Ultimate wear concealer conceals flaws, imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours.Transfer proof and water resistant for full and long lasting coverage. Provides beautiful, shine-free, blemish-free skin for every waking hour. I have been on the search for the most affordable concealer with amazing coverage for my dark under eyes. I have seen Tati of GlamLifeGuru raved about this and Lisa Eldrige's tutorial. When I blogged about Collection Cosmetics, a few of my readers asked me about this but I did not see this concealer on my first trip to the Ramp, Trinoma. Since then, I was on the lookout for this concealer. Sadly, most of the stalls I have seen only carries the lightest shade. I was on the verge of buying MAC Pro Longwear Concealer but chanced upon this concealer from Collection Cosmetics in the shade "medium" more than a week ago. I did not hesitate to buy it because it was really hard to find.
I thought the shade medium that the SA were telling me was the 2nd to the lightest shade. Turned out be it was the third from the lightest.
The concealer is housed in a sturdy plastic packaging with a doe foot application. The packaging does not scream "speciam" or "rave" to me.
Medium 3 is a light beige shade which look a shade lighter than my NC35 skintone.
On my initial try of this concealer, I found it very dry and cakey. I was utterly disappointed with how it made my eyes look wrinkly and the concealer looked patchy. On the other hand, its coverage and pigmentation amazed me. I have relatively dark under and I have been in search for the best and affordable concealer to cover up my bags. With two layers of this concealer, it can cover up my dark circles like magic. On my second try, I decided to apply it under my eyes a few seconds after my under eye cream settled. I applied it in a patting motion and it blended perfectly on my skin. The consistency is creamy and blendable but dries quickly compared to other liquid concealers I have tried. It has medium-heavy coverage.
The Good:
EXCELLENT coverage! Two layers can completely cover my dark circles. It also works in brilliantly covering up red spots and acne marks.
Long lasting. True to its name, this concealer is long lasting and does not wear off easily. (You can refer to my photos below) I applied it in the morning and it stayed throughout the day (just make sure you top it off with powder to lock the concealer in place). I usually reapply concealer by mid day because my previous concealer, Artdeco Camouflage Cream has poor staying power. With this concealer, I do not reapply concealers anymore. It can stay on my under eyes for more than a whopping 8 hours. (Take note, I have dry skin).
The texture is creamy and blendable.
Amazing quality at such an affordable price. This only cost me 299 pesos.
It looks so natural on my skin despite its heavy coverage. Just make sure you moisturize your under eyes well to prevent caking and dryness.
Does not settle on the fine lines. Due to old age (Yes, being on my late twenties qualifies me as "old" in the beauty blogosphere), my fine lines have been really noticeable.
It does not crease!!!
I got a good colour match in the shade "Medium".
I did not experience any break out.
Despite it being lighter than my skin tone, it blends perfectly well on my skin. It also looked seamless on photos and even those taken with flash.
The Bad:
The shade medium is always out of stock. I bought mine at the Ramp, Trinoma.
This does not have a varied and extensive shade selection. No. 3 Medium even looked a shade lighter for my NC35 skin.
Tends to cake and dries quickly.
For reference, here is my dark under eye. This photo does not clearly show how dark my under eyes are.
With two layers, with powder and after more than eight hours of wear without retouching Had it not been for me getting teary when I watched a movie, then the inner and outer corners would still look well. Can you you see that it did not settle on my fine lines?
Collection Cosmetics plus Iris Powder Foundation.
Over all, this concealer is my Holy Grail!!!! I absolutely love it to bits and I highly recommend this to all of my readers! Will I be buying again? Hell yeah!!!! I should be hoarding this concealer to secure back ups!!! hihihi
What is your favorite concealer?Have a blessed day everyone!
I really had a hard time choosing the winners for this makeup contest. I received great entries from my readers and reading through their blog posts and watching their videos made me miss law school days (where I drop codals and books just to enter makeup contests). The primordial aim of the contest is to show that beauty does not always have to be costly. There are a lot of gems in the local beauty department and from foreign drugstore brands waiting to be discovered. Out of all the entries that I received, there are two entries which stood out among the rest. The most difficult part was choosing first prize between these two entries. So here are the winners for the makeup contest: First prize goes to Bing Castro!!
Bing simply nailed the Look Fab on a Budget contest theme. She did not only use very affordable product but she went further by maximizing the usage of the products. For example she used an eyebrow pencil for contouring her cheeks, black liner as a makeup base, and white shimmery eyeshadow as a highlighter. Now that's creativity and practicality intertwined. Job well done Bing!! Congrats!
Second Prize goes to Jhessica Recto!!
When I saw her entry, I was literally in awe with her before and after photo. I was drawn to her whole look because she did a great job in enhancing her facial features. Look at how stunning she looks with cheek bones perfectly chiseled, arched brows and smokey eyes. The look was put together very well.
Hi everyone!!! Forgive the lack of posts this week. This is due to the lack of broadband connection at home. Sky Cable sucks. BIGTIME! After four months of utterly disappointing service, I finally asked for a termination of their services. Hopefully, they will act on my request soon. I applied for Globe connection and I am hoping it will deliver better and reliable services. I know you have missed my local product posts because I have been so engrossed with US products due to influence of my favorite Youtube Gurus. I chanced upon Andee of Ohitsandee of Youtube post a picture of this blush with swatch. It looks so pretty on the picture and I immediately asked what shade was it. The next thing I knew I was in landmark searching for this blush. This blush only costs 150 pesos. I think this is not a new product but merely a reformulation and repackaging of their old blush stick (that looks more of a deodorant than a blush!! haha).
The packaging reminds me a lot of the NYX blus stick and the Revlon Blush Stick.
Shade No. 3 is a beautiful matte peach color with hints of pink. When applied on the cheeks, it turns into a pretty blushing coral hue on me. The pigmentation is great/ The consistency is very creamy and blendable. It dries into a semi matte finish. The staying power is just ok. This can last 3-4 hrs on me. I experienced noticeable fading on the third or fourth hour. If you have oily skin, It is best to set this with powder or a powder blush of the same color. This blush also has a tendency to slide off your skin depending on the condition of the weather. It stayed put pretty well when I used it in an airconditioned room. I do not directly dab this blush on my cheeks. I first rub my fingers on the blush to melt the product. This will make the application easier. This blush has a strong scent which is comparable to Chinese creams which I really disliked. This also highlighted the dry areas and rashes on my cheeks. Thus, making the blush look very patchy or blotchy.
This is what it looks like on my cheeks. I am truly in love with the color and reminds me of MAC Fleur Power. (Ohhh forgive my sweaty forehead and harsh brows, I was not able to brush my brows before taking this picture).
Have you tried this blush?
Let me know your thoughts.
Congratulations to Maria Christina Pena for winning the Primp Pad Giveaway. Kindly email me your full shipping address on mylucidintervals@gmail.com
Did you know that Jes Roque of makeuplove.blogspot.com has the most beautiful brows that I have ever seen? Whenever I see her, I can't help but stare on her brows with awe and pure envy. Hahaha I have always been frustrated with my brows. I have tried a lot of tricks and products. Most are hits but some are misses. Anyways, I ran out of my K-Palette Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow (which I super love). Check my review here: http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2012/10/k-palette-lasting-2way-eyebrow-review.html I was supposed to get a K-Palette's but I ended up buying this eyebrow cake. This brand is Pinkie Swear, a sister company of James Cooper. Whenever I go Watsons or SM Department Stores, I can't help but notice this brand and James Cooper. They have loads of affordable and promising products lately. Btw, Thanks to Ohitsandee of youtube for featuring this product. :) I could not curtail my excitement to share with you my review of this product. Here it is:
Pinkies Collection Eyebrow Cake in EBC-03 Price: 169 Pesos Weight: 3 grams Available in SM Department Stores and Watsons Branches This eyebrow cake comes in three shades to choose from. I got EBC-03 with two shades that is perfect for my eyebrow color. It contains a muted pale brown and a medium taupe color. The finish of this eyeshadow is sheer matte. The color is very buildable and with a wet angled brush, you get gorgeous pigmentation. The texture of this eyebrow cake is quite hard. Also, this is not too powdery and this blends perfectly on my brows. I could use the light brown of the taupe on its own and the shade just look so natural. I use this with my Marionnaud Spoolie with Angled Brush. This is best used with wet application. I just use normal water or water with Glycerine. Whenever I use this in the office or some place where there is no water in sight, I use Visine drops. For a very affordable product, Can I just say that this is extremely amazing especially if used with James Cooper Eyebrow Gel in Frosted Brown. This lasts almost whole day (whole day means office hours haha) on me to be exact for like 6-8 hours without retouching. The clean and sharp edges may blur at the end of the day but the color per se is still intact. My only rant is the packaging. The lid cover is not sturdy at all. I only have this for two weeks and I am afraid the lid cover will be detached anytime soon. Waahh!
This eyebrow cake applies smoothly even with dry application. For busy people, I do not recommend this eyebrow cake. This takes up 10 minutes of my makeup routine. I know a lot of you will say "ang tegel nemen 10 mins!" Exag! However, it is the truth. If you have untamed brows like I do and you want that perfect shape and arch, the process can get really tedious. Plus, I just don't fill my brows, I draw my brows (literally)! I apply the light brown on the inner brows for that natural look and on the the middle and on the tail, I use the taupe shade for a sharper and cleaner look.
My untamed brows.
What do you think with my drawn arch? hihi Ohh wait let me give you a sneak peek of another brow product that I am currently in love with:
Thank Iya Boto for the review!! Were it not for your review on this product, I will not buy it. I bought two shades of this brow gel. All I can say is forget about Etude House Color My Brows that dries up easily. Try this brow gel and you will definitely love it too. Check out Iyah's review and comparison with MAC Girl Boy: http://iyaboto.blogspot.com/2012/11/review-james-cooper-eyebrow-gel.html
I am so proud that our local products are getting better and better!
Good day MLI Readers!!! For weeks (or months?), I have been lemming for the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation. Guess what? I finally bought one for only 750 pesos with shipping on ebay. weehh!!I was so lucky because the product was just uploaded. I did not think twice of buying it. I just can't contain my excitement so I am sharing it with all of you. hehe Honestly, I was planning to blog about a shampoo review and a recent event that I attended but my head is not working properly right now due to lack of sleep. I have been staring on the blogger dashboard for an hour and I just can't blog properly when I am tired. :(
Anyways, this is the review of Judy that made me want to get this foundation!! I really love her honest and in depth reviews. Btw, I will be updating my youtube channel soon. :)
Hello MLI readers!! I finally had the chance to do the 500 pesos makeup challenge. I was thinking of doing the 20$ makeup challenge but that would be too easy for me since I have loads of makeup that I could just readily use for the challenge. I really had a hard time finding the products to make this look. I was in search for weeks and was computing all the time while shopping for the products I have used. Haha 500 pesos was just to stiff for a complete makeup look. This makeup tag was started by Char of Yellowyum and Gem of Rarevanity. The challenge was to create a look using 500 pesos worth of makeup products. The good thing was the brushes are not included in the 500 pesos ceiling.
Since I do not have a primer, I used the black eyeliner as my base. I applied the black eyeliner all over my lid upto the crease area.
The eyeshadow palette I got was too powder so I just packed the shadow on my lid area extending above the crease. I wet the brush I used with a bit of water to make the application of the e/s easier.
To intensify the look, I smudged the black liner on the outer V of my eye and blended the harsh edges with my Virginia Olsen Blending Brush. Then, I sweep some gold eyeshadow above the crease area.
Make sure you highlight the inner corners of your eye, I use a lighter yellow gold. Thereafter, I lined my lid with a black liquid liner. No matter how dark my eyeshadows are, they tend to disappear especially when I open my eyes. You can refer to the photo of my whole look. So, I skipped mascara and bought falsies instead to make my eyes look more dramatic.
I had a hard time doing my brows because I only have a black eyeliner. I used the black eyeliner for tightlining and as an eyeshadow base as well. With a light hand and feathering strokes, I drew the outline of my brows and I applied some brown matte eyeshadow to blend the color.
I tried using my liquid eyeliner to coat my lower lashes but it simply did not work. Also, I used my pressed powder to highlight my brow bone since the palette I bought only contain shimmery eyeshadows. Also, I prefer using matte eyeshadow on my brown bone because it creates a cleaner look and it emphasizes my brows better than shimmery shades. The products I used are:
For the face, I used Careline Pressed Powder in Natural. I find this powder really hard to blend on my dry skin. However, the shade is really wearable. I thought that it would look way too light on my skin but it blended well with my skin tone. The San San Liquid foundation only costs 100 pesos because I bought it on sale before. Hehe...
For the lips, I used my favorite Careline Lipgloss in 101. This lipgloss is too opaque; I can skip the lip liner.
I bought this eyeshadow palette for only 40 pesos. Yes. This was a palette you can see in the tiangge or 168. I preferred using this because 100 pesos palette from Nichido or Careline was just too pricey for this challenge.. haha
Pinkie Swear Cosmetics is a sister company of James Cooper Cosmetics. I was in search for a good matte brown eyeshadow for contouring and for my brows. I was lucky enough to find this. I used this eyeshadow as a contouring powder and as abronzer blush. :)
My favorite was this black liquid liner which only costs 30 pesos. It is so pigmented and smudge proof. I swear I want to get more of this. The Nichido Eyeliner turned out to be okay. It was not too black like that of their Mineral Kohl Pencil but it did a fairly good job. I used this for tightlining too and it is a bit creamy.
Time and again, you would hear me say that the best false lashes for me are from HBC. 20 pesos falsies is such a steal.
I love the coverage of my San San Liquid Foundation paired with the Careline Pressed Powder . However, I had a hard time covering my dark circles. I really need a concealer to cover it. I tried doubling the layer of liquid foundation under my eye area but it turned out to be too cakey. The Deep Brown Eyeshadow from Pinkie Swear Cosmetics amazed me. I think in the picture and in real life, you could never tell that I was wearing an eyeshadow and not a true bronzer/contour powder. It has a very nice texture and I did not have a hard time blending the color.
What do you think of my 500 pesos makeup challenge look?
I would love to see your look using 500 pesos worth of makeup products.
Hi everyone! I woke with a bad case of dysmenorrhea. I just want to lay flat on my bed all day. Do you have monthly blues like I do? I refuse to take meds because there was a time when I became overtly dependent on them. To date, I already passed out a few times due to the unbearable pain dysmenorrhea brought me. Let us admit this, ladies! Sometimes, it is just not fun being a girl. waahhhh...
Have you watched The Uhhmazing Spiderman? Did you love it? I did.. This is the reason why he is not included in the Avengers. However, I think he will soon included in the next movie of the Avengers and he will be replacing... Captain America... Correct me if I am wrong Marvel Fanatics. Emma Stone looks fab. BF kept saying she's pretty noh !? Moreover, I am very excited for the part two of the movie. :) but I still love the Avengers more, the Ironman Series and XMEN First Class. Have I mentioned that I am not into love stories? I want action packed films or those with apocalyptic plots where all people will die and the world has come to its end. Morbid lang! Just another thought that came to my mind, was the movie Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme!
After watching this, I heard a woman say "This is so worth it!". I wanted to say "Ano veh?!?!" I was expecting that I would be laughing my night away when I watched this. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I was laughing like this - HAhA.Seriously! I am still contemplating if I had lost my sense of humor.Hmm.. Ok enough of this. I went to Landmark Trinoma yesterday. I finally got a bottle of the Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil. Thanks Debbie! I hope this will cure my rashes. My face has turned into a sand paper. I think I will stop using my Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser. I think it really does not suit my skin. I gave this a second chance already. Thus, I need to stock up on Go Naturals Facial wash. I will go back to this or try out a Human Heart Nature Cleanser. Anyone tried their facial wash? Kindly share your experience using it please. I just want to share with you this makeup brush set that I found yesterday at Landmark, Trinoma. Ecotools 5 pc brush set, is that you? I was frantic when I saw the price! 239 pesos? I bought my Ecotools for 500 pesos or 600 pesos!! Did I buy it? NO. (Wow, working for my own money did give me more self control on shopping ) However, I did open the plastic to feel the bristles of the brushes and they felt like the Ecotools brushes indeed! The blending brush was denser and pointed as contradistinguished from the one from Ecotools. So, if you are looking for a low budget brush set. I think this one is a great buy.
I was planning to do a review on this lip gloss by the end of the week but I could not contain my excitement and happiness over my newest discovery!! (Tagos ba sa monitor niyo ang excitement ko.. haha) After our SPA Date (Alexis, Nicole and Ivy) at Beauty and Butter in Megamall, Alexis and I went around the department store. I was intrigued with M&CO. stall. The secretary in the law office I am working at uses an M&Co. lipstick. I hurriedly swatched their products. Don't you love swatching makeup products without the strict observance of Sales Attendants! hahaha The packaging of the lipgloss reminded me of Revlon Superlustrous Lipglosses. I was even more convinced in buying when I saw the price. This lipgloss only costs 130 pesos! :))
Honestly, if there are two makeup products that I am not really fond of that would be shimmery blushes (because it highlights my rash prone skin) and lipgloss. Yup. I am not into glosses except when I was in college. That was like yearsssss ago.. Back then, I love collecting Bloom lipglosses. I love the shades Tangerine and Cutie Pie a lot! I usually commute when I was still studying. So imagine my horror when I am wearing lipgloss while riding a jeepney and all the dust and dirt were accumulating on my lips! Ewwwness Now, you know why I love matte lip products.
There are six or eight shades available but I am particularly drawn to this shade. It is beautiful champagne coral. I really think that this is a very versatile shade compared to the other shades available. I can layer it over pink lipsticks and peach colors without losing the lipstick's true shade. I absolutely love the micro shimmers in it.
I am not liking the wand. It looks so unusual. It is quite longer and stiff than most lipgloss wands I have seen.
The shade matches my nails! On my nails - Orly Nail Polish in Toast the Couple
I might forget the shade I got was in ELECTRIC GINGER!
Do I like this lipgloss?Hell yeah!! I love it to bits that I am writing this review as earlier than planned!
Why I love it? Very Affordable for 130 pesos! The packaging looks absolutely classy. It feels sturdy too. No funky smell! :D It is not sticky at all. It feels so light on my lips. I have been wearing this everyday. My latest addition to my must have things in my makeup kit. The texture is very smooth. The micro shimmers/ glitters do not give a gritty feel. It gives my lips a beautiful shine and adds plump to it for that luscious effect!
What I do not like about it? The brush applicator is very stiff and the size is very weird. When applied over very opaque lipstick, the shimmers do not show up well.
Will I buy it again? Yes!! The shade reminds me of Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipgloss which I reviewed before in Rose Tentation.
I am eyeing on one more product from M&Co. I am still contemplating if I should buy it or not. Have you tried anything from this cosmetic line/brand? I want to hear your comments and recommendation.
Btw, are you loving the shots from my new lens? hihihiGodbless everyone!
