why? Because I ordered 6 or 7 NYX lippies!! They have not yet arrived but I am really excited to get my hands on them.
Here are the lip swatches:
J This shade is a very pigmented neutral deep red. This is perfect for warm/yellow skin tones like me. I have a hard time finding a nice red lipstick and this one compliments my skintone and does not make my teeth yellow.
N This is a very beautiful peachy pink shade. I find this lipstick creamier than the other two shades.
Q This is a frosty blue toned pink. This shade is quite tricky. It may not suit majority of Filipina skin that much.
What I love about these lipsticks:
Pigmentation is good. Shade N and J are very pigmented! With shade Q, you have to double the layer to get your desired shade/pigmentation.
The texture of shade N is creamier compared to the other two. They are easy to apply and glides smoothly on the lips unlike Ever Bilena's Matte lipsticks. Also, compared to the very soft texture of NYX round lipsticks, these are way better since they do not smear nor stain my teeth.
Very cheap!!!
Locally available
It has a nice staying power (2-3 hours, if my memory serves me right).
It has manufacturing date. This will serve a good guide in determining whether these lipsticks have already expired.
They have a wide range of colors. Majority of the shade are very wearable.
What I do not like about these lipsticks:
The packaging is very tacky. Poor packaging talaga!!!! Well, what do you expect in a 50 pesos lipstick!?!
These can be drying on the lips (not too much though.. that is for my lips ahh.. ).
No funky smell when applied on the lips. However, when you will intentionally smell these lipsticks (as in close to your nose..), it has a faint plastic smell.
I hate the alphabet shade names!!! Hello!?! A B C D E F G?? The names are so hard to recall.
Strolling around the mall for three hours alone can be exhausting and amusing all at the same time. I accompanied my mom to a seminar in Makati but I vehemently refused to attend the seminar itself!! haha I went immediately to Landmark after dropping her at the seminar.I have been looking for a teasing comb ever since I got into hair styling. I wanted the teasing comb that Say got in her previous video and I also saw Noe with a nice teasing comb but they are not available in Manila. Sad! Then , I found this comb at Landmark for only 35 pesos!! I also found this super cute Leopard printed (fake gold plated.. haha) handy mirror. Would you believe that I do not carry a mirror in my makeup kit?! I also bought my very first oil blotting paper and a nice black feather earrings. I forgot to take a picture of these.
Lush is on sale! I got this for half the price! I love the almond scent and the SA told me that this soap is really moisturizing.
My new makeup kit! I have been searching for this organizer for ages!! I have been to different malls already but they are always out of stock. I think the label should add "PROUDLY" in MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES, don't you think? I love it! I will make a separate updated makeup kit post soon.
I bought this spa milk salt because my body needs major exfoliation!! I also bought the SNOE Here Comes the Sunblock. This brand is pretty popular with a lot of bloggers lately. Bec, told me that this one is really nice. This is also a proudly Filipino made product. Review about this product soon.
Hi everyone! I went to Landmark, Trinoma yesterday.I have been aching to go there since I have learned that they are selling these cheap and affordable brushes. If you are like me who does not like brush sets, I suggest you check their brushes out. I was expecting to find kabuki brushes but there was none at all.. :C I saw a lot of brush holders though!!
I bought this faux leather one. Very posh noh? Only 139 pesos!! This is my fave buy of all. They sell different sizes and they also sell a larger brush holder for 299 pesos.
It looks like this when closed.
So here is a quick rundown on the brushes that I bought, I have not actually use them at all.
Sigma Brushes look alike. Teehee. They just look like Sigma brushes but the quality are far fetched from those of Sigma's. Each costs 139.75 pesos.
See how flimsy the flat top is? I already washed it and it sheds a bit. It is soft but not as soft like that of Sigma or Charm flat top brush. It is very evident that the bristles are synthetic and with a plastic sheen on it.
If I am not that impressed with the F80 brush look alike. I love this angled brush. This is denser and it is also soft. I finally have an alternate brush for my Marrionaud N32 brush that I always bring for blush touch ups.
I have been dying to get a fan brush. The problem,, I do not know how to use this. HAHA This costs 154.75 pesos. Not bad right? The bristles are just ok and soft.
This is a nice and thin angled brush. It costs 39.75 pesos.
This is a long handled flat shader brush for 119.00 pesos.
See how flat it is?
I also bought tiny version of the shader brush for 89.75 pesos.
BTW, I can put two eye brushes on a single pocket. :D
Have you seen these brushes from landmark? Share your thoughts on them.. I just hope they have more eye brushes (like the bullet and crease brushes) and kabuki brushes too.
It is the stall most of you just pass by when you go to the department store. Ever Bilena, Nichido and Careline.. Who would love these makeup if you can buy Nars and MAC in a jiffy. I never thought being jobless and bum (since I plan to get a job on January.. oh please spare me this holiday season.. I just need a good break. :D) could lead me to enjoy more of Filipino made Makeup products. They are really cheap and affordable. I was hella scared trying blushes and foundations from these makeup brands because I broke out from Ever Bilena Foundation always. It never fails. Thus, such incident created this stigma that I need to stay away from their face products. Their lip and eye makeup are good enough for the price you pay. I was the usual bum surfing the net when I chance upon dazzler's review on this blush. Here is her link. I am looking for a nice coral/peachy shimmery blush for the holidays. I told you I am loving shimmers lately. I was also thinking of getting Sleek Powder Blush in Rose Gold because of the gold sheen effect of it. What do you think? Anyways, my all time favorite pink blush is from Ever Bilena too. The shade is Pink Petal. Click here for more information. So, I thought that this blush is also worth a try since I did not break out from their blush.
If I saw this blush on stand, I would not dare swatch it at all. It looks so light it's as if it would not show up on my medium yellow toned skin. However, when I saw Dazzler's review, I just can't wait to get one for myself. I asked my mom to get one for me that same day when I read the review. HAHA When I got it, I tested it outright. OMG!! It's one of the most beautiful blush for me. This is not exaggeration. LOL I was really looking for this shade. I was thinking of getting the ELF studioline blush in Candid Coral because of Judy. Check out her video to see how gorgeous her cheeks look with the ELF blush.
However, when I went to the ELF counter to swatch the candid coral, the color does not show really well on me. :C
One swipe. The shade is a beautiful coral on a peachier note. It has a subtle shimmer and gives my skin that much coveted glow!! I seriously love it.
The shade is very buildable too. I love it!!!! For 110 pesos, it is a very FAB FIND!
What is your favorite coral blush? Care to share? Godbless everyone!
I got this angled eyeshadow brush from HBC today. This only costs 67 pesos. I was quite impressed with this one. Sorry for the crappy shots.. I took this at around night time where my best lighting, Mr. Sunshine is not available anymore. I thought I have found the best shadow brush in ELF's blending brush but this one is a tough contender.
For 67 pesos, I was not even expecting this to be soft. I was proven wrong. It has soft bristles and I use tried using it to contour my nose. It was perfect!! the angled shape made it so easy. I also tried using it on my crease and it was easier to use than the ELF blending brush.
The size is almost as big as my ecotools brush.
False Lashes at 20 pesos!! Someone commented on my blog before ( I am sorry I cannot really recall her name), she mentioned about HBC falsies for only 20 pesos. I checked it out and I was pretty amazed. I love their falsies a lot!! I love the fact that it is curved which makes it really easy to put on.
Another version of the falsies which is fuller. What I only hate about it is that some falsies appear really brown so I have to rummage through their display to pick the black ones.. These two still have a hint of brown on them. When, I use them I feel like having lash extensions because they look so dramatically natural!
Looking for a lipstick?? Can't seem to find the right shade? On a tight budget?
ELF has the answer.
Presenting... ELF's Beauty Encyclopedia. For 5$ you get 12 lip color, 2 glosses, 1 lip liner and a brush..
How I wish this came with a mirror inside. This is perfect for travelling. The colors are all nice and they are pigmented. I was quite impressed with the lip color's consistency because it is creamy just like an ordinary lipstick. I have the Sonia Kashuk lip palette and it was really goopy and runny but this one from ELF is intact and solid on the pan but creamy on the lips. However, I must moisturize my lips very well because it is quite drying.
