I always wanted to styling my own hair. I would fancy having wavy locks and the "just got out of bed ala VS Angel" tresses. The penultimate problem - my hair does not want to cooperate. I desperately practiced with my hot tools before. I would spend hours curling my hair only to end up in a ponytail because my hair looked messed up rather than styled!!! I used babyliss flat iron before and con air 1 and 1/2 barrel of curling iron. I got too disheartened, I resorted to no heat remedies like curling my hair using paper, socks or tying it up in a bun overnight. In the long run, I grew weary and eeekky!!! Just imagine styling your hair overnight and not washing it the day thereafter!! Goodluck naman with the oilies!! With the humid weather here in Manila, there's no doubt unwashed hair turns into a greaseball by mid day!! You have been read in my recent posts that I want to have a new iron curler or heat styling tool. The power of words.. Guess What?It was my lucky day last last week when I found this at SM Megamall Watsons!! The SA was doing the hair of another SA and I stood there for about 5 mins. in awe. She curled the other SA's hair with such ease using a small styling tool. At that moment, I wanted to try using the iron myself. I asked the SA if I could test it. She gladly permitted me and to my amazement, I created the perfect curls with a hot tool for the first time in my life. hahaha
For 1350 pesos only, I knew I should not let this moment pass. Its original price is 1850 pesos. This is probably my best buy for this first quarter of 2013. |
It has this additional conclave shaped plates on the outer portion which makes curling such a breeze. It does not have a temperature adjustment, only an on and off button. The temperature is just right to curl the hair and just enough to end up with a fried hair. This tool heats up easily. |
The size of this baby is very travel friendly. Maneuvering the iron to curl my hair is very convenient because of its size and its swivel cord. |
You can find this tool at Watsons and their sale is until end of March. |
I used this last Monday with Fuwarie Prostyle and my curls stayed the whole day!!!!!!!!!
This is how good I am now with curling my hair!! Lols!! My curls still looking oh so great after 4 hours! |
What is your best buy for this month? I wanna know!!
Godbless everyone!!

Cleo Gourmet Shampoo
Lately, I have this weird obsession with shampoo and hair conditioner. I have finally realized that I have neglected my hair too much that it now became too unmanageable. I received this shampoo for review from Cleo. I was really excited to try this because apart from being obssessed with hair care products, I am also loving organic stuff.
I have been using this for almost two weeks now and I really think this is a very promising shampoo. |

Having scalp psoriasis made it harder for me to choose the right shampoo and conditioner. There are brands that make my scalp more itchy, thus, I always opt to buy the anti dandruff variants. The scent of this shampoo is very peculiar. Initially, I hate the scent because it smelled like herbal drug/medicine which utterly turned me off. However, I realized that it has a peculiar strawberry scent with a mixture of wine or beer. This shampoo is very good in deep cleansing my hair. It does a good job of eliminating the product build up and oiliness. My hair and scalp feel so refreshed and super clean after every wash with the use of this product. Another good thing that I noticed is that it lessened my hair fall with just a week of use. (Please take note that this is my personal experience, results may vary with different persons.) As regards the fact that it can make thicken the hair and can make the growing process faster, I have yet to know that after finishing up this bottle. Do not expect this shampoo will make your hair softer. As written in the Directions of Use, one must use conditioner after using it. Lathering conditioner on the hair after using this shampoo is a must. Using it alone made my hair harder to brush. Despite this fact, it did not strip my hair of the much needed moisture and it maintained my natural hair gloss. It also lessened the itchiness of my hair due to my scalp psoriasis. This is a plus point for me. I have no qualms in using this product everyday because it does not contain any harmful chemicals or ingredients. It is made of herbal extracts and all natural ingredients. I will make another post on this one after I finished this bottle.
A 200 ml bottle shampoo costs 575 pesos. They are currently having a promo for 550 pesos per bottle. I know the price is quite steep for a shampoo but so far I am loving the results. :) I will ask my grandmother to use this shampoo so that we will see if it can thicken the hair because she is now experiencing thinning hair. What do you think?
Godbless everyone

Hi everyone!! Happy weekend.. :D When Camilla invited me for the Benefits Salon event, I hesitated to come. Why? Having plaque psoriasis on my scalp made me shy to go to salons. I have numerous of bad experience with salons especially from the moment they saw my scalp condition. It can be annoying and down right insulting at the same time because they would give me that glaring look or they will call other people in the salon to take a look at my scalp. I have never gone back to these salons ever. I would have gone to the pharmacy and buy Wellbutrin XL to treat my depression when people make a big commotion out of my scalp condition. Sigh. Now, who trims my hair? The lady who trims the hair of my grandmother.haha She would visit my lola every month or two to dye my lola's hair and give her a cut. The downside? She does not know how to style. Yay! I end up with uneven ends and layers. When I took the bar exams, there is this myth that you should not have a haircut so as not to lose everything you studied!!haha My hair got really long and the email of Camilla was very timely.
The first thing I noticed are the colors on the wall. Purple, pink and lime green.. Do you also have that feeling that an appearance of a salon could be enticing or unappealing? For me the Benefits Salon itself looks so inviting and not intimidating at all. The crew and stylists are all friendly. |
It was an afternoon of tea and pampering treat! This cupcake tastes so good I can eat three and more!!! Look at the logo of Benefits on top! :D Cute! This cupcake is from Sonja.
This caught my attention when they washed my hair. I have that strong hunch that the owner is Chinese because of this. hehe |
I wanted to have my hair dyed but I was also thinking of getting a perm so I got L'oreal Hair Spa instead. I also had my hair cut and had my brows threaded.
I was very observant throughout the whole process. One crew even politely asked me if I am getting impatient because I kept on looking around. Haha.. I love the fact that they considered my condition. When they saw the dryness of my scalp, they applied L'oreal Hair Spa vial on it and L'oreal Hairspa cream on my hair. The lady who applied treatment on my hair (I forgot to ask her name.. tsk tsk) told me that L'oreal Hair Spa in a vial is perfect for those with dry scalp. After applying the treatment on my hair and scalp, she started massaging my scalp! It was so relaxing I was preventing myself to dose off. Before rinsing my hair, she again massaged my shoulders and upper arm. I felt so pampered and relaxed. I was not even shy when all my flakes started to show on my hair. (kiber!!!!) I was having a really nice time at this salon. |
I felt so bonggacious when two salon assistants started blow drying my hair. I just have to take a picture of this epic moment. haha When the stylist asked me what haircut do I want I explained in very simple terms that I want layers and not too short because I still have an oath taking to attend to. He knew immediately what I wanted. I was impressed. I would usually caution the stylist every now and that that I want this and not that in the previous salons that I have been to. Further, I was hesitating to have my brows threaded because I have sparse brows. I also have a bad experience when I have my brows threaded for the first time at Let's Face It! My first brow threading was horrible. My brows look so uneven and the assistant was not nice at all. For 280 pesos (I think), not worth it at all!!!!!!! I swear not to go back to LFI for brow threading. I went there because I have heard a lot of raves with their Brow threading services here in the internet! NOT TRUE!!!!! hahaha I had my brow threading at brow studio ever since. Rica was the one who did my brow threading and it was great!! I love my brows. I love how she maintained the thickness and arch. For only 150 pesos, I am so going back to this salon for threading, haircut and treatment. |
Here are the random shots of the event:
The famous Shen of shensaddiction.com She reminds me a lot of Angelica Panganiban when she speaks. I love her lipstick - MAC in Ruby Woo!!! |
Helga and Martha of Beautyjunkee. Martha looks so pretty with her hair noh? Her skin looks glowing.. :D |
With the fab sisters Robina and Rose. Young, pretty and hip entrepreneurs. They are the owners of Benefits Salon. SHocked? Me too. Yay!! They are so young and they are also the owners of the famous Azta Urban Salon at Katipunan and other salons. Wow! Yun lang ang nasabi ko when I met them!haha They are so nice and friendly. I love the fact that they are salon lovers too.. Look at their gorgeous hair. I am so envious!haha |
Another shot of Robina and Rose Their hair color looks awesome. |
I forgot to take a close up picture of my hair at the salon. Loving my layers!!

Hi everyone! I am thinking of cutting my beyond-the-shoulder hair.. I think my hair goes down as low as to the bra line (is there such a thing?). Anyways, I wanted to get a haircut because my plaque psoriasis is getting worst. Last year was very very very stressful for me and it is only now that I am experiencing the effects of it. I have been sternly warned by my derma to veer away from steroids that is why I keep on using the petrolatum plus other ingredients medicine she gave me. Hmm.. I know a lot of people do not know about psoriasis and the usual reaction is "eewww,, what's that?" I think people should stop being dumb and insensitive about people with skin conditions (whether they be contagious or not). Psoriasis, btw, is not contagious at all. I became more confident on my skin now (unlike before that I would sob to death because of my condition). Being a beauty blogger, it took an immeasurable amount of courage to announce to the whole world that I have psoriasis (I already blogged about this before). I will do separate post on this.
Anyways, moving on with my haircut. Aside from my psoriasis, I am also considering the minimal amount of time I could spend every morning to get ready before going to the office. My hair is quite thick too and it takes a long time for it to dry. I am not fond of blow drying at all. When I saw Charlene Gonzales last Sunday at The Buzz, I was so mesmerized with her new look. I told myself that if I just have that jaw line like hers and those cheekbones, I would get such haircut and even go shorter! :D I sought an approval from BF that I would cut my hair short and the answer was in the affirmative! The dilemma? the kind of hairstyle! haha I need advice from ladies working on their online bachelor degree in cosmetology - which one do you think I should go with?
Choosing the right hairstyle for people with round face (like me) is very hard. I tried having a haircut (like a boy's cut) back in my high school days and damn, I looked utterly ugly! haha as in super! The following haircut look so pretty!! I do not if I could pull this of this layered razor cut. |
I really like this cut because it deflects the width of the face. |
Kelly Clarkson looking good with a short hair. |
After her break up with Piolo, KC Concepcion chose to keep it short.
I would probably go for the inverted bob which became quite popular. Thanks to Victoria Beckham! :D |
