This latter part of this year is a mascara craze for me. I received three mascaras from K-Palette and Fairy Drops.I bought this Revlon mascara because of the good reviews from US bloggers. Also, I was really curious with the 3D Volume thingy. Plus, the fact that this mascara came from the Photoready line made it more interesting.
In the Philippines, this mascara costs 750 pesos. I was shocked to learn this. I told myself that this must be worth every penny if it costs this much. Well, I did not buy this at the local counters. I am not that dumb to spend 750 pesos when I can buy it at more than half the price. I got this on ebay for 300 pesos with shipping. I have it blackest black.
This mascara has a wet formula. As you all know, I veer away from mascaras with wet formula because they tend to weigh down my lashes. Surprisingly, this mascara has a good curling quality. Most of the time, I use it alone without the need of curling my lashes. It can hold the curl for about 3-4 hours or even more. The pigmentation is good but not as incredible as the L'oreal Volumious Carbon Black. Please refer to my review of L'oreal Mascara here. This mascara separates my lashes really well but it does not give my lashes my desired volume with just two-three coats. The problem with this mascara is that 5-6 coats can definitely make my lashes clump. I have to be really careful in applying this to avoid clumping and it just takes a lot of time in my makeup routine. Clumping issue aside, this does a good job of lengthening my lashes. HOwver, I do not like using this mascara on my lower lashes. It just make my lower lashes look like spider legs which is too unnatural for everyday wear. I ain't gonna sport a Twiggy look on a daily basis you know. This mascara can be easily removed with soap and water or makeup remover.
The bristles of the brush does a good job of separating my lashes but I fin the bristles too stiff. To the point that I could not even apply this mascara close to my lash line because the bristles tends to poke my lash line like crazy. This is the first time I have such an experience this with a mascara brush. Also, I noticed that the wand does not pick up the product fairly well. Most of the time, I need to scoop out the product using the tip of the wand. Well, the mascara brush is not that bad because it can apply the product really well on hard to reach areas like the lashes in the inner corner of the eyes. Here is a before and after shot using this mascara:
Without mascara
With Revlon Photoready 3D Volume
It did a great job of lengthening and separating my lashes. Do I love it? No. I gave it about two weeks and I just gave up on it. I really wanted to make it work but sadly, it did not. I think that it will suit people with thicker lashes but not those with sparse lashes like mine. Have you tried this mascara? Share your thoughts on the comment box please.:) Currently, I am using Fairydrops mascara. I have to admit I love it! It is definitely HG material. Review coming soon. :) Godbless everyone.
Hello MLI readers! How are you? I did a mini haul last week and these are my purchases. I bought everything with my own money but I think I overspend a bit this month. I finally bought a new lens. Yehey:) I will not disclose what type of Nikkor lens. (emphasis supplied) Just enjoy the pictures in my blog. I tried using it to shoot a video and the quality is quite amazing. These are the first few photos I shoot with my new lens.
I do not normally visit Daiso because I love Saizen more because they a lot of beauty products and cosmetics. I was lucky enough to find these gorgeous lashes at Daiso for 66 pesos only. I should have bought a few more boxes especially the lashes on the right side of the picture. They definitely remind me of the demi wispies from Ardell. I also bought this super handy and cute lash case for only 66 pesos.
My Revlon products from Ebay. I bought the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara because of the good reviews I read on the internet. The pictures of bloggers using this mascara are pretty amazing! I finally received my Colorstay Whipped Foundation. Luckily, Warm Golden suits my NC35 skintone really well. I really thought that it would look too light on me but it was perfect. However, I wished that it was more yellow in color. I road tested it today and so far so good. I will be doing an in depth review soon.
I once again bought my nth pan of the Fanny Serrano Two Cake. I also bought their gel liner in black. I think I will go back to get the brown one. I will post my review on this soon. They have an ongoing promo right now. If you buy 600 worth of FS products, you'll get a choice of free lipgloss, eyeliner or eye pencil. I got the liquid lipstick (of course) in the shade light henna which is a light mauvey color.
I just want to share my current BB Cream. This is a BB Cream from a Korean Brand, Mizon. Review on this will be soon. (Oh my,, I have loads of things to review.. hihi)
Finally, I bought a new Iphone case!! My Iphone Case looks dirty and totally unappealing. BF was the one who picked the design. This is so cute noh?
That's it. More blog posts coming soon.. I am excited to blog because of my new lens and hopefully I will have time to do a video.
Godbless everyone.Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Good day MLI Readers!!! For weeks (or months?), I have been lemming for the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation. Guess what? I finally bought one for only 750 pesos with shipping on ebay. weehh!!I was so lucky because the product was just uploaded. I did not think twice of buying it. I just can't contain my excitement so I am sharing it with all of you. hehe Honestly, I was planning to blog about a shampoo review and a recent event that I attended but my head is not working properly right now due to lack of sleep. I have been staring on the blogger dashboard for an hour and I just can't blog properly when I am tired. :(
Anyways, this is the review of Judy that made me want to get this foundation!! I really love her honest and in depth reviews. Btw, I will be updating my youtube channel soon. :)
Good morning MLI Readers! Anyone of you been to the Phil-cosmetics expo? I was really disappointed. I went home empty handed yesterday. It only took me thirty minutes to check everything. There were bare stalls. Perhaps, I was just expecting to see new stuff and more brands. I could basically buy everything online. Oh well, I will check back again tomorrow or maybe today. :)
Get an airbrushed finish with Revlon’s light-as-air mousse makeup. Press button gently to deliver a lightweight air-infused foam mousse that blends seamlessly. Photochromatic pigments minimize the appearance of flaws for a smooth, poreless look. Moving on, I first saw this product featured by Judy of Itsjudytime in Youtube. As usual, I was very curious with it. The mousse thing and the Airbrush got me. I never thought that this will be available locally so I asked my best friend to get me one in Canada. I am honestly not a fan of their photoready foundation. This foundation is surely a miss or hit for most women.
The foundation is housed in a container made of tin can (tama ba na tin can? hehe). It has the usual packaging of a hair mousse/hair spray. I find it light and handy. I brought this with me on my 3day vacation in Batangas and I just tossed this inside my bag. I do not like the pump dispenser. Can you see how big the opening of the nozzle? I can not control the amount of the product. Also, at the back of the packaging you will see the words "CAUTION: CONTAINER MAY EXPLODE WHEN HEATED." I was actually alarmed when I saw this. I never saw a makeup product with a lot of precautions. It goes on with EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE, Keep out of reach of children. I usually see this warning on poisonous subtances like insect killers or disinfectant sprays. I am not thrilled with this (honestly, who would be?). I kept this foundation immediately in my makeup drawer away from direct sunlight. Who knows what kind of explosion this could make! Scared to death ang peg!
I really thought that the product would be airy like a real hair mousse but it did not come out like that at all. It is still a liquid makeup even with the bubbling effect which is primarily caused by the air pressure when you pump out the product.
I also thought that this product is light and sheer being a mousse foundation. I was surprised that it has a good coverage. A medium coverage to be exact. This does not have a full coverage. The coverage is not even comparable to the thickness of my MAC Studiofix. The product is buildable. I like applying this with the use of my fingers. The first time I used this was with a foundation brush and I can not get an even coverage. The foundation looked so streaky on me. However, when applied with my fingers, I get an even and flawless coverage. Perhaps, this is due to the warmth of my fingers that made it easier for the product to blend and it melted the product on my skin. The product is very blendable and the consistency is nice. Some may find this a bit greasy.
The shade is a good match for my NC35 (medium yellow) skintone. However, there are times when this foundation turns darker and orange on me. Take note, I am not even acidic. What I do is I use a slightly lighter shade of setting powder to even out the color. This has tiny shimmer which is hardly noticeable. I do hope Revlon reformulates their photoready line. I am not a fan of shimmers at all and I guess a lot of women do not want to look like a discoball because of the shimmers in foundation, primer or concealer. Also, I really think that Revlon has issues with foundation shades. It is really hard to pick the right shade of foundation. I guess a lot Asian women have this issue.
I also noticed that it has that weird funky scent which is not at all appealing. When I first tried it on, I was actually searching where that scent came from. I thought that my brush was not washed well. I only came to know that the funky scent came from this foundation on my second try. Also, this definitely has a tendency of stinging my eyes. I do not know why but it makes my eyes water. Thus, I need to face the electric fan whenever I apply this foundation. I hope I am not the only who experience this!
Surprisingly, (is this even a surprise??) this worked so well with the Revlon Photoready primer.
The consistency is quite perfect for my dry skin. I guess this foundation will not work well with oily skin gals.
Without and Without the Revlon Foundation (My face looks so bloated especially in the morning.. That explains why I am not a morning person haha)
For the coverage, I must say that I love it. Can you see how well it covered my dark circles and red areas. This is currently my go to liquid foundation. I experienced no break outs. There is too much hype on this product. It did not actually reached my expectation being a foundation lover myself. It costs 895 pesos (I think) here in the Philippines. Will I repurchase? Definitely not. However, I might give this another shot if Revlon does away with the shimmer and tweak the formulation a bit.
I am excited to try the Revlon whipped foundation though. I have a gut feeling that the whipped foundation really deserves all the hype. For the record, I am still in search for the right shade of Revlon Colorstay. I have been trying to find the right shade for me for years now. Golden beige is not available locally. Sad. I know. I have tried two shades of that before and it all did not match my skintone. :(
Hi everyone! I hope all of you are safe and secure. The weather here in Manila and other parts of Luzon was really crazy. The heavy rain is pouring non stop. I saw a comment on Instagram saying Prayers will not do anything. Send money instead. What is wrong with people nowadays? Ughh.. I do not want to argue with these kind of people. Instead, I will be including them in my prayers tonight.
Moving on, I am excited to share this review to all of you. If you have been following my blog, you would all know how I love my ELF Mineral Infused Primer. For 400 pesos, that primer is such a steal. I love that to bits. I ran out of it and luckily, my bestfriend asked me what pasalubong do I want since her dad is having a vacation in Manila. I immediately googled new drugstore finds and this is the most promising product I chanced upon. I look up for reviews at the Makeupalley. Interestingly, this has a lot of good reviews. I have to admit that I am loving REvlon lately. However, I am not a fan of their photoready liquid foundation. I think their ip butters are ingenious and worth all the bucks. I am looking forward to their Whipped Foundation with a lot of excitement. I am also crossing my fingers that this will not cost an arm and a leg.
This primer costs 825 pesos in the local market. For the price, this has a good amount of product -27 ml to be exact.
I love the pump bottle. It is the same with the Photoready foundation. It is very useful and you can really control the amount of product. It is very hygienic too. Th bottle may look heavy because it is made of glass but do not get easily deceived. It is actually lighter than I thought it would be.
Initially, I did not like this primer at all. I find it too thick and really hard to spread. I was like comparing it with my ELF Mineral Infused primer which was really light and easy to blend. I googled the consistency of this primer and found out the it looks really light than thick. I shook the bottle for a minute or two and voila - my primer became more blendable and the consistency became a bit runny than it used to.
The color reminds me a lot of the L'oreal Base Magique Primer. However, this is more blendable and lighter than L'oreal's. It appears opaque white but the color disappears upon application. There is no white cast at all. It also has minute shimmers that are very unnoticeable.
What I love about this primer: It smoothens my skin really well . It can actually fill the fine lines of the face creating a flawless canvass for foundation application. It did a great job of making my pores less visible. It does make my foundation and concealer last longer. I experience no break outs using this product.
What I do not like about this primer: Too much of this product made my face really cakey. You need to blend the product really well to prevent it from caking. This has a weird chemical scent.
Overall,I love this primer. However, I love my ELF Mineral Infused primer more. Perhaps, the primordial reason is the price difference and the consistency. Also, ELF Primer's gel like consistency is really light on the skin and blends like a dream. I will definitely not repurchase this primer.
Hi everyone! I finally got the package that my bestfriend sent me! I asked her to buy me these Revlon products because I thought these will never get to our local counters! I am looking forward to the Revlon Whipped Foundation! Waahhh! There is a huge Youtube hype on that product. Anyways, I finally got a new primer! Yehey! Also, I have been lemming for this L'oreal Carbon Black Mascara for months. Again, a lot of Youtube Gurus are raving about this one.
My bestfriend also sent me these BBW stuff. Nasurprise ako!#kalurkey In fairness, I love the scent. Thank you Bes! I hope I could be there with you on your special day. I am so excited and happy that God gave you a beautiful blessing. I will pray for you and my inaanak. :)
I have finally bought a palette. I was contemplating on what palette should I get that is perfect for traveling. Something that would fit perfectly in my makeup kit. I bought this palette online but this is available at our local counters. I chose this because it has a mixture of matte and shimmery eye shadows. The colors are very suitable for office makeup. I am also planning on getting an In2it palette in the shade Sorbet Deluxe. . Since I cannot go wild with colors for office makeup, I might as well enjoy the tamed hues like pinks and greens. Divah?!
A Sleek Palette of my own. I got the shade in Aruba which is a bright matte orange. I am lemming for Pan Tao and Suede shades. I bought this for 400 pesos only exclusive of shipping.
I also got myself a new mascara from 4u2 which in all honesty sucks big time! Review to follow soon. haha Ohhh I love blogging about my rants on products. Haha When I hate a product, I would even go an extra mile just to tell my readers not to buy that product. I am now advising everyone not to buy this mascara! tsk tsk This only costs 194 pesos. Whateves. 194 is still money right?! So, if you plan on buying mascara and you do not know what brands are the best? I think that you can never go wrong with Maybelline or Covergirl.
I also bought this Wet n Wild Lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy for 299 pesos. I miss buying Wet n Wild lipsticks on ebay for 54 pesos only! I bought my Color Icon Lippies for only a fraction of a price two years ago. This shade is a dead ringer for MAC Rebel. I am not into bold and dark lip shades because my lips are really pouty and I have overbite. That being said, I do not want to waste 1000 pesos for something I will not use always so I got the dupe instead. Like I always say. THERE'S ALWAYS A DUPE OUT THERE. Something that will never break the bank but at par with the high end brand.
Yesterday, I went to the K-Palette event and I had a wonderful time meeting the other bloggers again. However, I really enjoyed talking with Jes Roque. She's such a sweetheart and super duper sexy. While we were talking, she told me to use makeup remover instead of toner. Hence, I bought this Purederm Cleansing tissues. I was looking for The Face Shop in Gateway but sadly I found none. They have this budget friendly wipes that I wanted to buy last month. I got this Cleansing Wipes for only 99 pesos. Not bad noh?! I tried it last night and it was okay. It did not remove my mascara and eyeliner so I still have to use my Pond's Cold Cream.
When I attended the Glaminar Workshop, Anna stressed the need to use toner before putting on moisturizer. She was also raving about MAC Fix Spray that time. Then I found this at Watsons for only 129 pesos I think. :) Let's see if this will work on me.
That's it everyone.
Have a blessed Sunday. At the end of the day, let us not be consumed with trivial matters and material things. There are things in life that matters most than makeup, clothes and shoes.
Hi everyone! I decided to do a hit list post which will feature the products that I am loving lately. I have even considered checking outa list of online cosmetology colleges to discover even more great makeup products from a cosmetology/ makeup class.
In no particular order, my fave products are: 1. Maybelline Baby Lips - Two of my readers commented on how good this product is. I have tried Carmex, Chapstick to Vaseline.. I think this one is the best. Thank you for your recommendation. It moisturizes my lips very well. The balm just don't sit on my lips like a gloss but it does a nice job of making my lips softer and more supple. I have dry lips and I have noticed that I rarely experience chapped lips now. I also love the scent. I think I got the raspberry one. This only costs 79 pesos. I will definitely repurchase.
2. Splash Hair Control Polish - I like this better than a leave on serum. This tames my tresses and baby hair without my hair looking oily. (The trick is not applying too much)
3. Sophia Eyelash Enhancing Kit - I posted an intro post for this product and a monthly update. I am very impressed with this one. A co-employee asked me last week if I my lashes are true or fake. Waahhh Nobody has ever took notice of my lashes before. Click here for more info about this product.
4. Revlon Lip Butters - I have been raving about this lip butters ever since I got them. I use it almost everyday to the office especially pink truffle which is my lips but way better shade. :D Review and Swatches here.
5. San San Rosy Blush - I expressed my profound love for the Peach blush before. I have been liking this blush because it looks similar with my ELF blush, the one in the Studioline blush/bronzer compact. The gold shimmer is not noticeable but gives my face that nice glow. Click here for review and swatches of the San San blushes.
5. Fashion 21 Loose Powder - I honestly did not like this when I bought it at first. I was even thinking of throwing it away but I just kept it inside my makeup drawer for about 2 or 3 months. Again, I was influenced by Filipina Youtube Gurus in buying this product. I find this great for touch ups but not for setting foundation or BB Cream. However, I use this to set my concealer to highlight my under eye because the shade is a bit lighter for my skin tone.
6. Saizen Face Massager - I do not actually know what you call this stuff. Is it a face massager or scrub? I saw a Youtube guru cleaning her face with a face brush (the one used in facials). Having sensitive skin, I have an inkling brushes will definitely not work for me since it will prick my skin. Then I saw this at watsons and I am using this to clean my face every other day (not everyday). I feel that my face becomes softer after using this. I never thought that cleaning one's face can be so relaxing. :D
The tiny bristles are very gentle. Just don't press this hard on your skin.
7. Marionnaud N32 Angled Brush - Fave brush for the moment. I use this for blush application and for contouring my cheeks. I think I should get a back up for this brush.
8. Neutrogena Fine Fairness Bb Cream - I am using this everyday! More about this product soon.
9. MAC Gingerly Blush - This is my go to blush as of the moment. I find the shade very versatile. I can use this with a pink, peach or red lipstick!! Also, JlovesMAC love this blush too. :D
The shade is a very warm peach blush with brownish red undertones.
10. Nichido Tru Lashes Eyelash Adhesive - I was very disappointed with Aido and I was in search for a nice lash adhesive. During one makeup gig with my sorority sister, I was amazed that she was wearing falsies since 8 am and it was still on her until I went home (around 7pm). I was surprised when she showed me a tiny bottle which is very familiar because I have been seeing it always at the Nichido Counters. I was also thrilled that it only costs 60 pesos!! This tiny bottle does a great job. It dries relatively fast(not super quick, I hope you get what I mean).
This bottle is very tiny and it is worth every penny. The only thing I hate about this is the packaging. The cap can be really hard to remove.
That's it. What are the products you are loving right now?I would love to hear from you. Godbless everyone.. :D
Revlon Lip Butters are much raved about from youtube to blogging world. I was very curious about it!! I asked my cool aunt to get me three shades of it since I really thought it would be released at a very late time here in the Philippines. However, these lippies hit the market before I got hold of my lippies from NYC!! haha.. My aunt told me that she can't find these at local stores near her place. She got these at Amazon.com instead. I had a hard time picking the shades because at the back of my mind, I need to make the right choice!! haha
Pink Truffle/Sweet Tart/Tutti Frutti
These are my top three choices. I was torn between lollipop and sweet tart.. Pink Truffle is a just a spur of the moment decision because I wanted a natural lip color but it turned out to be my favorite shade. When I received these lippies, I immediately took pictures of them (for this review post) and tried it on. Good heavens!! They are nothing that I have ever used. The texture and consistency is very smooth and balm-y. The shade is very opaque for a lip butter and they are very moisturizing (in my opinion, but a lot of people are not that impressed with the moisturizing factor these have). I can use them even without a lip balm. I have very dry lips and these worked really well on me. The packaging is very nice too but I have a hard time removing the cap. This costs 525 pesos each. I find it very pricey but with the quality.. I don't not mind the price at all. I am a fan of these lippies!!
What I love about these Lip Butters:
They have a wide range of color selection. They have 20 shades available! That is a lot!
The texture and consistency is very smooth, creamy and very similar to a lip balm (but way better because of the tint!)
The shade is quite pigmented for a lip butter/lip balm. The coverage is very good too. I have dark outer lip lines, thus, I still need to apply a lip line. However, I can use the Pink Truffle on its own without a lip liner. I am not into glossy lip products but this product is an exception. I hate glossy lippies because they tend to be sticky but these are not!!
These are very moisturizing. I have very dry lips and I gave up on every lip balm I knew of because my lips somehow becomes immune to them after some time(uhmmm do you experience this too?). Anyways, I can use these alone without a lip balm unlike my Venus and Mars lip butter.
The packaging is very sleek!
The staying power is quite good not great. (emphasis supplied) I need to reapply after 3-4 hours.. The good thing is that I reapply this even without using a mirror. Yes, like reapplying a lip balm.
The slanted tip makes the application very easy.
What I do not like about these:
I would love to say NONE.. haha
I find it pricey for a lip butter. (di ba?)
There are times that I have a hard time removing the cap. (I need to use force talaga!!)
Not all shades will probably work on dark lips, some shades are not that pigmented. Thankfully, I got the good ones.. :D
Tutti Frutti A very nice sheen of orange on the lips. Perfect for summer.
Sweet Tart Nice bubble gum pink with slight blue undertones but look well on warm skin tone. On some people, it looks like a warm bubble pink.
Pink Truffle Would you believe that this is my favorite shade? This is my lips but way better shade.. hehe The shade does is a dusty rose with hints of brown. It has slight shimmers too but very subtle.
Look how natural and beautiful it looks on my lips.
Pink Truffle/ Sweet Tart/Tutti Frutti
More than just a hype, these lippies are worth raving about! I definitely recommend this to everyone especially Pink Truffle. :D
Godbless everyone!
Do you have these lip butters? What do you think of them?
